+1 on being surprised when I buy an aftermarket firearm product that there isn't some disappointment. I think that G G & G is one of those companies that doesn't disappoint.

Another plus about putting the light on the strong-hand side is that lights can make you a target, so offsetting the light from your vitals could prove to be... vital.
Just bought a Shockwave and will be putting the GG&G light mount on as soon as I finish up applying the Talon Grip to the stock; really looks like it will work well.
This is why when you realize it’s not somebody you want to shoot you stop aiming at them. The switch could be across the room or down the hall. You make the comment like it should be common sense but you missed alot of common sense there. This is probably why there are dozens of tactical and defensive shooting schools all over the nation. Saving people from themselves. 😹
It’s not as good as you would think. The detent ball is fine for mounting to the left side but is useless for the right. Next thing is you need a light that stands off far enough to not jam your thumb. I have one for my 12ga 590 and one for the 20ga shockwave. I don’t use the one for 12g and cut the bottom even with the barrel nut for the 20ga. I have a different mount that clamps around the little space behind the barrel on the mag tube, made to fit the little gap between. The ggng one is ok but there’s other things available.
I have been trying to find something that worked. I put a heat shield and had to remove my light. This will definitely work. I'm retired so on a limited budget but this seems affordable and needed.
GGG is awfully proud of their stuff, putting their tacky logo on everything. I just got one of these mounts for my 930 and just like yours, it's wobbly. I don't have high hopes that it will stay put under recoil and won't nick the barrel from being so wobbly. They should have included a lock washer with it, those kind with the pointy bits, to hold it on better. I'm going to test it at the range to see if it interferes with the mag tube, but after that it is only going to be on the gun for home defense, not range use.
Thanks for this. I am trying to figure out a flashlight + mount for my new Mossberg 500 12 ga, and every dern mounting system seems to get miserable reviews. The one you explain and demonstrate here seems very "commonsensical" and looks like it would avoid the fitting problems of clamp-around-the-tube systems. Good video. I used this GG-G rail and put the streamlight tlr1-hl on my shockwave. But after shooting 00 buck the mount bent from recoil. I ended up modifying a magpul forend and putting the light on an m-lok rail. Nice and study now.
Dang how many high brass shells did it take for it to bend? I just ordered this because i coupdnt find an easy and sturdy way to mount a two point sling on my maverick 88 any recommendations?
I have heard those GG&G punched steel right-angle brackets tend to bend and distort under 12 ga recoil. Have you noticed that, or is your somehow "immune" to distortion under recoil ? Thanks for your time.
I'm a lefty and mounted mine on the other side and have no wobble at all. If you look with the cap unscrewed there's actually an indent that lines up with the ball when mounted right handed. I thought I was out of luck but tried it lefty anyways, and it doesn't budge at all. Definitely worth the price

Is there a safe length that a light/laser could protrude past the end of the barrel? Or ideally, should it not protrude that far at all? Looks like your light pokes out about 1/2" or so.

Oh hell yeah, I just ordered this along with a TLR-1. I just installed a side saddle on my 590 Shockwave hours ago. Can’t wait to receive this mount.
