Thanks for the fine comparison video Mr. Hickok (and son). I enjoy nerding out here. I've owned the Mossberg for about a month now--I'm still learning to shoot it, which has been a fun process of course. I get why people might think of it as being a bit gimmicky, but having grown up in the venerable city of Detroit, where I've lived in mostly old buildings with small rooms, tight corners, and short hallways (such as the beautiful old building I've been living in for the past 5 years), it's hard not to view the Shockwave as the most practical home defense option for my particular situation (compared to the full-size 590)...
hickok45 I agree that they are limited engagement options. But are more than sufficient for HD. I have both of them as well. Probably 200 rds through each. Mossberg is my favorite as well. But the lack of a rail for light/lazer is a two point ding against it. My tac 14 looks way cool compared to the mossy. But as a sbs its a super cheap option to get into nfa items. That's what one of mine will have done probably the mossy. It can take a 1-3 rd mag extension out of box 14 in 7 rd sbs😢😉🤘🖖
I think of these as modern howdah pistols. No, they didn't hunt tigers with them, but very handy when a tiger was five feet away. Lots of modern urban tigers out there.
I came from a video of a guy complaining that this gun is useless because you can't hit anything. Then Hickok just starts blasting away. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Love it!
Thinking about getting one of these for bear defense. So far my thoughts are: Light enough to keep hiking weight down, strong enough to take out a charging bear, useful enough to find common ammo in an emergency situation.
Of course everybody knows without a shoulder stock and a longer barrel you can't really hit anything. Precedes to hit everything faster and more accurately than 99% of the population armed with a proper shotgun.
@Kevin the Duck: Jonathan Mossberg, whom no longer works for Mossberg, dabbed in that "Smart-Gun" crap for a couple years, but hasn't gone anywhere with it. Mossberg, as a company, isn't involved in that.
I see the benefit of this shotgun that it’s so small and convenient to pack that it might be a gun you actually have, instead of a gun you left at home because it wasn’t as convenient. Not necessarily better than any other shotgun but much more convenient.
it seems like it would be easier to carry when backpacking and great as a big game defense gun IMO. If you get signal flares you can siglan for rescue... plus 12 GA is the most common shotgun round and 12GA would be the most common in an apocalypse and you can reload them with a sub 500$ setup, some patience, and a willingness to learn :) Love and God bless!
Shouldn't be an issue and if it did you already spent the round. Unless your racking it and slip in that case 2 options 1.stay away from pumps 2. Get a video lol
Gonna pick one of these up, likely the Remy. I had a Mossberg full length & the receiver cracked near the ejector port after 100 rounds of 00 buck. These are perfect for home defense. All too often the "tacti-coolest" types think that in the civilian world your gonna get into a "gun fight" like the military does. Most attacks against civilians are quick assasination style attacks. These guns are perfect for high mobility in close quarters like a home.
Hickok said he is never heard about a Mossberg 'alloy' receiver cracking, "but" yours cracked.! Yes the 'steel' receiver on the Remington is stronger. I would like to get a corrosion resistant, weather proof Remington 870 Marine Magnum (add a top "or" side folding stock) with its 18" inch barrel, which is better than a Tac-14.
I have Two Remington 870 Wing Masters--both are about 50 years old. I recently got an 18 inch barrel for one of them--perfect home defense weapon. The older 870's are the best pump shotguns ever made.
For me, the difference comes down to the safety position and rack action. I'm primarily a left-handed shooter and have always loved the ambidextrous position of the Mossberg safety switch. The loading action just seems smoother on the Mossberg too. I have both Mossberg and Remington shotguns (long) and always grab the Mossberg first.
"Dont know if I can hit anything." PROCEEDS TO DEMOLISH, FROM THE HIP, EVERY TARGET HE SHOOTS AT INCLUDING A MOVING ONE! JEEZ! Aimbot assist has been engaged.
They are amazing weapon systems as long as one takes the time out to figure them out. As soon as I picked up my TAC 14, I ran about 500 rounds of various 12 gauge ammo accurately and feel quite comfortable/proficient with it. I just sent it off to get cerokoted, ported and plus 1 extension. I upgraded the trigger to the 870 police trigger group, oversized safety, McMillan trigger and upgraded the extractor from the factory crap it came with.
hoffmiermp ~Excellent idea to get it ported. Mag-na-port (Magnaport) does, The Pro-port Process: Shotgun Porting. Did you get it done at Magnaport in Michigan.?? ~One more +1 round is a great idea. ~Yes Cerakote is good, but also I would like to acquire a corrosion resistant, weather proof Remington 870 Marine Magnum (add a top "or" side 'folding stock'), has factory done electrolysis nickel plating, with its 18" inch barrel, which I personally feel is a bit better than a Tac-14. (We already have 2x 870's with longer barrels.) ~Also Crimson Trace makes a side saddle with a red 'or' green laser (for shooting from the hip) for the Remington shotguns, that you may consider just in case you were unaware it existed. ~Remington Super Cell recoil pads are about the best ones on the market, I have some of those.
I own the Mossberg shockwave “SPX” which come with a side saddle and heat shield and stuff. Cool little gun. Tips from me: 1) grip your trigger hand tight because I have seen it pop forth in some people’s hands because they weren’t holding it tight enough and that perfectly placed little thumb safety will cut up the webbing skin between your thumb and pointer if it slides up. 2) my best friends dad has a regular 590 and he went with me to the range to shoot it the first time and he said the one tip I got for you is to know that it somehow shoots “up and to the left” so just aim slightly down and to the right and it’ll hit on target. And my very first time I shot it I thought of that and made the correction mentally and what do you know, hit. Super fun guns. Draws everyone at the range to ask what it is. Blows older peoples minds that it isn’t illegal nor self-cut down so short. Good luck
@@JhonnyL3002 after a couple of years now, no problems. The shell holder is a little looser but it still holds. For a laser, I just bought a tube mounted 2inch picatinny rail and put it under the tube cap and it’s just enough real estate to hold a little pistol laser or whatever. Definitely recommend. For optics, I had a red dot on her for a little while but not for good as I don’t have enough optics for everything and that one quickly went to an AK. But no problems there either if you can stand holding it up to eye level without shouldering it
Thanks for another great video. I don't think these are "gimmicky". These are meant as defensive firearms. If I wanted a slug gun to hunt with, I wouldn't pick either of these. Nothing wrong with either of these guns if you are intending to use them inside of 20 or 30 yards.
Perfect back packing gun. Looks like a knife stickigg out of the backpack or fits entirely into a camping bag. Lightweight yet brings a punch. I have this chambered and on my shoulder every time I hike. For self defense from predators.
@@DerMeister821 I think she means she just stuffs it, muzzle down, in her backpack and zips up to each side of it. So it's protruding over her shoulder for quick acquisition
You just gave me a mental image of me walking down the center of main street in Dodge City with a pair of the ShockWaves in rapid draw scabbards hanging from my gun belt. And then I get shot in the back because I was facing the wrong direction.
Right off the bat you show us you CAN hit well with these. The detractors are usually trying to make hits that would require a stock or even a choke. Love the idea of these. Thanks
I'm a liberal who believes in the 2nd amendment. I love guns and I appreciate how you educate peoples on firearms. It is my belief that if we educate people on the safety of firearms that we can stop many of the mass shootings that happen. I'm not saying everyone should have a gun, but I am saying education on a firearm goes a long way. throwing fire at fire doesn't always solve problems in the world, but a bad man with a gun must face a righteous one with a gun too. whether it be a cop or an upstanding citizen is up for debate. but im tired of assholes with guns winning. thank you for educating me on my first shotgun purchase.
@Cole Trickle To be fair, he's still got a right just like any other American to practice the 2nd amendment. We're all on the same side because we all want to freely practice our right to protect ourselves. Not sure why you've decided to be a dumbass who tries to belittle other Americans.
Hickok, it is so amazing to have a guy like you giving out such great information to people. Never be afraid of hate comments, they are only said out of fear. Keep doing what you are doing, really appreciate you
Not much to be "afraid" of. I hope somebody will put me out of my misery when I get to the point where I ever take Internet "Hate" from people I don't know seriously. :-)
I think they CAN be. Obviously, a shoulder firearms is ideal in most situations, but a handgun is way more handy for most applications, and these things might also be desirable due to how handy they are. Guess that flies in the face of some "expert trainers," but I just base my opinions on my own experience with firearms over the years. I DO think the recoil might be excessive for some people, though.
Thanks for showing off the short shells, Glad I asked. An interesting little development that really adds to the Shorty pump/Home Defense Firearm. Good job guys !
We all love Hickok but let’s give a moment to realize the backbone of all this. Never heard of them all the way here in Florida but I gotta give it up to this damn Buds Gun Shop! Helped me find a cool ass channel and learn about firearms and sort different types out. I feel like they are severely overlooked as well as federal ammo! Thumbs up guys!
Badass home defense weapon. Won't get it grabbed away from you when turning a corner, and that one with the strap on the grip makes it even more secure. Plus you don't need to be very precise in close range combat like in a house, just point and shoot, and this baby will cut them in half. A little practice with it at the range and you'll be all set, I can't think of a better home defense weapon.
I love my shockwave and have become pretty accurate and quick with it at about 25yds using 00-buck. It's just a matter of practicing. They were flying off the shelves here in San Antonio, TX, at the beginning of 2021.
I respect this guy judgement. Every time I see his reviews, I am excited and want to buy something. I might get this mossberg. Sharing is caring. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Both these "firearms" are also available in 20 gauge. I have a 20 gauge Shockwave and love it. I have severe arthritis, and a 12 gauge without a stock is a bit much. The 20 gauge is much easier to handle, it's quieter, and has a lot less recoil. Most women should be able to shoot the 20 gauge with no problem. Just keep in mind that as defensive weapons, these are for very close range situations. I recommend birdshot. If you hit an intruder in the face with a load of 20 gauge birdshot, he is going down.
I just got the Remington 870 tac 14 hardwood because I have a Mossberg 500 cruiser with the pistol grip I replaced the forend and grip with hogue tamer forend and grip. I also put a rail and a red dot on it. I love the mossy. I didn't receive the tac 14 hardwood yet. I can't wait until it gets hear
Remington's saftey work better on pistol gripped models whereas the Mossberg safety requires shifting your grip when using a pistol gripped model. On those birds head grips or a conventional grip stock it's personal preference.
I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your content sir! Very educational and informative. You make me laugh especially when you fire the guns too because you get a kick out of it like a kid! Keep it up!
I think these are definitely viable options for home defense - just look how you were using it in your video, perfect example. Very cool comparison. I have to applaud your accuracy by the way too! Nice shooting!
I love my shockwave. With some practice you can actually shoot it somewhat accurately. The tapered barrel keeps the spread pretty close to be a short barrel. Short version... I was impressed
At 7-10 feet inside your home for HD purposes, these will work. Double buck or birdshot at those ranges will do fine. I had a Mossberg 500 12 gauge with a pistol grip, and shot it fine.
There have been conversions made like that! I wish I could remember the book I saw it in, no doubt a book on the history of the AR-15/M-16. When they started combining the grenade launchers for military use; there were even rifle/shotgun combos that were developed as well! It would be a sweet weapon to have in your hands if you have to gun down some home intruders breaking in. Mow 'em down with the rifle, or cut 'em in half with the 12ga? Decisions, decisions!
They are useful as a defensive weapon. My neighbor swears by his after 2 guys tried breaking in his house at 2am. He has a laser on his the projects a circle. The further away you are the bigger the circle to show pattern of the buckshot. It works!!! Tested it on 30 sheets of drywall at different ranges. 4 feet out to 60 feet. (The distance from his back door to his garage)
Thanks Hickok. Once again, you and your son post a non biased look at competitors. Just FYI, as I understand it, the Opsol mini clip will work with all Mossberg 500 platforms, including the Mav 88 and 590s.
Your reviews are the best, and great humor too! Just wanted to mention that I purchased the " HOGUE HANDALL " Large tactical grip sleeve for my Mossberg 590 Shockwave 20 gauge. Much better than the tape and pre-cut pieces you can buy. Fits tight and stays put.
The most important thing to consider when choosing between both models is the type of shells you'll be using in them, I own the Mossberg and run 3" Slugs and 00 buckshot through it and the safety, if you don't set the firearm up accordingly is EVIL!!!!, it will rip your hand apart. 2 3/4" shells no problem,The Remington you won't have that problem because the safety is on the trigger guard.I wrapped mine with tennis racket tape and built it up at the front of the raptor grip and that keeps my hand from making contact with the safety.Nobody seems to talk about this issue with the design.
I think I would go with the shockwave. It would be a bit lighter, and I would like the adapter for the lil shells. I think the Mossberg 590 was the first gun I ever hunted with. Plus, "shockwave" sounds a lot cooler than "tac-14"
Mossberg found a loophole by using a pistol grip and hence the designation of the Shockwave as a "firearm:", not a shotgun. A 14 inch barrel shotgun would require NFA paperwork, etc. like sawed off shotguns.
Personally I have owned and shot extensively both a Mossberg 500 and a Remington 870, and I much preferred the Mossberg for it's ergonomics (safety & slide release locations, trigger guard shape, etc.), aluminum alloy, and most importantly reliability. After shooting hundreds of rounds through both I found the Mossberg slightly more reliable 100% versus 98%. Shockwave versus Tac-14 I will take the Shockwave. I currently own a Winchester 1300 which in my experience is just as reliable as the Mossberg but aesthetically more pleasing package. If Winchester ever had the mind to make their version of a Shockwave based on their model 1300 action I would highly consider one. I think with a single point shoulder sling on any of these "firearms" could become your best friend when fishing streams in Alaskan bear country. 5 +1 rounds of Brenekke slugs up the pipe would be good bear medicine.
In every Hickok video it's terrifying how accurate and easy he makes any firearm look to point & shoot. A robber would literally be caught DEAD trespassing into his compound...
I am eternally grateful you advocate the difference and know the definition of FIREARM. Thank you for being specific with your words. I've always enjoyed your vids and your shooting adventures. Looks like you have a new camera and the quality is superb
Im from Canada and love all your videos been shooting 41 years all types of guns and am sold on the shockwave plan to pick one up will have to search around for slugs and mini shells
Mossberg hands down. Own one love it and with the OpSol mini shell adapter it is absolutely the best awesome firearm going along with your AR and 9mm or whatever you prefer. Love your videos, thank you for sharing always great watching your videos 😁👍❤️💯🇺🇸
The commentary is wonderful, brings a good chuckle to otherwise serious discussion. Love your style man! Love the content, love the guns and the information you put out.
I have a Tac14 and find its recoil punishing. I've had pistol grip shotguns and had no trouble shooting them, this one is hell to hold on to loaded with anything but low brass target loads. I'm strongly considering an SBT arm brace with the pistol grip. Kinda defeats the concept of a compact shotgun. Update... sold the 12 ga. and got the 20 ga., put a Streamlight TL Racker forend on it. Makes a great house gun and truck gun.
this could be a perfect truck gun, but out of sight and readily available is illegal with this type of firearm. concealed carry permit is for pistols and will not apply to rifles, shot guns, or these... :(
You are such a good shot! Man! Every video I’ve ever watched, with so many different firearms, you just KILL it! Love watching you and I respect your opinions! Thank you so much!!!
Remmy 870s are milled from a solid block of steel, Mossbergs arent but still are tough from what ive heard. Remington has released versions with +1 mag tube extensions and versions with them installed for like 350 bucks.
If you have an 88 Maverick you can make this pretty cheap as well...Which I am currently doing. I don't understand why some people do not see the use of this gun, this is a perfect close quarters weapon..and if you are worried about aiming put a red dot on it...no need to aim with this thing with a little practice.
Hicock you failed to realize that the remington #1 has a better trigger placement you can get a better grip on the tac due to the trigger guard being closer to the end of the reciever , #2 the safety on the mossberg is on the top of reciever where you can accidently activate it during fire when the detent becomes worn , unlike the tac 14 which is in a better location under the trigger guard , #3 its heavier to absorb more recoil , #4 the barrel is 1/2 inch shorter than the mossberg , there are pros and cons to both i have both and after the wilson combat +1 tube and spring kit installed on the tac i will say i like the tac 14 better it doesnt open my grip up like the mossberg does . i think your opinion was mossberg endorsed !
+Moashe Finklestein....I never know how to feel about Canada. Just when I think I despise them, they go & give the world luminaries like Gavin McInnes & Mark Steyn. And just when I think I adore them, they elect Trudeau. It's too exhausting to ponder for long. Besides, for as long as I can remember, the so-called "international community" has been screaming from the rooftops that we Americans need to keep to ourselves & stop trying to police the world or some such thing. So, indeed, maybe that's what we oughtta do. So I'm afraid you Canadians are on your own with the whole gun-laws thing. And, in fact, if it were up to me, I'm not sure The USA would even have any kind of military alliance with you (or any other NATO albatross) anymore. So I wish the rest of the world the best of luck. I really do. But I'm afraid we're pretty tired of it all, anymore.
+john smitty....I hope you're right. Given their view on the God-given right to self defense in general, & on gun-rights in particular, it'd seem The Religion of Leftism has effectively neutered other English-speaking nation-states outside The USA. But, as I've said, I pray God I'm wrong.
For the most part, gun laws make no sense (as in Laws don’t stop a criminal) Furthermore, most of the US military engagements and wars of the last 90 years make no sense either (as in The Never Ending Wars, In Search of Ever Lasting Peace).
+HarrisonCounty....It's hard to know what might have been. It might be true that we engage in alotta pointless wars. It might also be true that, by virtue of fighting them, they kept the barbarians away from our gates. Moreover, even if any potential benefit we gained via war was merely temporary....everything is, to some degree or another, temporary. It's just impossible to know. But I guess we can run a pretty good experiment by withdrawing from the world & seeing how well they do on their own.
Soldierboy54b “withdraw from the world” ... I’m not an isolationist. I would suggest starting with an honest government, that uses honest money. These wars would never be waged if the gov couldn’t pawn the expense onto our grandchildren. I’m also not naive to the evil powers in the world, I just don’t buy that Our government is so benevolent. It’s apparent to most that we can’t trust the media to report facts without commentary or bias. We’ve been programmed for a long time, to believe what we are told.
Hey Hickok45 , thanks for this review, a Mossberg 590/14" barrel/FDE Ceracote from Bud's is on my VERY short list! One difference I don't think you mentioned (or I missed it) between these two firearms is that the Mossberg is, I believe, pre-drilled on top for a picatinny rail, the Remington is not. To me, that's another plus for the Shockwave, could easily mount a red dot or laser there, making aiming much easier. And thanks for all your great reviews!!!
have used hockey stick tape on a few of my firearms....great tape!....holds up to abuse...recommend that y'all keep a roll handy for tools and anything with a handle.....
Have both and immediately bought a tactical brace set up for both of them. I may tax stamp both and just put Magpul stocks on both. I have since found I have revisited both both plus a REMINGTON TAC 13, the TAC 13 in my humble nobody opinion is the best option to leave in the original configuration. Less recoil and 1" less barrel at in home distances unless you’r a me-gala millionaire and you in home distance could be 25 yards these stockless shotguns with either Federal Flight Control 00 buck or Hornady Critical Defense 00 buck, both these loads in the 8 pellet config usually give very good results. I like this LEGEND we are watching love my slugs and these short barrel guns are lethal as hell.
With mossy, you get another shell in the tube and it's lighter, for the same size. For a small gun like this I would imagine that's all it would take to convince 80% of folks not to get the remington.
Those mini-shells are cool. There are some interesting offerings. I found slugs, #00, #3, and #4 buck shot and #7 1/2 bird shot. There are also some buck/bird shot combinations, #00/# 7 1/2 and #4/# 7 1/2. Not cheap, around $2/shell. But 6 pellets of #00 or 14 pellets of #4 at 1,200 feet per second are serious defensive rounds with less recoil.
I'm a lefty, and I have a Mossberg 590M full-size 12ga., and I also have a Mossberg 590M Shockwave 12ga., (the "M" stands for "Magazine" fed). I replaced the plastic safety buttons with metal one's from Brownells, and I've not had a problem with either of them (not that I'd ever had a problem before, but ... better safe than sorry). I have the original 10 round magazines that came with both, AND, I also have a 20 round magazine for both ... the 20 round magazines are just INSANE, lol. I also installed a "LS-250G Crimson Trace Shotgun Lasersaddle with Ambidextrous Control", on both 590M's. It brought my accuracy with the Shockwave up 100% since I fire the Shockwave from the hip as it has no stock, so shoulder firing is NOT an option. I use the Shockwave as my home-defense shotgun, loaded up with 2 3/4' 00 Buck, 8 shot. (The magazines are chambered for 2 3/4' ONLY)
Shooting either of the two shotguns from the hip is difficult and requires much practice if you're going to hit what you think you're aiming at. If you point and shoot you will be more successful at hitting what you're pointing at. Just be sure you are not pointing from the position not too close to your face. Also a strap at the duck head handle might help your grip and avoid the shotgun drawing first blood around your thumb area as it kicks back.
I've worked with the the old Mossberg -500' ( no stock ) and the 870' remington and both are quality working tools for close quarter work , as for those 2' their fairly new to me as far as using them but both names speak realiabilty and durability and ease of use
By the way, folks, even though I find these things fun and possibly even "useful," I don't really mean to be an advocate for them. They are just pretty cool little firearms and fun to shoot. Thinking about getting one of these for bear defense. So far my thoughts are: Light enough to keep hiking weight down, strong enough to take out a charging bear, useful enough to find common ammo in an emergency situation.
Practice drawing like crazy. Often people don't have time to draw bear spray, a pistol, or level an already held long gun with a brown bear charging.
I'd do a green laser bright enough for daytime too that will make it much easier to aim fast imo.
I'd think using it for bear defense would be a very valid use!

Well said. I have two.
Truck gun
The mini shells are way quieter, way less recoil, yet still show good gell penetration. Not to mention holding more ammo. Good stuff.
I would think the strap is to keep your hand from slipping off and keep your hand from getting in front of the barrel.
I want one
Shouldn't be an issue and if it did you already spent the round. Unless your racking it and slip in that case 2 options 1.stay away from pumps 2. Get a video lol
I think these and the "arm braces" for "pistols" have pretty much rendered most of the NFA obsolete. Time to just admit it and get rid of the NFA.
at least the government followed the Constitution and didn't outright ban a particular type of firearm like Reagan' firearms law did.
You can also put an arm brace on the shockwave 😎
Young Hustle god bless America.
ATF will just wave their magic wand and declare arm braces stocks.. just watch them!

Thats not normal, something went wrong. Send that thing back, Mossy will take care of it.
I upgraded the trigger to the 870 police trigger group, oversized safety, McMillan trigger and upgraded the extractor from the factory crap it came with.
hoffmiermp
~Excellent idea to get it ported.
(We already have 2x 870's with longer barrels.)
~Also Crimson Trace makes a side saddle with a red 'or' green laser (for shooting from the hip) for the Remington shotguns, that you may consider just in case you were unaware it existed.
Good luck
A few years late to your comment… but I’m about to peas the SPX model. Any problems with mounting optics or laser? Shell holder?
The Mossberg has the advantage of not being manufactured by Remington.
Serious business.

Could you imagine being in a gun fight against someone who shoots this good! I think the only thing worse than that would be knowing it ahead of time.
You just gave me a mental image of me walking down the center of main street in Dodge City with a pair of the ShockWaves in rapid draw scabbards hanging from my gun belt. And then I get shot in the back because I was facing the wrong direction.
You would not be alive long enough to blink!

Thank you for finally being the first to admit that they are useful...
That's why I like the mini's@@hickok45
They make good breaching guns. I have a TAC-14 with a light mounted on the pump forend. Great review as always!
The best part about watching the video is seeing you genuinely having fun.
I love my shockwave and have become pretty accurate and quick with it at about 25yds using 00-buck. It's just a matter of practicing.
They were flying off the shelves here in San Antonio, TX, at the beginning of 2021.

Gerald Scott forget the face. He wont be in a fighting mood even if you wing him.
Thank you about 20 over 12 that helps me alot. I looking for a house gun that my wife can shoot
I love my 870 but the Mossberg is a better value. Ambi safety and holds one extra round.
I'm left handed. Mossberg wins for me
I just got the Remington 870 tac 14 hardwood because I have a Mossberg 500 cruiser with the pistol grip I replaced the forend and grip with hogue tamer forend and grip. I also put a rail and a red dot on it. I love the mossy.
I didn't receive the tac 14 hardwood yet. I can't wait until it gets hear
Remington can't shoot the mini slugs. Mossberg can 😀
Mossberg has dual extractors I believe

Especially for the city. You have to train to get used to it, but you should anyways.
That pumpkin wasn't having any of that.
I love my shockwave. With some practice you can actually shoot it somewhat accurately. The tapered barrel keeps the spread pretty close to be a short barrel. Short version... I was impressed
I bought the Mossberg with the mini shells to use as a snake gun. It works great with very little recoil.
At 7-10 feet inside your home for HD purposes, these will work. Double buck or birdshot at those ranges will do fine. I had a Mossberg 500 12 gauge with a pistol grip, and shot it fine.
One of those Mossbergs would look great mounted under my AR.
Hell yea!!!
DIY MasterKey! Cool.
Sounds like an AOW to me
Would either be short barreled shotgun on a rifle or smooth bore pistol on a pistol.
"Everybody knows that without a pistol- without a shoulder stock and a longer barrel, you can't really hit anything"
Proceeds to hit everything
Your reviews are the best, and great humor too! Just wanted to mention that I purchased the " HOGUE HANDALL " Large tactical grip sleeve for my Mossberg 590 Shockwave 20 gauge. Much better than the tape and pre-cut pieces you can buy. Fits tight and stays put.
Thanks. I did not know they made that. I'll look for one.
You don't need an adapter to fire the mini shells out of the Remington I have the Remington and it cycle the mini shells perfectly
But it’s made my Freedom Group
I love Remington shotguns and benellis 👍
In every Hickok video it's terrifying how accurate and easy he makes any firearm look to point & shoot. A robber would literally be caught DEAD trespassing into his compound...

I just received this video in my recommendations 2yrs after being posted, but thanks to you and this great vid I'll purchase the Mossberg.

Yes thank u H45! I belong to multiple 2nd A groups as well, I believe there’s strength in many groups!
Love those mini shells BTW!

They dont shoot out of the shockwaves. Feeding probs. You have to buy an adapter
@@prettylady7389 do you know if they feed out of the Remington?
@@JJ_SDWR I dont think they will feed in most shotguns without an adapter
Judicious use of the word "firearm." For when you absolutely, positively....must pretend that gun laws make sense.
Baseball bat wrap also works good. Grippy and cushioned.
I just want somebody to load one up with Dragon's Breath and pretend they're Ghost Rider.
If you remove the strap on the 590 you can flip it around and put it back on to smooth out the grip instead of using the tape

I could watch him all day 😂😂. I'm currently looking into buying one of these
I'm a lefty, and I have a Mossberg 590M full-size 12ga., and I also have a Mossberg 590M Shockwave 12ga., (the "M" stands for "Magazine" fed).
(The magazines are chambered for 2 3/4' ONLY)
He must’ve been REALLY excited to shoot these, because as soon as he started he was so happy😂
Doubters : "Neither of the two have folding stocks and you're unlikely to hit targets".
Hickok45 : "Hold my beer".
Said like a BOSS!.
Yes, a person could add a top "or" (left) side 'folding stock' to it to improve it. Still keeps it compact.
Just purchased a Mossberg 590 great firearm, fun to shoot always keep safety in mind with short gun.
Picked up the mossberg in a 20 gauge...very nice gun...I didn’t like the 12 was a bit much for me.
I read that 20 gauge hits harder than 44 magnum, at close range anyway
I've worked with the the old Mossberg -500' ( no stock ) and the 870' remington and both are quality working tools for close quarter work , as for those 2' their fairly new to me as far as using them but both names speak realiabilty and durability and ease of use
