They are still in development, I have a couple of collaborations coming up too. I build all my projects outside because I have no shed or garage, so weather often plays a part in big delays or project diversions. Moving forwards I will be trying to keep my content varied and bringing in new things now and again. I'm just one man at the end of the day, so project development, filming, editing and uploading is all done by me, in my spare time, whilst working full time. Super time consuming and slow.
No offence taken honestly, just wanted to let you and others know whats going on and what I'm up to. I like to vary my projects and what I build, time is often my enemy.
What an excellent video. I very much so enjoyed your edit and content! You introduced me to some interesting sharpening jigs. Tools I'm probably too cheap to own. That vice towards the end was awesome.
traditionally the blade should be hollow ground as this helps it both hold an edge and allow for a very fine edge, hence why the effortly cut without any resistance. but i do like your style. using common cheap and available tools to make cool projects. i use similar basic tools at home and have made some impressive things like tesla coils and replica machine guns, numerous blades but im a perfectionist with these. engineer by trade so have the ability. trying to start a channel but struggle with being on camera, will let you know when i get over this and start to post
Butter knives are made of a very low carbon stainless steel that doesn't hold an edge very well. You did a great job, I just would've use a better steel.
Thank you for saying what I've been searching thru the comments to find. I knew someone else had to of brought up the low amount of carbon in the blade. To bad. Alot of time seems wasted
@@vopenacattleco Too many people know nothing about knives, and all they know is that something seems cool. I once saw a video of someone having made a knife out of cold rolled Home Depot welding plate , and read many comments of how awesome it was and " would you make me one if I paid you...ect " , nobody knew that a suitable knife had not been made.
@@ruben-wb7bt No. Different steels harden to different specifications and attributes. There are high carbon steels that most commercial knives are made from, and there are low carbon steels used for more construction/structural use. Mild (low carbon) steel will not harden to anywhere near the specs of high carbon steel, thus making a soft knife and it won't hold an edge past a few uses, it also bends easily
Dude, it's a miniature straight razer. It's a novelty item. Not to mention, straight razers are constantly being sharpened anyways so it doesn't really matter.
Instead of using olive oil, try using an oil with a higher smoke point. For example canola oil. That will allow you to reach higher temperatures, thus helping you to get the most out of the oil :)
BrainfooTV i really do. When i get some time off work ill definitely be making some of things you've done and no need to apologize you cant put a time on excellent videos 👍
What happened to the original projects?

BrainfooTV In retrospect, my comment was pretty disrespectful, I'm glad you knew what I meant.

Can't you tempering the blade so it becomes harder ?
