- First of all I am thankful to you for giving 14 minutes of your worthy time. Today i am making a Straight Razor out of rusted Bearing. This is one of my sharpest knife made ever i hope you guys will Like this video and Also i had alot of fun while making this Straight Razor. If you wanna make the same Razor here are some instructions and Physical Properties of this Razor:
Overall Weight = 133 Grams or 0.133 KG
Overall Length = Almost 8.5 Inches or 215 mm
Blade length = 2 inches or 50 mm
Handle size = 5 Inches or 127 mm
Steel Material = 52100 Hard Bearing steel
Carbon Presence = 1.0% to 1.1%
Chromium Presence = 1.6%
Quenching Temperature = 850 Degree Celsius
Tempering Temperature = 250 to 300 Degree Celsius
Precautions:
Always wear leather gloves while sanding knives. Always keep a First Aid Kit at your work place.

He can just make his own!! Just gotta grab about 90 to 95 pounds of sand, throw it in his custom-made metal foundry, heat it to over 2000 degrees, and boom! Custom-made glass mirror ready for use!

Wouldn’t the more traditional hollow ground blade have been better? I still appreciate the talent of what you’ve done here though. Beautiful piece of art!
They’re much lighter and have a little more flexibility; they’re more forgiving on the skin, which can help to reduce the risk of nicks and irritation.
The thinness also impacts feedback. With a thinner, more hollow blade, you can better feel the way the blade behaves and cuts the hairs. If there’s resistance when shaving, you’ll feel it more easily than with a wedge blade so you’ll know when the blade needs stropping or honing.
However, the thinner a blade, the more fragile and at risk of breaking it is. You have to be careful not to over-hone the blade.
I only watch this channel because it helps me sleep, like its relaxing and I just get to sleep with this videos

I remember using a buffer well at Clovis West high School back in 1976 if you have long hair you don't want to get near it some girl was using the machine her hair got in it and it sculpt her ripped the hair right off the top of her head and wrapped around the buffer wheel great video I want to see shave with it
Fantastic. If I can make one observation: next time you use charcoal for the heat treat, throw them in a cloth or trash bag and break them up with a hammer until you get 1/2" chunks. You get a better soak.

You should really start an online store for these beauties! The craftmanship of these are incredible (although I'd think I'd prefer mine to be forged from high-carbon steel over a rusty bearing haha)

Très belle vidéo , simple et efficace . Ca donne envie d'en fabriquer un tellement cela parait facile . Juste un petit détail , pour l'affilage du rasoir sur le cuir il est préférable de faire tourner celui ci par le dos arrondi de la lame pour éviter de casser le fil. Merci encore .

I would like to see You, Random Hands shaving yourself with this razor. I wish You good luck. P.S. I wonder how many of U guys have ever seen genuine German or English razor, and could see what is the difference between this "razor" and for example Solingen razor.
I have been shaving with both modern and vintage (pre 1890) straight edge razors both Sheffield Steel and Solingen for about 7 years and I would not use this to cut an orange let alone shave with. I do not profess to be able to make a razor but you can see the cutting edge was all over the place, the way he "honed" the razor was wrong. Just because it can cut hair on the arm, with a lot of downward pressure does not mean it will give a good shave on the face.
