What’s up! Nice job hiking in the cold when you hate it.. I love the way all the mountains look when they’re covered in snow and butt sliding on the way down always had me hooked!
That looked amazing! Thanks for sharing your adventure and being honest about how you found it. Your openness and realism are some of the big reasons I'm feeling confident planning an Appalachian Trail adventure. Don't know whether RUclips shows you geographic statistics about your viewers, but thanks again from the UK.
I love all your vids....wow I didnt realize the mountains in New York were so beautiful....great scenery Rocket....good job....looked like a fun time playin in the snow...you look marvelous !! Ohh....Beans cute...is Bean your best buddy !?
I had hiked in that area some years ago during the Fall and that is quite a sight to see with all the snow coverage. You did really well in that terrain and conditions. My wife wouldn't hike with me because of the steepness and said I needed to find a boyfriend to hike those areas. Nice to see you found a couple of "boy" friends to hike with.
Snow shoed many a time in the White's including the Presidental's and carried a snowboard on my back had you had the right gear you could have ice climbed that sheet. There is a spot on Mount Chicora in Sandwich NH that looked a lot like that spot but just a little bigger.
Rocket... You're in my stomping grounds in the ADKs. You ended up hiking Gothics... A pretty tough climb for a first! Great climb! I've got 36/46 WINTER 46. Mama Gecko 🦎
Butt sliding makes winter high peaks worth it. I mean... The views too, but the butt slides. Somebody did the math once and they averaged 30mph for .8 miles. And it always blows my mind when it's 20° at the parking lot, 0° at the tree line, and -20° windchills at the summit. If I were to "rank" the Adirondack hiking seasons, winter would be first. Summer/fall would tie for 2nd. Fall is pretty, and no black flies, but the human traffic can be rough. And spring definitely 4th. Eff spring hiking. Nothing but mud and bugs. I mean... I'm still going to send it,(while following mud season regulations) but with a layer of black flies on any exposed skin.
So awesome!! I followed your AT hike and was so excited to see you attempt a high peak. I'm an upstate NYer and am working on my 46er. Maybe that will be your next accomplishment??? I'm not into the winter peaks, I like spring before bugs, after summer when bugs are gone!! I've always been curious how our high peaks compare with the 'peaks' on the AT?
@@jls935 I feel your pain. I did my first Adirondack peaks last summer, going back for more this summer. At least you didn't have to rock hop because the snowpack covered the boulders! Glad to see that you had a good day.
Julia Sheehan no no you’re cooler than you think ... I really admired your videos on the AT last season ... you’re super fun and adventurous and we look forward to your PCT trip

I'm glad to see you got to experience some beauty of our beloved Adirondack Mountains!

Wow! What a kick *ass climb! No easy feat (or easy on the feet!), but, ohh ... those views ... SPECTUCULAR! Great job to all of you!

What a hike. Snow is hard to hike in for sure. You guys did awesome.
Yay! So glad you did this very close to my home!
Funny when you were looking at the camera and said "I wish the camera could catch the beauty but it can't"
Ummm... Pretty much did.

I hate the road walk going in, but love it on the way out with tired legs!
You guys going to do another peak this winter?

Awesome hike. You’ll be wearing snow shoes on the PCT! Lol Looks like you had fun.
Robert Burkhart I shouldn’t need snow shoes on the PCT but you never know! Stranger things have happened!!!
Julia Sheehan you’ll rock them in the Sierras! Might not if your start date is late. One thing is for sure you’ll rock them if you have too!

Stunning - hard to believe it's the East Coast
I wish the AT went thru the Adirondacks.. so beautiful
Unlike other AT states, the Trail in NY is quite far from its actual mountains.
Looked like a ton of fun! So, were you ever cold?
Mark Thompson only when I stopped!

Julia Sheehan no no you’re cooler than you think ... I really admired your videos on the AT last season ... you’re super fun and adventurous and we look forward to your PCT trip

Great adventure! Huge Like and greetings from Poland. When you find time, visit my channel :)
Snowshoes in less than 12 inches of snow is more work. Not less.
Thank you for wearing snowshoes, not everyone has the brains to wear them.
