I know this is so random but you have such a great speaking voice.your voice is just so clear and your diction is fantastic. I know it's such a random thing to comment but it's the one thing that really sticks out to Mel ha ha.
CARRIE IT'S THE SAME DATE AS THE FIRST DAY BACK AT HOGWARTS I HOPE YOU REALISE THIS SIGNIFICANCE (American kids can grab it and read on the Hogwarts Express journey back to school)
I'm really enjoying your book so far Carrie, I feel as though you've taught me a lot! I also want to say thank you as always for making a video that brightens my day and for recommending some amazing sounding books, that I'm definitely going to read! :D
it's so inspiring to see how busy you are and how much you are doing and doing so well!!! and you still find time to share it with us in such an engaging, cheerful way. thanks for brightening my day! :)
I always love when you do book recommendations. I'm a person who reads mostly non-fiction so I don't even begin to know where to start in looking for novels that would interest me. And all the books that I've actually gone out and got after you recommended or mentioned, I have loved. So you're sort of my book fairy.
LOOKING FOR JJ! I found this book in my school library when I was about 14, and...whoah. It has definitely stayed with me ever since as well. Haven't come across anyone else who's read it other than you, Carrie!
I have a little story about Looking For JJ! I read that in first year of high school, when I was about 12, and I adored it. Then one of my friend's dad's got tickets to see a stage production of it. We went to see it and it was incredible, such a great way of portraying the story, extremely artfully done, and I've never forgotten it. Ironically enough, 8 years later, I now go to the university where we went to go and see the play performed! Really funny how everything comes back round in a circle sometimes :) xxx
i'm thrilled that i've actually read two of your five favourites! :D I found out recently there there's a sequel to 'looking for JJ' called Finding Jennifer Jones. if you haven't read that then I'd definitely recommend, its a really intriguing follow up to the story :)
Your videos give me life! Really, when I have an anxiety attack again I put on one of your videos and it calms me. Just as I started to get it again I looked in my video feed and saw your video and watched it and now I feel soo much better! I don't know what it is about you and your videos but they make happy and calm me :) Please never ever stop 💕
My sister lives in England bc her husband is in the military. We are going to visit her in a few weeks and one of the things I am most excited about is picking up your book! Absolutely can not wait!
OKAY. So I've just started the video and I'm going to guess the 5 books she loves: All My Friends Are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman The Book Thief by Mark Zusak The Ocean At The End Of The Lane by Neil Gaiman The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher. let's see how we do.
It's probably been almost 10 years since I've read Looking for JJ and I still remember it so clearly, would love to read it again! Remember us having to read it in school and everyone being so shocked by it!
I can't wait to finally get your book. I've been wanted to read it for so long now. When my aunt and sister went to London I asked them to pick up a copy of the book for me but they never found the time to do so. I so can't wait to get my hands on a copy and read it, finally.
Finally! Someone else who's read Looking For JJ. I read it when I was about 15 and I still absolutely love it. Now that you've reminded me I'm going to have to go and find a copy so I can re-read it.
I ordered it on Amazon with the original cover already, I couldn't wait to go to Barnes and Noble! Even more glad that I got it sooner rather then later!
A certain slant of light! I read that last summer and found it really interesting. It's definitely something that I can imagine them using as inspiration for a Netflix series or film
the usa cover is so nice! and i remember wanting to read looking for jj a while ago and forgot about it, so thank you for reminding me! going to add it to my reading list
Makeup on point (as usual), beautiful girl! Also - I finished your book recently and OH MY GOSH. I love it, I love you and thank you because it has helped me in so many ways. xx
I am so very excited because I just happen to be reading Juliet, Naked right now! It's literally right next to me, I was going to continue reading after watching this video. I just find it ludicrously serendipitous that you mentioned it and now I can't wait to finish it!!
Looking for JJ... I loved that book! It is however the only book I've lost a copy of. Read it when I was younger but it was one of those books that stay with you for sure
First of all, HEY CARRIE! I hope you're good, you lovely human being! Then, oh my stars! I have 'Don't Even Think About It' upstairs in my summer reads collection (that I have been slowly buying since the end of last summer!). I may have to buy your other recommendations though, I'm certainly intrigued! You're book is also sat on the top of my summer reads pile too! I haven't read it yet because I've got exams but as soon as they finish I will be!
Carrie I got your book at 5 today and I haven't put it down yet!! Xxx such a lovely book can tell you've put so much work into it and it's amazing! 💜💛💜💛
My 5 Favourite Books, - Exploring The Earth and Moon - Patrick Moore, Mr Snow - Roger Hargreaves, Mr Daydream - Roger Hargreaves, 1986 RAC Guide Book - RAC, Farming Around The World - Louise and Richard Floethe.
Really intrigued by all of these - "A Certain Slant of Light" has been on my wish list for ages! Definitely like the sound of "My Everything" - and it's out on my birthday, yay!
I read looking for jj when i was about 10 or 11 and I can honestly say no book has ever stayed with me for this long and I completely agree with how it is kind of in a haunting or chilling way
i really want to read some of those books now! especially the first one it sounds really good. oh and also your makeup looks really pretty in this video
I have never in my life, met or known someone who has read A Certain Slant of Light! I love that book, I am 24 years old and I still to this day adore it! It's been so many years
Brought my daughter to see you today in Les Mis, but you were poorly! Hope you get better soon. We gave your understudy a little gift to pass on to you, hope you get it.
I am a screen junkie, & I used to read bucket loads in high school but have fallen out of that. But your book I will most definitely be buying and reading!
So glad that I will be able to walk into a B&N and buy your book soon!!! I wish you would do a book signing in NYC or something! I would love to meet you!
oh my goodness!!!! yay! i am so glad that your book is coming over my way. It will be out on my first day at college!!!! (or uni, as ya'll say it over there) :) super excited to get it
I love the US cover! I know that your book is going to be great no matter the cover...but as far as aesthetics go, I am now glad that I had to wait a little bit longer. : )
I have a copy of A Certain Slant of Light that I've yet to read and have owned for a few years. I forgot how awesome the synopsis sounded. I much prefer the UK cover and all of that gorgeous yellow.
Hello! The librarian actually recommended looking for JJ but I had left my card at home. When I go back, I think I will get it! My five are very different. 1. The Book Thief. A hard book to really get into but once you are, you are. 2. Fangirl. I really like Rainbow Rowell and this was so good! 3. Stargirl. The first book was much better than the second, but I still lovw both of them. 4. The Hetty Feather triology. I know its a little young but when I was seven to ten ish I LOVED these books. 5. Summers Dream. Cathy Cassidy is a pretty amazing author and writes such good books!
I am so excited! I will pre-order it and get it as soon as it is out. (No bookstores nearby. Most of the bookstores in the US are closing, due to the online sales, which is very sad.) Although, I really wish we got the yellow cover, I think I like it better.
I'm currently reading a book series and I think you would love it. The first book in the series is called "Numbers" and it is by Rachel Ward. I must say I am more in love with it than I thought...
I also read Looking for JJ when I was younger (I was 11 I think!) and I re-read it last week for the first time in 11 years. It also stayed with me in a haunting way and I never forgot how much of an impact it had on me. I also recommend reading its sequel if you haven't already, it's called Finding Jennifer Jones :)
The one book that I read when I was younger and has stayed with me is Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. I didn't read it as a teenager but when I was in primary school. Its so heart breaking and heartwarming at the same time, I think its the first time I actually cried whilst reading a book. Oh and my favourite classic novel which I read when I was about 14 which was Jane Eyre.
I loved Juliet Naked, I might reread it soon acutally. Nick Hornby brings so much humor into his writing that it's actually like reading the performance of a stand up comedian.
Wow I read Looking For JJ too when I was younger and it is such a haunting and brilliant book, even my Mum read it too and thought it was a great read.
AH yay, I'm so excited! I was gonna order it online, but now I'm going to wait because a.) I won't have to pay shipping and b.) THAT COVER THOUGH. TIS GORGEOUS.
I love looking JJ! A sequel to it called "Finding JJ" recently came out too, you should read it it's really good! Also, August 27th is my birthday so I will definitely be looking out for that book then :D xx
I am preordering one for me and one for a birthday present for a friend who loves your channel just as much as I. By it I mean All I Know Now and I love the cover.
yeeEEEES!! In September I'm going to be living in dorms that are like across the street from a Barnes and Noble and I'll (hopefully) be finished by my summer reading list by that point!!
Everytime you post a video like this, my already colossal list of books I need to read gets even bigger.
I know this is so random but you have such a great speaking voice.your voice is just so clear and your diction is fantastic. I know it's such a random thing to comment but it's the one thing that really sticks out to Mel ha ha.
I always think that as well :)
Sometimes, when I'm drawing or something. I just put on a video of her, just listen to her voice :)
Emerald Eimear I was literally thinking the same thing through the whole video!
You should watch/listen to her dear autumn series!
I'll for sure check them out, thanks! :)
