My dad used to own a bookshop. my whole childhood was full of books, I used to spend my hours continually organising and arranging books (out of pleaser I was never forced) my dad recently developed a heart condition and his 15 year long business was no more. The joy however, still lives in me as all the books he never sold live all over my house. My farther's career also lead to us finding a pre-publication version of the first Harry Potter book amongst our collection (Much excitement) I will never forget my childhood surrounded by books it is so magical.
I love how enthusiastic you get about books and bookstores! I LOVE bookstores myself - they're my happy place! So whenever I am sad I either go to the library or the nearest bookstore! However, bookstores in Denmark are really boring :( xxx
That evil smile when you blow that whistle though. XD And I love just how excited you are here. I actually just came back from my own local library with 9 books....technically 10 because I ordered one that should be coming in soon. :3 Got three weeks... I can read them all ;)
The Night Circus is my favorite book of all time. (The demo musical you sang in is BEAUTIFUL and makes me very happy!) Also, The Book Thief is amazing. Excellent choices! :D
I can't tell you how tickled I am watching your rampant enthusiasm and book-joy at discovering all these treasures. Books are most definitely my bag and bookstores (or bookshops, as you like) are wonderfully magical places. Time actually slows down, speeds up, and sometimes stops dead still in bookshops. They're a lot like a TARDIS. Thanks for sharing this.
Oh I Love how excited you were when you opened this box! You are such an insperation and you are amazing in every single way!!! (Ps i have never actually seen anybody that has one of those safety whistles it is such a good idea!) And also my cousin Georgia visited London around a week ago, and she went to watch les miserables. When she came back on the train and you were on it she said she was absolutely speechless, she was freaking out inside!! Love you carrie!
In Maastrischt, a little city in the Netherlands there is the coolest bookshop ever! It's in an old church, and there is also a little cafe inside. If you would ever visit Maastricht, you should check it out 😊
Gosh I love how excited you are. You're probably the best person to have around at Christmas time seeing as you're genuinely excited about literally everything you receive! :)
If I were stranded on a desert island, I think the 8 books that I would take would be 1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J K Rowling 2. The Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman 3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman 4. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson 5. The Dream Thief by Catherine Webber 6. Eragon by Christopher Paolini 7. Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder 8. Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, by T.S Elliot
Watching this video made me so happy and fuzzy inside that I almost cried! Thank you for making me smile after a very long day. Your giddiness is infectious.x
My town has TWO water stones so I think I'm blessed 😂 one of my favourite things is wandering and picking like a million books and then remembering I have no money and putting it on my to read list 😂
OMG! I can't put into words how much I love you, and how adorable I think you are - your excitement over the spork, and the happiness of another mug to add to your collection - SO cute! I can't wait until I have enough money so I can go to London with my boyfriend, and I can drag him to see Les Mis and ultimately, finally see you perform
That 642 places to draw reminds me of book that I just got given called 500 drawing prompts. It's pretty much just a sketch book and every single page tells you what to draw. It's really fun so far. I've been drawing for a few years now, and I usually draw off of a picture or something, but this gives me a chance to really draw just straight from my imagination.
your excitement in this video is so contagious haha! I couldn't stop smiling! I got a Books Are My Bag bag in a Waterstones over two years ago and I use it all the time, it's so pretty! (and perfect since I have an addiction to everything orange) :) xxx
Absolutely loved this video, your excitement was so contagious :) I miss going to bookshops, I used to spend hours in them! Right now physical books are too heavy for me to lift so things like kindle are a lifesaver as I love reading. I still have a pretty good collection of physical books and I'm sure that once I regain some arm strength I will go back to buying and reading books from bookshops!
I started reading again because of you and started watching so many booktube videos and then you stopped making book related videos and this video makes me so happy you have no idea
I looked it up and there are 3 Sass & Belle bookshops in London, and 1 in Brighton, but that's it at the moment. But I love this video, and I do enjoy walking through bookshops sometimes.
Okay, I usually relate to you A LOT when I watch your videos, but I think this is the one I related to you the most! I was freaking out with you with every thing you showed even though I wasn't the one opening them! Hahaha
Have you watched You've got Mail? Such a beautiful film about an independent book shop owner (Meg Ryan) and a mega chain book shop business man (Tom hanks) I think it's my favourite film :)
It's rather exciting to see someone who understands the desire to be in a book store. Just exist in one for a bit. If I can't get to one for a bit, I will find myself wondering through the book section of a nearby grocery store just to be near the books.
I saw your book in the shop and it was all I could do to not buy it right then and there (I try to limit myself to one book at a time). I'm so buying it next time around.
Carrie!! This is so off-topic, but I'm dancing in Les Miserables this year and I'm so excited! :) My school does really big musical productions every year, and I'm so happy to have gotten through the auditions again. I now want to see your show soo badly! The London-cast versions of the songs are my favourite :)
I love how exited you get for every thing it bulids as it goes on I WANT MORE BOOKS NOW.... every time i watch one of your videos i want more books as my collection is embarrassing... :-(
I don't really go to old school bookshops here because I live in Portugal but I don't like to read translated books so I usually just buy books in English ( I buy them at this shop that's really similar to hmv but has a lot more stuff and I also read quite a lot of comics so I also go to comic book shops ) I guess those count 😜 the last time I was in England I was wonder struck by watterstones and I came back with soo manny books 😜
As someone currently living in Germany I feel your pain! I've been to an English speaking country at least once a year over the past 5 years, so I usually stock up then. Once on a school trip to London I spent several hours in a waterstones and spent around a hundred pounds. Or when I filled half my suitcase with books on the way back from the USA. If you ever get a chance go to Powell's in Portland, Oregon. It's the most amazing place on earth after Hogwarts! Sorry for rambling on at you but I really like books :)
Some of my books for a desert island: 1. Ballet Shoes - Noel Streatfeild 2. The Time Traveller's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger 3. Blindness - Jose Saramago 4. The Martian - Andy Weir I LOVE buying books so much, but I've been living overseas this year, and have to take everything back on a plane from the UK to Australia, so I've had to ration myself so much, and it's really painful. I've mostly been wandering around bookshops, reading blurbs and taking photos for future reference, so there is going to be an absolute SPREE when I get home!!
I look up to you so much and (not in any stalker way), you and your book have helped me through so much with family and problems. I just want to say thank you and I'm sorry that I haven't been subscribed all years, but I'm here now so I hope that's okay
For a couple of years I've worked in a second hand bookshop, best job ever :) Gutted that I've had to leave and I have basically no time for reading due to a busy time at uni, all I have the time to read these days are big textbooks and academic journals :(
sporkIFE
+doddleoddle ahh you're on Carrie's channel !!!!! and yes SPORK LIFE
I have a spork :D
My dad used to own a bookshop. my whole childhood was full of books, I used to spend my hours continually organising and arranging books (out of pleaser I was never forced) my dad recently developed a heart condition and his 15 year long business was no more. I love how enthusiastic you get about books and bookstores! I LOVE bookstores myself - they're my happy place! So whenever I am sad I either go to the library or the nearest bookstore! However, bookstores in Denmark are really boring :( xxx
Your facial impression at the sound of the whistle literally made me laugh out loud, you gotta love Carrie
That evil smile when you blow that whistle though. XD
And I love just how excited you are here.
demo musical? is this about the night circus? highly unlikely, but if so that would absolutely make my life!
+hpispwn98 It is! My friends wrote a musical based on The Night Circus and I played Celia Bowen! It's online if you google it! :) xxx
+ItsWayPastMyBedTime that is my every possible dream come to life!!!! thank you so much for letting me know about this!
I love how excited you got about the mug and the spork!!
it's even a sporkife 😂😎
I love that Carrie's first impulse is to put the mug on her head as an expression of pure excitement
I can't tell you how tickled I am watching your rampant enthusiasm and book-joy at discovering all these treasures. I've got a tote bag with the text "I like big books and I can not lie!" on it and it's my favourite ever! :D

Your little gasps of excitement are so freaking adorable!
I absolutely love how excited she is throughout the whole video! It's so genuine and wonderful :)
In Maastrischt, a little city in the Netherlands there is the coolest bookshop ever! It's in an old church, and there is also a little cafe inside. If you would ever visit Maastricht, you should check it out 😊

I have one of those "sporks" too, and I call it a kniforoon (knife-fork-spoon) :D
I love how Carrie is always so positive ☺️💗
I adore Night Circus and Book Theif!!! That's awesome! It makes me want to read the rest because we seem to share taste in books

awesome video Carrie! made me giggle when you put your lovely new mug on your head lol xx
That 642 places to draw reminds me of book that I just got given called 500 drawing prompts. It's pretty much just a sketch book and every single page tells you what to draw. It's really fun so far. I used to hate reading (take a second to judge me) but I started to read last week and I'm loving it now
My friend and I go to Waterstones every weekend! We look around, sometimes buy books and always go to the cafe for tea! :D xxx
I can understand you so well! I just love to go into libreries just for the atmophere, even if I don't buy a thing!

The Night Circus is my all time favourite book ❤️
Same, I'd hate to live in a world without bookshops! They're awesome. Especially Waterstones - I love how they have chairs for you to sit and read
Have you watched You've got Mail? Such a beautiful film about an independent book shop owner (Meg Ryan) and a mega chain book shop business man (Tom hanks) I think it's my favourite film :)
+Bethan Hughes I was just thinking about that movie while watching this video!

+Tefans97 I don't mind the rambling and if I ever find myself in Portland I'll check it out 😊
I agree the demise of physical book shops would be heartbreaking. I love all the old fashioned book shops in London.

Hey will you do another bookshelf tour video when you have time? Your videos are so happy and fun :)
I LOVE YOU CARRIE AYY
I look up to you so much and (not in any stalker way), you and your book have helped me through so much with family and problems. I just want to say thank you and I'm sorry that I haven't been subscribed all years, but I'm here now so I hope that's okay
That book reminded me of an absolutely beautiful book I read recently called 'George' by Alex Gino. I highly recommend it to everybody!
that mischievous look on your face when you blow the whistle!
For a couple of years I've worked in a second hand bookshop, best job ever :) Gutted that I've had to leave and I have basically no time for reading due to a busy time at uni, all I have the time to read these days are big textbooks and academic journals :(
i adore tote bags!
