Hi Elana praying Cairo feels better soon, pray the new medication works, my grandson kept repeating this cough every time it eased off the next few days it was back, nothing seemed to help, He was in Barbados for the Christmas my niece took him to the doctor, the antibiotics and cough medicine he got worked so well he has not had that cough since ,Aurora is so adorable she wants to help cook lol ,I'm praying for Cairo that he gets well stay blessed ❤
I would look i to taking him to an ENT, Specialist. (ear, nose and throat). They specialize in that. His tonsils may have to come out. Bless his little heart.

It's very true that some Antibiotics do not work for certain people. I remember I kept getting an infection, and finally the doctor found the right Antibiotic that treated the infection! I don't have the name of it in front of me; however, it's written down in my important documents, so if I ever get another infection of that type I will know what to tell the doctor to prescribe. I feel for you, as a mother, having to deal with Cairo getting ill a lot. You should check into having his Tonsils removed. I remember my sister (as a child) consistently getting strept throat, and the doctor's finally suggested her Tonsils be removed. I am also told (I don't know if true) that children outgrow their Tonsils, and lose them as adults, so often they may have issues with strept throat as children, but outgrow it. Whatever the case may be, I hope Cairo gets better soon.

Wait to take the probiotics until done with the antibiotics or you will cancel them out as the antibiotics will destroy them. But, so good after. You may have been planning on doing it that way. ❤
Sorry about your son and his constant infections. I'm not saying what I'm suggesting is correct with your situation but a lot of animal products like chicken, turkey and eggs is fed antibiotics everyday. When eating a lot everyday it can cause antibiotic resistance so antibiotics won't work on infections.

My daughter got strep back to back to back also~between ages 10 & 12. She ended up getting a “strep shot” which is a little painful, as it administered in the thigh into muscle tissue. She probably weighed 60-70 pounds at the time. Anyway, the shot knocked it out...inquire with your Pediatrician. Get Well Soon. Kairo!

Oh I just seen a video by dentist that you should be throwing away tooth brush when they have strep throat or soak the tooth brush overnight in some hydrogen peroxide with water.
Sounds like your on the right track, taking him to the pediatrician. I know the medication he's on and it can be hard on the stomach, if he can take it with food, try little yogurt.
Is it possible that he’s never completely gotten over the strep throat and that it’s still the same illness from the first time? My sister, when she was young, had what was supposedly a certain illness that kept recurring, but as it turned out, it was just the same illness that never quite went away, it seem to have gotten better, but never completely went away.
I know that Kairo, as a little person, is more susceptible to illness than a "normal-sized" child, but if you got him vaxxed, and I'm pretty sure you did since you live in CA and hes in school, it hurts my heart to tell you that his battles are only going to get worse, and they're going to be escalated beyond what they would have if he weren't vaxxed. Now obviously we don't know for 100% sure that he's vaxxed, but if he is, prepare yourself, mama. It's gonna get so much worse than you could possibly imagine, and i know it sounds harsh to say, but it's reality, and i just want you to be prepared. I speak from a place of truth and love...
You probably won’t see this but That kid is just caring around a staff infection people can die from staff infection that was doctors need to get a little more serious and you can change doctors . It may even show up as Mersa and some part of his body.

Tonsils shouldn't be removed unless absolutely necessary and recommended by at least 1 docter, diet and saline rinse can help aswell as foods rich in natural antibiotics and antiviral properties

I would push for Cairo’s dr to send you to a ENT dr (ears, nose and throat dr) he may need his tonsils out.
