Nice tips, Meghan. My wife & I try to meal plan, and we do most of the time, but then slip at times. Thanks for the tips, we can definitely be better at this!
I started meal planning for my family of 5 a few years ago. I actually plan a whole month at a time. It was stressful at first, but now it has become part of my routine and I would be lost without it. Also, it saves so much money!!
I appreciate you and your channel, Meghan. I appreciate your modest approach to everything that you do and who you are as a woman. I found you back in March when I first watched your two week wait video. While I was waiting in my two week wait. You encourage me to live simpler and be content with everything that I have. I am excited for my husband and I to be in our first home and implement some of your ideas and ways of living! ❤❤
I’m late to the video but my biggest meal planning hack was a small magnetic whiteboard for my fridge each weekend I write the meals I’ll be cooking and what days, it helps me remember and saves the constant “what’s for dinners!”
A master list of favourite meals is key for our family. I try just one new dinner meal recipe every week or two for variety and keep from getting bored. Great video !
I use the free app Meal board. It’s so good! I like doing it digitally as I can move meals around as it suits. Meal planning is a total game changer- takes away daily decision fatigue for sure (& makes sure you actually cook and buy what you need)!
Lovely ! Thanks for sharing these tips 🙌 Meghan 💙💜💖 what do you think about Meal prepping and freeze meals to be used throughout the week? Does the flavors/ vitamins go away? Thank you 😊
I've been meal planning for almost two decades now. I do it fairly similarly, actually, though if I am super busy I will schedule what I'm making, because it helps me find the time for the prep work (e.g. when I was working 16-hour days). I used the big can of pumpkin for one of my own chickpea curries, and I usually use the leftovers for pumpkin chia pudding, but the pumpkin bread sounds delicious! 😊 Thanks for sharing!
with 20,30$ you can buy at supermarket 6 meals(6 days)and fruit, milk for dinner, but bread, spices, bacon to add flavor to pasta, salmon must be bought for a certain number of meals, they remain ay home for long period and force you to complete them and not to buy 6 new meals, unless having a warehouse of ingredients
Cool! I definitely meal plan every few days since I was raised in a home where my mom would just buy whatever she "thought" she needed. She'd later decide what she would cook. Often, she wasted things (and still does this). I like looking at recipes (new and old) and writing what I need, writing which recipes I'll be making in the week, and only spending money on those things that I need. Well done.
This was fun to watch! I also meal plan. I like to shop my pantry before choosing meals! I also keep a Pinterest board of recipes I've made (I move them into the folder after I make them), and consult that for some of my go-to meals!
Thanks Meghan. I love your healthy meals videos and try a few i love from your blog. I absolutely loooove fresh basil. Will you pls share the banana and pumpking loaf on your blog or here, please. Would love to tryTHAT!
Nice video. I've started to plan my meals too and yes... It's a lot better. I exactly know everyday what to eat and I manage to buy only what I need without waste. I also need to be flexible to organize myself with meals out or free meals when I want to change plans 😊
Nice video! ❤ I meal plan since 2017 and it’s such a game changer! I started by emailing my husband (and myself) with a monthly list of lunches (because here in Spain lunch is the most important meal), with the link to the recipe directly to the blogs I like or the page of my own recipe book (that I made with our favourite ones). We both work 40h outside home (we eat our homemade meals at work everyday, so we have to cook at night for the next day) and we don’t have the same schedule, so we share the cooking part (half week recipes for each) and having the recipe in the email makes everything very easy. But when I realized that life changes so fast that a monthly meal planning was too much (too many recipes without making) I began to meal plan twice a month (a two weeks plan) and in 2020 we started planning dinners too. We both are vegan and I do a lot of sport so it’s important for us to make sure that we are eating healthy and varied. Our lunches are always homemade and our dinners 4-6 times a week. We save a lot of money and time because we buy in bulk and we don’t throw away any food (we buy once a week because we don’t eat frozen or prep food and we only buy what we’re going to cook). I know it’s not a method for everybody but the effort is so worth it!!
Thank you! 🥰Especially vegetable pie, paella, tofu or seitan stews with potatoes or legumes... and a variety of salads (with quinoa, legumes and nuts) with varying ingredients. I think I don't have a "favorite" meal 🤔. For dinner, usually vegetable creams (carrots, sweet potatoes, lentils, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli...) also varying according to the day 🤩
I loved this!! Your groceries looks just like ours, most organic, rice pasta etc. Except we eat a lot of red meat I wish we loved more meatless meals 😬

Oh wow a month in advance! That's amazing! Always feels good to have a system that works. Definitely helps save money and waste less!
Before writing down my meals for thé week, I start by looking at what I have left from the previous week. I do grocery from my pantry too.

Yes! I meal plan! It saves so much time and gives me a better overall view of what we eat during the week

Great video. Miss your videos
What do you do with leftovers
Leftovers often get eaten for lunch the next day or occasionally even for dinner again. I've also freezed certain things for later!
Mind over Munch is also a great place to get recipes.

Have you ever thought about getting curtain bangs? They would look amazing on you. :)
I have!! I did kinda get them last summer but they weren't quite as short. But I may try again hehe
