Well he can't be that kind if he talks about sometimes you have to knockout tough guys to get respect and to deliver a message to the rest of the people, but the vibe I do get from him, that he is not a fighter, but I can be totally wrong. Actually, people who are too nice and kind scare me, because it's not natural.
Robert Greene reminds me of Scipio Africanus, he lets you think you are in control by your frontal attack (in all forms/passive aggressive attacks/rudeness/outshining/dominant characters/) then he retreats his center and lets you push and then he outflanks/sandwitches you in the end from the sides, the best mental game master ever. He consumes your aggressive behaviour/energy and then counterattacks, and all the time staying cool and calculated to passive aggressive attacks, never gets angry or emotional, because that is a sign of insecurity and fear. His targets are left with a feeling of being robbed and a false sense og victory (Phyrric victory) after the conversation/situation, and learn the lesson themselves. PS: Learned this from HIS books, genius.
Never seen or heard Robert Greene laugh so much in an interview. :) You nailed it, Ryan! Very interesting dialogue and I absolutely love how you engaged with him in a different way. Wish more podcasters were this interested in their guests and well prepared.
Great intvw... The more I hear Robert, the more I read his books I get a feeling that I am damn lucky to born in the same time as him to benifit from his deep wisdom, insights & learnings. A real hardcore practical person. I have already pre-ordered his book & eagerly looking fwd it in my hands.
Especially now that I’m preparing for my MCAT and my journey to become a humble, kind, skilled, and knowledgeable medical doctor; these are the exact things I need to hear. First seven minutes were powerful. Domo Arigato
I loved what he said about freeing ourselves and be fluid in the moment to adapt and toen ourselves to the actual circumstances of life.... Amazing...if we all can do that, it will be a peaceful life.... Thanks to Ryan for asking all these deep questions, very thoughtful...
Thank you for letting us take a sneak peek in the new book. I can’t wait to get mine this week! Also I like to journal about the people I meet. I’m a true believer in that everyone has a story and is unique. RG taught me that. My journals I’ve collected over the years have helped me become a better listener, and maybe not as selfish as I used to be. Definitely my hero!❤️

Great interview. First timer here. I’ve watch a good number of interviews with Robert. Out of all that I’ve seen, he certainly enjoys this interview. His spirit really lights up in this one.
Excellent approach to the interview- great preparation, along with balanced listening to answers and augmenting the conversation. Really appreciate the extensive notes on the interview. Thank you for doing this.
Key idea is to leave people better than you found them, approach them with curiosity without being judgmental...imagine if we all do that, isn't haven on earth!
Controlling the emotions is important...but in reference to anger...I think a distinction should be made between things that are light and transient and things that are personal, sacred and perhaps even a gift from an almighty relationship and therein likely are the effects of good and evil. As a distinction is made between weak and strong nuclear forces.
Well about changing jobs, i was trying myself in carpenter working. This place filled with just wrong people even on management level. I tried to learn smh, but when i get smth and started to do it good so fast, why should i stay on the same place if my boss won't give me raise? Of course I need go somewhere else to try get on higher level.
