A lot of people say St. Joseph is a bad place to live this and that but every time I visit here it looks amazing to me. The peace you feel it’s comforting. I plan on moving from CA to St Joseph in a few days.
Lived, and still living in So Cal most of my life. Did a brief stint in DFW and I am here to say that there is more to this great Nation than Cali. Best of luck, I envy you, a slower pace and a more affordable town is what I desire.
I’ve never seen so many chains on one street . Crazy! This city reminds me of where the TV show ‘Roseanne’ took place. Its got the same vibe. Looks nice. I like the old churches.
Seems like they are waging war on homeless people. This town used to be a nice place until they started propagandizing and stigmatizing and attempting to 'gentrify'. I was gonna move here until I saw the appalling way businesses all over the town were trained to f*ck over homeless people at any chance they get. Also they shut down all the charity efforts in recent times.
If I could have found a good paying job there back in the late 70s or early 80s, I would still be living there today, however, good jobs were hard to come by back then. you had to move away to get a good paying job back then.
@3:46 That looks like an old Howard Johnson's Motel there on the right (1328 N Belt Hwy, St Joseph, MO 64506) and I love those old decorative cement blocks they use to use.. Wish I could find a vintage picture of the place when it was new or still a HJ
@@newyorkhardcore3353 I'm still stuck in this area, but I'm glad to see you got tf out of St. Joe and into hardcore music. I'm into slam death metal and similar genres etc. I don't think it's exactly the most popular around here though lol.
Lived here for about 4 years when I was 16-20. I think I left right around 2010, had some fond memories of the city, and some bad ones. Moved here with my GF at the time so she could be with her mother who had a stroke (didn't think she would be around long). Made many good friends, and it was really the start of my adult life when I moved out. Was about 12 hours from where I called home, over the years met many interesting people but everyone I liked either ended up in country jail, having a kid and disconnected, or moved away. Slowly the town felt different, and I felt it was finally my time to leave as well.
Thanks for a cool st joe drive. I have some driving about st joe home video footage from the 1990's that I'm planning to upload. I have uploaded some home video of st joe places and events that are sadly no more. There's video of trails west, sacred hills, the national military heritage museum and penn street antique mall on my RUclips channel.
Same, but I never worked at Triumph, worked at the McDonalds on lake ave about 2 miles away from Triumph. I would always walk down to lake Trenton?? About a mile from Triumph to hang out with my friends.
I been to saint Joseph, mo twice both times through triumph foods. We got recruited fr.houston tx the 1'st time. & 2nd time was back in September of 2022. I really luv this town. I personally don't know anybody from saint jo, I'm a divorced 49 year old man. Who works nestle Purina pet company I'd luv to really know how to apply with that co.
I deliver food in this town almost every day. l live here. We should see if we could make a lot of money from videos. I know almost every street in town. I can almost deliver the next day food today. Your video went north belt to messanie right on messanie to 10th right on 10 th. 10 th to faraon left on faraon then left on 6th by the police station then it ended right by the loft apartments downtown.
1:24 The restaurant on the right next to the Pizza Hut changes over every 9 months. Fortunately Sotelo found a good location and is still in business, but that place starts up and closes down every nine months. 4:03 You are not homeless. You are a liar and a con artist. Put down the sign and get a job. 4:14 Illegal U-Turn. 4:54 It is the most meta thing ever. I am on my day off watching a video of the drive I make to work. Here's where I turn right. 6:15 Ah, Messanie at 35th Street. Once we get to 22nd and Messanie, you're entering the Hood. 7:15 28th & Messanie. There you go. The Hood. 9:08 Since they legalized pot, there's the U.S. Oil on 22nd. Shop local. Just not after dark. 11:22 Approaching Downtown, City Hall and the Pony Express statue. 13:46 On the left is the Courthouse. On the right is the Jail and Police HQ. 14:00 Look, everybody! Our city used to have architects!
I haven't been to St. Joe for many years. Thanks' for the ride.

Did you end up moving here 😅
Compared to LA and SF it's paradise but it's still an armpit 🤣 Having said that I still miss it because Glasgow, Kentucky is an anus.
Hola en san yose misuri es una sola de terremotos?😊

What do people do in this kind of place? How do they make their living?

I've not been here in 14 years, weird how so much of it looks exactly how I remember yet other parts dramatically different at the same time.

Every town has crappy people unfortunately.
One of the dingiest, depressing, meth towns I’ve ever had the displeasure of being in. Almost that entire town is a cesspool.
