I have a Stiga which is very similar. I got it because with a 2.2kW motor and separate drive motor it approximates to the power of a petrol lawnmower, except it doesn't quite. I mostly mulch, even when I shouldn't because I would be forever stopping and emptying bags and I believe the goodness should go back to the soil. However it does stop due to grass clumping and sticking between the blade and deck, which my petrol mower doesn't until it is totally packed with grass. That said the Stiga is lighter and more manoeuvrable and having a separate drive motor does mean you can stop driving but leave the blades turning whilst you turn round. It still annoys me that it powers down after a few seconds though, and the on/off button is fiddly if you are wearing gardening gloves.
The Stiga makes the same rear wheel clunking sound as you move it around and sometimes locks up making it hard to turn, as also happens on my DR Strimmer mowers and Billy Goat leaf vacuum. I think it is the lack of a differential, relying on the drive ratchet on each wheel to disengage, so backing up a few inches can help release it. My Honda mower does not do this, but I think it has a differential as well as the ratchets.
With the Stiga there is an infuriating delay between selecting drive and the mower actually moving. Also the Stiga motor speed control is like a volume knob down the side of the handle so it is difficult to dynamically alter the speed as you are mowing and certainly not as you go round obstacles. I much prefer a system where the speed is proportional to the hand pressure on the bar or there is a thumb control, which the Honda has.
Personally I like individual wheel height adjusters so I can run the mower down a raised curb but the Stiga has a central control. Fortunately it is a lighter mower so I can just about hold it up on one side whilst I do this but as I am approaching 70 not for much longer!
    PS
Oh and yes the Stiga has a similar battery compartment, which I have already broken pushing under bushes! A replacement cover is waiting for me at the supplier.

I got the yellow 26 inch dual blade mower today. Took me 20 minutes and couple of trips into the house before finding a video that explained the stupid blade starting requirement. It's annoying, but I can live it. The Maximum Overdrive runaway self-propel function might be a deal breaker for me. It wouldn't bother me if all I had to do was squeexe the blade switches, but you have to do the two-hand startup every time. Who designed this thing, Boeing? It's like their auto stall system where you have to flip a switch, pull a lever, and crank a wheel to keep it from flying itself into the ground. Hopefully, all these idiotic functions are in the switches themselves and I can hack a workaround. How hard is it to just have a switch be an on and off switch? Not hard.

I have 2 cycle lawn boys. One is a 1990 F series engine. And the other is a 2001 Duraforce. Great mowers. No oil changes, ever! Wouldn’t trade them for any battery or 4 cycle gas mower.

I’m just the opposite. I’ve had a Lawnboy Silver Series with a 6.5 HP Duraforce 2 stroke engine for 21 years. It still runs great but burns through coils every couple seasons now. And finally the self propelled cable snapped and I had to push that 90 pound beast through my yard. I went to Ace and bought an EGO 2135SP and will never look back. The EGO definitely outperforms my Lawnboy. 👍🏻✌🏻

I just bought a new HRN and after the first start the motor is very hard to turn over in the same mowing session while the motor is still warm. It felt like I was going to break the cord and had to slightly pull, let off and pull again. Tested it maybe a dozen times and got the same result. Does this sound like the motor just has really high compression being new or would you consider swapping it for another unit? Bought it at Lowe’s so that would be easy. Thanks in advance!

Basically its a shiny P.O.S. I stick with a quality Gas powered mower. Take care of it and it will last you 15-20 years. No expensive batteries, fill the tank up in 30 seconds, instead 90 minutes charges. This electric stuff is a total scam. All about mass control. Don’t fall for it. Good review though. Honest.

No need to be so negative on what otherwise is a fine.....FINE mower, I tell you.
Janky Handlebars = Flexibility to twist avoiding low hanging trees!
Meager headlamps = Finely tuned for closeup hangnail removal!
Unstable height deck = Hugs the variable terrain for that close shave!
Clicky plastic battery hinge = Auditory alarm that all important battery compartment is opening!
Grindey Rear Wheel gear = Like playing cards in bicycle wheels, makes you sound cooler!
Motor cuts off during mow = Labor board mandated rest periods, to ease your working discomfort!
To finish this unit off, we just have to replace that nasty metal deck with a lightweight plasticky deck with Fischer Price™ molded blades.

I know this isn't supposed to be an example of a top of the line electric push mower, but there is no way I could stand using this with the handlebars acting like that and what could be a faulty wire that is causing the mower to stop. When it gets hot later in the year you might start seeing overheating issues to go with it if it doesn't fail altogether.
Then again, it takes almost 3 hours for me to mow the lawn if I have to rely on a push mower alone to do it, so I'm not in the market for an electric anyway. Gas operated all day.
