When I was little and Taxi was still in production I literally thought Christopher Lloyd was a drug addict with mental problems. I didn't know he was an actor, even after Back to the Future came out; I didn't make the connection that Doc was the same guy as "Reverend" Jim Ignatowski, and I was 9 when I saw BttF. I don't know if that is a testament to Christopher Lloyd's acting ability or how dumb and gullible I was (am) as a small town kid.
@@Tom_Van_Zandt haha don't feel bad. I thought Pokemon voices were from actual Pokemon. My brain was blown when I found out it was humans making those noises.
So if the store is built right over the spot where Christopher Lloyd died, and that's why his spirit is haunting it...does that mean he haunted the building when it was still a Toys R Us? Did his spirit possess GI-Joe and TMNT figures?
Every October I find myself binging monster madness and avgn themed Halloween episodes. It’s become a true tradition. Thanks for all you do to provide us such awesome content James, we appreciate you 🙏
Those Beistle halloween cut-outs are so amazing...even as a kid I was astonished by them. Definitely nostalgic to me. Still have them burried away in storage some where around here with all the other holiday decorations.
The animatronic with a mallet and buzz saw for hands is a reference to Judge Doom from who Framed Roger Rabbit. Those are the 2 weapons he attacked Eddie Valiant with.
Love Christopher Lloyd. I was just thinking about him in Over the Garden Wall. It also stars Elijah Wood, so that makes it a Back to the Future Part II reunion. 😉
So cool. In my small town here in Florida, our Spirit Halloween is also in an old Toys R Us. But hey I’m glad to see Monster Madness! James has been an inspiration to me and my low budget filmmaking!
At the beginning of this you mentioned the rating system. I'd personally love to see your views on the rating system over the years from where it started to where it has come to currently. Just a thought.
Man, I was never a huge fan of the Goosebumps show but Are you Afraid of the Dark had some legit creepy episodes. Some of the story ideas they came up were pretty unsettling. I still remember the episode about the kid freezing to death outside, close to an isolated cabin in the woods, and him showing up outside their bedroom window at night saying, "I'm cold." Or that one with the dead girls spirit being trapped inside a doll house (I think...?). Nightmare fuel.
Pretty disappointed Spirit Halloween didn't open a location in my town this year. I guess they couldn't find an available location, it was always somewhere different in previous years. Maybe it's an issue of rental costs. Oh well, hopefully next year.
"I think more stores should make movies" With Wal-Mart in Ghostbusters Afterlife and Walgreens in Hocus Pocus 2 I think you might be getting your wish lol
I love hearing you mention AYAotD! Even thought about doing a retrospective of your favorite episodes? I loved the one where people got trapped in paintings after signing them, or the prep school with the gruel and the eggs in the basement!
Even better that the animatronics used in the movie are actual ones from the store specifically Grim, Mr Dark, Buzzsaw, Nightcrawler, the jumping spiders, among others.
hearing James talk over trap music over these past couple videos has been so strangely cursed. is it a mandate or smthg? could they not find smthg that better fits his personality?
You can’t forget his other sinister rolls as the headmaster of the amazing stories episode called head of the class where he gets his head chopped off or something and the two students, Romans house being haunted by him lol
Man, being an exJW it is for me super cool to see how Halloween is lived, and from Spain, I'm celebrating it in all the ways possible, being CelticSamhain too, meaning that Halloween's eve is both in 31thOctober and 30thNovember ;)
Last year I rebought those die cut decorations. Got all the ones I had as a kid. A place here in PA called Scare Pros had ALL of them. There is your shameless plug because I love that store.
Spirit Halloween just means every other person dressed the same at every Halloween Party you attend. Spirit is great at catching the zeitgeist of the unoriginal and uninspired.
James, you should urgently watch Guillermo del Toro’s cabinet of curiosities and give us your opinion. In mine, it is an outstanding and very entertaining work, finally something at the level of the twilight zone
Wish they made it scarier. Even R' You Afraid of the Dark & Goosebumps had really scary episodes. Will watch if i get the chance. Also.... daym, Christoper Llyod! 🎃❤️🇵🇭💀👻
You left off Lloyd's other great villain, the guy who blew up a ship, with his girlfriend on it, because she had watched a video, that he immediately shared with his officers. "You should beam up the Vulcan too." "No!" "Why?" "Because you want it."
Eh. An updated Are You Afraid Of The Dark segment stretched out to feature length is enough nostalgia catnip for me. And while I do like my gore and gruesome for Halloween there's nothing wrong a little playfully spooky fair to please my inner 10 year old. ^.^
It's been well over a decade that I've been watching Monster Madness...and it still hasn't lost it's charm. It's not Halloween without Monster Madness!!
I'm just happy to see Christopher Lloyd still in movies 🥰
He’s in one called Dead by Dawn (I think). It’s pretty fun
So happy he's still kicking too.
He can play in movies forever thanks to his car! He's already filmed a 2029 Marvel movie!

I can’t enjoy October without hearing James say “It’s Cinemassacre’s Monster Madness!”
“It’s Cinemassacre’s MAAAAAAAAWWWWNSTER MADNESS!!!”
@@anth636 thank you
It's definitely a tradition of mine
I used to be like that when it was James who wrote the scripts
Hey I'm Justin
So if the store is built right over the spot where Christopher Lloyd died, and that's why his spirit is haunting it...does that mean he haunted the building when it was still a Toys R Us? Did his spirit possess GI-Joe and TMNT figures?
Must have been that haunted Toys R Us from that series narrated by Lenard Nemoy
You're spoiling the prequel!
I love that James keeps doing Monster Madness. I really do appreciate his insight into these films.
Seeing Christopher Lloyd makes me want to rewatch the BTTF movies
Every October I find myself binging monster madness and avgn themed Halloween episodes. It’s become a true tradition. Thanks for all you do to provide us such awesome content James, we appreciate you 🙏
Same dude
I view monster madness as a birthday present from James.
Monster Madness is one of the best horror gateways.
Monster Madness is a modern day tradition here as well.
It’s my favorite part of the season :)
Christopher Lloyd is a national treasure, happy to see he's doing great
Glad to see you share my enthusiasm for the Spirit Halloween stores. 🎃
Listening to James just talk about horror movies is a tradition I follow every October
Now I'm wondering what if Wes Craven and Mel Brooks made a horror movie together in the 80s. I wonder what it be like.
Those Beistle halloween cut-outs are so amazing...even as a kid I was astonished by them. Definitely nostalgic to me. Still have them burried away in storage some where around here with all the other holiday decorations.
I agree
Wu Tang forever

I remember "Are you afraid of the dark?". I watched it back in 1997. I also read many "Goose bumps", back in 1998.

I went to this store when it was a toys r us every year for my birthday as a kid. Seeing it in a movie and as a fun seasonal store makes me smile.
Definitely feels like a goosebumps or are you afraid of the dark episode. That’s sweet we need more fun and simple stuff like that nowadays
the goosebumps movies were better than this one
@@joedirtbag6662 Nice, I only saw the old show in the 90’s

Let's be blessed Christopher Lloyd is still doing films.
Monster Madness has become an October tradition. Look forward to it every year
I'd love to see a review on Terrifier 2 because I know James would have the stomach for it
Very interesting. I’ve not even heard of this film until now. Thanks for talking about it James, keep up the great work and take care!
As a fan of Mr. Boogedy, my threshold for cheesy Halloween movies is pretty impressive.
Don't forget the feature length Bride of Boogedy!! Boogedy boogedy boooooooo
@@puddlestheninja Just kidding!
You should review Barbarian
You should make a horror movie, James! I'd love to see what you could come up with!
I can’t wait for K-Mart: The Movie
The scariest part of Spirit is the stories the employees tell.
They'll make movies out of anything these days!
0:25 HEY thats an old TOysRus!
Art the clown was in a Spirit Halloween store in Terrifier 2. It didn't show the name, but you could definitely tell it was a Spirit store.
Pretty disappointed Spirit Halloween didn't open a location in my town this year. I guess they couldn't find an available location, it was always somewhere different in previous years. Maybe it's an issue of rental costs. Oh well, hopefully next year.

How about one in a Planned Parenthood? A movie about the ghosts of babies haunting it lol
This is the beginning of the Retail Cinematic Universe!

James’ horror/Halloween themed videos are a treat every year. Keep it up 👍🏻
I think this is another one of those scrapped five nights at Freddy's scripts that a studio retooled into something else
If James was a super hero, his super power would be nostalgia.
And his nemesis would be the Critic ?
Even better that the animatronics used in the movie are actual ones from the store specifically Grim, Mr Dark, Buzzsaw, Nightcrawler, the jumping spiders, among others.
Christopher Lloyd also starred in a 2001 Fox Family TV movie named When Good Ghouls Go Bad.
hearing James talk over trap music over these past couple videos has been so strangely cursed. is it a mandate or smthg? could they not find smthg that better fits his personality?
I agree, especially during a Monster Madness video lol
Christopher Lloyd is the only celebrity I share a birthday with worth remembering.
I must point out that you also share a birthday with Jeff Goldblum, and my dad.
@@aaronfletcher8745 I stand corrected.
And Bob Odenkirk.
wow, that's awesome that they got Lloyd for this, he must really be a fan of the store.
Christopher Loyd makes alot of people happy from his movies besides back to the future. Camp Nowhere and angels in the outfield were awesome too
You can’t forget his other sinister rolls as the headmaster of the amazing stories episode called head of the class where he gets his head chopped off or something and the two students, Romans house being haunted by him lol
My Grandpa was in the movie the Regenrated man just to Jame's upper left (technically his right) and I went to the premiere lol
I'd love to see you review Barbarian, a horror movie that came out this year! Would really want to see what you think of it.
They really make a Movie out of a store? What's next? I can't wait for the Party Town Movie.
I am so happy that James is evolving as a relevant content creator. I’m trying to balance that notion with selfishly wanting more avgn.
I'd love a video going over the history and changes of the mpaa
Thanks for this Halloween stuff. I really love it an appreciate it
This is like a movie perfect for James.
I worked at the Halloween Adventure on Business Route 1 by Oxford Valley Mall and their back stockroom is haunted
i thought the Scary Stories to tell in the Dark movie was way better, would like to hear James to talk about that one
great episode, wonder if we could do spooky music in the background instead hmmmmm
Can we crowd fund "Die Cuts" I would love to see that movie.

Christopher Lloyd was also awesome as Hal's dad in Malcolm in the Middle.
Reverend Jim, Taxi.
You should review “Terrifier 2” it’s a great Halloween movie for sure! 🎃
Great video James. Love Monster Madness. 🎃
Happy Halloween James ! Monster madness is such a huge deal for me in October 🎃 thanks for doing it this year 🎃

This was filmed in my hometown :) I grew up going to that Toys R Us as a kid. And I’m glad that you like the scenery of our town!
Great review, thanks a lot James!
Didn't even know the movie was coming out this soon. The movie popped up just like the stores.
There was something on Netflix with the same concept
LOL I had to see james review this, what a movie
Halloween isn’t the same with James. Thanks again for the memories, dude
Mr. Boogedy (forgotten Disney regular tv movie) "Boogedy, Boogedy, Boo!" - something like that.
You should watch Terrifier 2 this Halloween James, it's a refreshing take on the 80's style horror
Cinamassacre I live your vids
James has become part of the Halloween tradition for me.
Great Scott!! Run for it James!
The scariest thing about going into a Spirit Halloween store is how empty my wallet is when I leave... :)
Come on man, a Spector? It’s Mr Dark.

Duuuude James! You gotta make "DIE-Cuts" man!
I feel it should be noted Walmart was making their own movies (most notably "The Jensen Project") for a while.
Love Christopher Lloyd. makes me so happy to see him again.
Christopher Lloyd was awesome in Nobody. I thought for sure he was going to get killed in the retirement home. Nope.

"You should beam up the Vulcan too."

"Why?"
"Because you want it."
Great way to get ready for Halloween!
Lloyd looks younger now than he did in '85 lol
Christopher Lloyd is one of my favorite actors
