Welcome to the Yoyoka Shuffle, ladies and gentlemen.
Yoyoka masters it to perfection.
SMOOOOOOOTH
Yoyoka, it baffles me how you can play rock and funk so well and then easily slide into jazz where it’s so obviously a natural fit for you. Beautiful. Domo.
There all natural for her not just jazz.
Thank you to the Ken Okada Group for including Yoyoka in your projects. She seems to be the perfect fit with you. What a great combo.
The musicianship is off the charts, but the mixing is also first class and the decision to make the video black and white was a great call! Thanks to all, the musicians and production team!
I've been watching Yoyoka's progress since the beginning and all I can say is WOW! Thank you for sharing your journey and keep following your dreams. You have proven you can do anything! 🎶
Thank you sooo much!
This is Yoyoka's quote from the previous song chat:
This group always records in one take.
On this day, we recorded seven songs in one day. Most of them were heard for the first time that day, arranged and created on the spot.
Remarkable.
How are they created on the spot but have sheet music?
@@ThePallidor You should watch Ken Okada's interview, he explains everything. He only writes jazz Real Book for his songs, just the basic, core information about the songs. He likes to keep charts minimal, so the other players can use their own voice. He's letting other musicians create their own interpretations, based on that core information.
So yes, songs are arranged and created on the spot. And that is not written down. And because of that you will never hear them playing those songs exactly the same.
They're just jamming
@@pcarhe Where's this interview? I understand the idea but I'd like to hear what else he says.
@@ThePallidor I can't post direct link, just search for Ken Okada interview
Or the title
Episode #104 Noriyuki “Ken” Okada - Jazz bassist, composer, and arranger.
Remember when the Weather Channel used to play super chill jazz music? Man they really knew how to pick them. Chick Corea, Dave Grusin, Chet Atkins, both Chuck AND Gap Mangione. Obviously Weather Report. This song would have been right at home on their meteorological playlists.
Amazing band, and an amazing opportunity for Yoyoka to grow and excel. Her maturity level is off the charts.🙂
A GREAT back beat shuffle to guide the silky smooth tune!!! In a related story, enjoyment has increased to 100%, while Mosh Pit injuries have decreased to 0.
What a great vibe ❤ so happy to follow along on Yoyoka's musical adventures 👍
This jazz is wonderful. Thank you Ken Okada Group and hugs to Yoyoka.
Yoyoka looks like she's been part of this group from the word go.💗🥁
Well she has!
@Rob-Yule Rob's right. After jamming with Yoyoka Ken formed the group. It's yet another aspect of the "Yoyoka effect"!
Thank you Yoyoka for showering us with such beautiful pieces of music, always a pleasure to hear you.
penetrate my soul..I can hear this whole day... shuffles from heaven❤
Great job by all, thanks Yoyoka for hosting another wonderful premiere.
I was taking my daily hike listening to Zeppelin and John Bonham's isolated drum tracks (the best booster there is) so I took a break and listened to this...that’s so calm, what a contrast! I confess that I'm not a fan of jazz but I'm acquiring a certain taste because of Yoyoka...
I'm hoping she takes on Opeth next!
Yoyoka in professional mode. How does she make it look so easy? I’m enjoying the keyboards on this album.
Another delicious tune! Too short I was wanting it to go on .
As usual Yoyoka does the upbeat downbeat shuffle
So far I've enjoyed this album more then the first. great job everyone fantastic. Yoyoka your growing by leaps and bounds .❤👍
I’m hearing an amazing Jeff Porcaro influence in this shuffle. Love it! Keep up the great playing - we’re excited to see where your great talent will lead you to
sounds so good. love that shuffle.
So impressive. Playing that high hat with one stick making it sound like two. You are really coming into your own, Yoyoka. My hat is off to you! I remember Bicycle and Happy like it was yesterday. Cogi, cogi, cogi...sp?
I am not usually the typical jazz listener, but with a special interest in execution and precision of drums and Yoyo as a guide, I am drawn into this.
Wonderful to hear new music that is good.
The shuffle in this one is a little bit faster than the original Purdie shuffle - more like Porcaro shuffle 82 bpm
Bernard was influenced by New Orleans marching bands playing at jazz funerals when he made his shuffle
I like the variations that she plays - ghost accents after two and four and accents only on four.
Murray Low is a nice addition.
This is a supergroup!
A perfect tune to relax to at the end of a busy day. This album is gonna be just as amazing as the first one!
Very mellow.
Smooth
Lovely piece of music.
Great job, Yoyoka!!!
Wonder if she realizes how special she is?😊
sooo sweet, the quiet storm!
Definitely the best jazz out here today
Already a great jazz drummer. I hope you continue on this path Yoyoka. I love jazz and i think you do also. I wish you the best.😊
Another superb track - Great band!!
That percussion is pumping... Popping to the pound of perfection! Excellent ensemble!!! 👻🎉✨

ジム上がりの泥のような体に吹き込まれるセロトニンをいただきまーした^-^*
癒された わたしわ水になりたぃ... 😌
😲
Wonderful shuffle!!! Amazed ❤
Smooth and polished! Excellent!
Oooh, Toto’s calling
Ken: Yoyoka can you play a shuffle?
Yoyoka: Which one? Gadd? Purdie? Bonham or Pocaro? Or maybe the Texas shuffle. Never mind. The answer is you bet!
❣️🤗
👋🇦🇺🙏😏🎶🤙
I'm assuming the Yamaha drum-set? Sounded good to me! Hello from TEXAS!
今回の録音からドラムの力が抜けて、バンドと馴染むようになっていいね
題名から想像して落ち着いた曲だろうと思っていましたが予想通りバラード調ですがメロディアスないい曲です。
