Easy to use touch screen, can stop and re-set time ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB and temp at any point in the cooking process, unlike some of these (an Ultrean model we returned) that need to time down first to re-set, which waste power and time. Stays cool externally and the 3 beeps when done aren't that bad, 5 beeps for Shake reminder on the pre-sets. So far chiken, pork chops, grilled cheese, hot dogs, asparagus with prosciutto, frozen sweet potato fries, have all turned out really well. Holds 4 average drummies which works well for 2 people. The recipe booklet is great. This size unit doesn't take up too much space on the counter-top so that's a bonus. We're looking forward to using it even more in the summer instead of the oven, to keep the house cooler when we aren't barbequing. Less cleanup than with an oven. The detachable inner basket is easy to use, no problem with the screws as some have commented, but a simple screw driver would remedy that if it happens. We really love this little gizmo!!
You can't have the grease drippings fall directly onto the heating elements at the bottom. You have to put the baking tray under the air fryer basket that you used.
SORRY but I used the griddle as directed to grill meat. My house was so smokey it was frightening. I also had to open windows, patio doors and use a fan to blow the smoke out of the house. The smell from the meat smoke remained for days. by the way the meat I grilled cooked very well but the smoke was outrageous. Next that drip pan is difficult to clean if at all. I called the company and they said that I didn't clean it properly. I argued that and had a witness that noticed how the grease from the meat stuck to that drip pan. They said since I bought the PowerXL just a week ago, they will replace it but I must pay the $10 shipping fee. Lastly, the fan inside is so stained with grease spatters from regular grilling that it's IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Therefore I did keep the packaging and even if I have to get an opinion from the fire department, IM REQUESTING A REFUND. Just me!
I have one and it’s not the instructions. The instructions tell you to place them under the heating elements. I have the same issues with mine and I’m just going to get rid of it.
I actually bought 2 of these at first, giving one to my sister. We actually used it a lot like you said - fries, nuggets, onion rings, etc... Like others have experienced the heating element burned out - it was still under warranty (lucky me) and I paid about $45 to ship it back - they sent me a whole new one and I have double accessories. We still use that replacement and most recently, fallen in love with the grill plates for burgers, bacon, etc.... The oven light and the front ("on" indicator) light are both gone now and from the sound of it, the fan may be on its last leg. I will use it as long as it cooks - after that, who knows? The accessories are probably the most valuable part of the purchase.
On page 10 of the owner's manual there is a note under Using the Crisper Tray that says: "...to cook food with a higher moisture content, use the Baking Pan below the Tray or Rack to catch any dripping juices." I've done that and had no problems.
If the temperature is too high, it will smoke lower the temperature after pre heat 400 and lower it about 300 and cook on air frier leave the grill pan on so the grease wont drip om top of the elements. before putting the wing on it brush them with some virgin oil then place the wing on the pizza rag, cook it for 20 minutes and the flit the wing and cook for another 15 minutes they will get nice and tender and crispy. Thanks. sent me the grill I pay for shipping lol God bless you brother
How do you clean this? Mine is a mess after a few months. The grease just splashes all over and bakes in so you can't clean it even after using. It looks so nasty inside
The smoke was from the excess moisture and grease dripping on the heating elements. Suppose to use pizza grill and baking pan on the bottom to catch runoffs
Have a slightly different model with the big heating element and fan on top. If I'm making something extra greasy like chicken thighs I tear up 2 pieces of old bread and put on drip tray. Absorbs grease and doesn't smoke.
I have been wanting to buy the PowerXL Air Fryer/microwave family size unit, but now after watching no less then 10 videos and am not convinced that I want one any longer.
When cooking chicken you have to put the baking pan underneath the chicken can it can catch the dripping from hitting the heating element that will help with the smoking if you don't it will distribute the heating element
Well, I love mine!! I haven't baked a cake yet. I have cooked chicken tenders (10 minutes ago) hot dogs and burgers on the grill part, fries and onion rings and fish and chicken tenders, in the basket. Perfect everytime and I have not had the smoke at all, not even a little bit! I highly recommend this product, I absolutely love it!
I totally agree with this gentleman I have purchased a power XL air fryer Grill plus and everytime I have tried to cook chicken in it grilled chicken it has smoked up my house the temperature settings is way off even when I turn the heat down it's still was too high and smoked up my house I am so done with with this power XL air fryer Grill Plus
I can't criticize him too much because I don't own the machine but common sense will tell you that if a closed oven has been pre heated at+90 degrees then set to 350 that brings the total to over 440! It's going to take a while for the temp to adjust, which is why food continues to cook even after the heat is turned off. However, his demo has been useful because that was a LOT of smoke!
I knew it was going to smoke b4 you even started.... A little common sence could have ended you with some great chicken. I'll be making a video soon to show why I LOVE this. I made pork chops and curly fries. It was amazing.
I looked at your channel because I wanted to see your video. I'm needing to know how to cook meat and veggies at the same time. Or like burgers and fries simultaneously. Which settings are used to cook more than two things etc...
I love when people try and insult but can't even spell "common sense" correctly🤦♂️🤣🤣 I think they teach that one in preschool, or maybe even kindergarten, can't quite remember. So with that being said, I bet that persons review sucked harder than the vaccum cleaner I stuck a Tony Romo sticker on the side of. Just imagine sucking more than a vacuum with a Romo sticker on the side of it because people that try and insult but can't spell worth shit, they do exactly that, THEY SUCK, and their reviews suck even more than they do!! Have some common sense and learn how to spell before you try insulting someone that's all, now carry on my little dirt devil.
Hi James. Thank you for your time and effort for this video. I own this Air fryer grill and have the same smoking issue. However, I just opened my windows and let the house air out. I also have baked an apple pie (several times) and it came out delicious! It may not be a perfect appliance for everyone but it works. Hope you were able to rehome your Power XL Air Fryer Grill! God bless and much love to you and your family! Keep up the reviews!!
Wow! I was watching a commercial about this thing, almost pulled out my card and bought 1. And decided to go to youtube for a review. Glad i did. Thanks. 👍🏿
Yeah too good to be true, My mistake and the wife asks are you doing right burgers really? The only thing that cooked smoke everywhere and I burned my hands on top of that
James lol you were so right with your first video on the PowerXL AIR FRYER . I did the same thing with chicken and the drip pan almost got on fire it burned so fast!! I was disappointed and followed exactly how the instructions told me to do.. I learned over a week after using it to use aluminum foil for the drippings. Thank you for both updates and keeping it real.. Keep putting your videos out their and your honesty so people who buy these products wont get scammed..
Picked this up Sunday afternoon and cooked 5 wings in it last night after washing all the components as directed in the instructions. I also put the bake pan underneath the crisper basket to catch drippings. Drip tray was also on the bottom. Followed owner's manual word for word. I also used the wing recipe in the cookbook that came with it. Cut to the point - wings were not as crispy as when I bake them in the over, and my house was still filled with smoke when we went to bed last night. I had stepped outside for 12 minutes since the timer was set for 20 minutes. I couldn't believe the smoke when I came back in!! Ran over and unplugged the unit immediately. Chicken was not at a safe temp when I used my digital thermometer. Bake pan is totally permanently encrusted, crisper basket is sticky with burned residue, and the inside of the unit looks like it's been used for 35 years without ever being cleaned. I'm taking it back today, without scrubbing the inside. I should have check these reviews before falling for the Christmas (Black Friday) promo.
Hi James, Sadly, I own a Power XL and I wanted to return it because it won't toast, but it costs more to ship it than it costs to buy it. I agree with you, it is a DUD and the company is even worse!!!
I have this air fryer grill and it’s taken some adjustments. I agree about the smokiness this thing causes which is ridiculous. But since I have mine in the counter next to the stove, I just turned in the overhead vent and that took care of that annoyance. I’m still trying to find that groove to get crispy air fried chicken and I’m almost there. I did wings (seasoned, no dredge or breading of any kind) and I cooked them at 350 for about 30 minutes. My NuWave Brio air fryer produced super crispy, crunchy and golden fried chicken in 20 minutes on 360. I use there time and temps for the PowerXL. So far it’s been fine. I’ve made ground turkey air fried meatloaf, fried chicken, grilled steak and sausage and I baked pillsbury slice and bake cookies in this and they’ve come out great. Each time I tweak the settings just a little and I get better results.
I think most airfryers have the basket with the air c9ming fr9m the top. So perhaps having the crisper tray above the baking pan is ok. Almost the same effect. A little bit of water probably worked for those who us3d it. The same as you putting water in the bottom of the Speedi. Or at the bottom of the PowerXL Smokeless Grill. So will my unit last or will the PoweXL Airfryergrill last when I get it back.
It needs the pan under the basket so the drippings do not go on the heating element. Most of these types of air fryers that I have been seeing need the pan under the wire basket. I think that is one of the downfalls with the oven design. I keep contemplating whether to get a oven but I think I may pass on the ovens all together unless that shipping cost from AZ to NY isn't bad lol
I'm pissed I bought it without reading Amazon reviews. It's horrible. It filled my whole house with smoke and is so hot on the outside. I bought it at Home Buys for $80 and can't find the receipt to return it. It did make delicious crunchy chicken wings but took an hour to cook.
I do wonder if your thermometer got the temp of the rack. However there was smoke with avocado oil for up to 450°. 11/2 inch steak with bacon soft like I like it. Eggs and sausage fine. Eggs done faster than expected.
You did a video July 2020 where you are grilling a steak. In that video, you had no problem with the Air Fryer. Do you have any idea why it would grill a steak with no problems, but seems to have problems when cooking the chicken? I had considered getting one of these, but now I'm not so sure of it's a good idea or not.
@@CookinWithJames The grill feature is what first attracted my attention, but if that's the only thing it does well, then the price may not be worth the purchase. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for this transparent review - I was thinking of buying this machine. Fortunately my daughter shared this video with me, now that I am better informed I will not be purchasing this particular small appliance.
This is not completely accurate. There is a heating element at the bottom what did anyone think was going to happen when grease drips on it? It’s red hot so yea makes sense it going to get smoky with greases chicken. Just my two cents.
I have used mine all the time and it fills my house up with smoke also. And when I take my food out it makes flames on the bottom burner or whatever it is. I hate mine
I just finished watching both of your videos and you're absolutely right!! The smoke is ridiculous!!I'll try the baking tray underneath the basket next time
James, according to instructions in the booklet - When using the Crispier Tray or Pizza Rack to cook food with higher moisture content, use the Baking Pan below the tray or Rack to catch any dripping juices.
Veteran USMC no problem brother! I literally just did some wings on my ninja foodi smart xl grill. The best air fryer ever! I did a video on it. Will be out next weekend! I did some other cooks on it as well. Check those out! You would like it!
I did discover that after fixing frozen fish in the manual. I guess the drop tray is really a crumb tray. The airfryer crisper is made so the drips should not fall on heading element but fan may have blow it on anyway.
@@CookinWithJames Why don't you just say that millions have experienced the smoke? You have no evidence other than a WHOPPING 881 comments on your video. I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but where are you getting your data from?
I bought this yesterday and used it and hated it. I then searched if others had problems too and found your video. It’s going back to the store today! My whole house was Smokey and all I made was burgers and buns!!!
I had so much smoke when following directions precisely from manufacturers. I contacted them and the seller and returned for safety issues as it really scared my mom and I. Cheers. Pete and DOMENICA in North Palm Beach
I have this same unit and it worked great. I've cooked cookies, cornbread, biscuits, and brownies. I get it when you mentioned the temperature and I did have to adjust the temp at first. After that, it worked great.
Does the oven get really hot on the outside when it's on? Just curious if it's going to heat my house. Perhaps with this unit you can't cook things with high greaae content.
Renee, he is air-frying on the wrong tray. To air-fry chicken you suppose to use the pan, not the basket. Basket is to be used for meats, wings, chicken, turkey you get the idea. The iron tray is for steak, pizza and so on.

Reheated pasta. Bake mode At 5 350°. Heard popping during preheat. Could not find cause. Unit real hot. Countertop real hot. After taking pasta out and cooling for 5 min foil was cold. It was fresh foil. In for 20 min. Pasta was hot. Bolts making noise due to expansion?
Strangely the plc juicer at 27000 rpm foes not make as much juice as a 40 rpm expelled pressed juicer. The plc 500 ml of pale juice. The rest foam. The expelled 800 no rich color juice. Rest foam. Question. Is there a hand off on nutrients in foam vs juice. Or does a high throttle sell more units. I ordered before I saw the review.
I used the Power XL and have no problem with it,no smoke to speak of.I was wondering why you used the fry basket which you would use for French fries and not a big hunk of chicken. You should use the gill pan and perhaps use the baking pan under to catch any extra driping from something like big hunks of chicken that has moisture and fat.
Hey, James. I was flipping channels last saturday and saw this informercial on for this Power XL . Wow.. As with any product that sells thru an informercial they always shows it at its best. My Hubby was all excited -- wants to get one --- keeps mentioning it everytime I cook now since last week. He likes the smallness vs cranking up my big oven. lol. I always check reviews before I buy anything. I'm looking for the bad reviews first, why? Obviously, for the things that can, could or do go wrong with the product. Then, depending the ratio of the bad vs good: - I'll buy it--- or pass. Yours is the very first review ( you tube) I've looked at as I type this. Dispite all the negative comments and the positive ones as well on your review. I think your oven is defective. If your thermostat tester is accurate and I'm sure it must be.. why wouldnt it be? If I had that oven and used it according to the directions .(.. no matter what you did in error or not.) ( The Oven is too hot and not matching the dial you put it on) even for me, my food would not come out like the Mfg claims it should. I'm still researching... I may get one or I may not. But I think your video is a good one and I think you did a good job. Sure, there might be things you did or even didnt do in error... that's besides the point > ... the oven thermostat is not regulated correctly, so no matter whether you cooked it exactly, precisely, expertly right on point or not... if the temp. is wrong .. its wrong. Heck, my old viking oven ( that came with my house )-- even it-- was baking too hot when I started using it and I had to call a viking mfg repairman to regulate the temp. correctly. So, not all appliances are perfect -- and not all problems with defective appliances are user error.
Thnx for the awesome comment. The further u search u will find out. If your looking for a good one that can grill also check ninja foodi smart xl grill. Much better. I have vids on that as well
My husband got me the model from Walmart. Yes it does smoke a lot. We use the grill more than anything else. The basket is great for cooking vegetables. I just turn on my exhaust fan.
I have this unit. I cook chicken in this twice a week and I’ve never had this happen! Same with the temp probe. I think you may have a faulty unit. I love mine and use it almost daily! One thing I do is use foil and the drip tray to keep the chicken grease from hitting the heating element.
@@CookinWithJames funny.... as soon as I commented this my unit began to malfunction lol. Smoke pouring out and just shutting off in the middle of cooking. Womp womp
@@CookinWithJames I'm so sorry u hate it so much. I actually have the updated version of it the Emeril Lagasse Power air fryer oven 360. I luv mine so far.
Yes 👍 that's 👏 what I wrote to James about have something to catch the drip from the chicken or foods that are oily. Like by using an Aluminum foil or in the case with you the drip pan. I also told him he had the heat way to Hi also.😉
Of course you do keep something under what you are cooking plus I have it over 3 weeks now and it Great!! I 👍 its all about keeping your eyes on the temperature gage and keep close to you Machine so it won't as james had happened to him and smoke the house down.
I have this use it all the time!! Ihave baked rotisserie all functions.. who in there right mind puts chicken that you know will drip grease in basket.. i do chicken in baking pan. I have not turned my oven since i got this!! Frozen chicken is great in basket but not raw. You got to use common since.
@@CookinWithJames I had the same issues that you did with it smoking when it wasn’t suppose to smoking using the directions from the manufacture. So I can vouch for you that your not trying to find something wrong it and give the Power XL Team a bad name. Keep up the good work on your channel.
What do you use it for? I tried chicken tenders and it was absolutely worthless. The chicken was soo dry until I brushed with olive oil. The whole point is to not add oil.
You have to make sure you CLEAN the inside after EVERY use. This makes sure there is no OLD grease in it to heat up and smoke. As far as chicken tenders I do NOT put olive oil on the chicken, I use an olive oil spray VERY LIGHTLY. It works great.
I just received mine a couple of days ago. I will try putting the drip tray under the chicken. Grease hitting the heating element in any appliance, including a regular oven, would cause smoke and possibly a fire.
I bought one and a week after delivery I tried to air fry some frozen shrimp 400 @ 15 mins I placed the shrimp on grease paper before i placed it on the rack and also included the drip tray I went downstairs to do laundry and my house was filled with smoke just like yours here I was thinking I did something wrong. If I hadn’t thrown the box out I would have definitely returned it. I wish I had seen this review before I purchased mine
Thank you James saw it this morning on GMA Steals and Deals 12/3/2020 I said check reviews and came across yours , great wallet rescue ! Happy Holidays thanks again
I think you're trying to sabotage this unit. Everyone smart enough knows that you didn't use the dripping pan. so you did it on purpose I have one my self, and don't make that kind of a mess. NICE TRYING.
Hahaha😝. I own 2 other products by this company which I did reviews on and loved them. This for me is not a good cooker for what I want it for. Happy new year!
PowerXL Adventure. Something I noticed while baking To Monterrey Beef and Bean burritos while froze. Dropped temp from 375 to 350 per convection oven instructions. Cooke after preheating for 23 mins as instructed onpkg. Noticed when the temp tracker clicks below or above the set temp the airfryer fan speeds up or slows down. Did over and over. So the vents do lose the heat fast.
I just finished grilling salmon on this unit which was EXCELLENT along with all the other meals that I have made and have never had a problem with smoking etc, One of the first things you should have done according to the instructions is PRE - Heat for 5 - 10 min. which you failed to do. Also according to most recipes you should have grilled the chicken or baked the chicken and would have not had problems, I have the cookbook for this unit, and a recipe for fried chicken is clearly step by step in the book provided. To get crispy fried chicken you are to soak the chicken in buttermilk overnight then dredge in flour mixture. Spray lightly with olive oil spray then place on crisper tray temp 350 for 35 min. Perfect fried chicken!!! I LOVE my air fryer especially the grill plate which is suggested for most meats. Be fair and do it right to have success. PS It has heating elements on top and bottom a fantastic grill plate with deep grill markings
Mine works fine... preheat is both fundamental and essential for air fryers .. if you haven't used air fryers you are probably going to have problems if you don't do it correctly
I have two Philips air fryers they are all smoky. As as air fryer, they all create smoke bc the fat in the food burns in high temperature. That’s why I place my air fryer next to the cook top so I can easily move it under the hood whenever I use it cook something with a lot of fat content. Smoky air fryer really just means you have a powerful air fryer. Dial down the temp setting you will be fine.
Well during the apartment renovation they took my good micro and replaced with a bad micro. New ones ordered but not in. So I have been using my defective PowerXL AFG. Mostly for frozen items. Takes 50-60 minutes to heat a frozen Sausage egg and cheese. Etc.
just bought mine, and it works awesome... the grill is amazing.. air fried fries were crispy. .. the only thing is that it gets hot temp very high , might have to turn the temp down a liltte. .. overall .. AWESOME..
Pxlafg adventure. Cooked 1 inch thick rib eye .85 lb. Airfry grill mode. Preheated to 300° for 11 mins. 4.5 min each side. The handle on the door helped keep me from taking grill out too much. Digital therm measured 155°. Measure 150 at the plate and 130 7 mins later. Medium well. Shrunk to 3/4 inch. Cooked evenly. Not tough but chalky. Juicy. Can't get away from the well done zone. Had steak out forc30 min out of pkg before cooking. Seasoned just before putting in with salt and pepper.
I have this. I love it. Cant stop using it. There is a drip pan that is to be used each time. I tried following the guide once, their times in the book aren’t accurate. If you can cook you can use this with common sense. The grill is the best part I think. Try it for yourself. Maybe not for beginner cooks but if you know your way around a kitchen and can cook on the fly try it. Never had a smoky experience. I love it. You can bake air fry grill toast bake. All kinds of stuff with super easy clean up. Just my experience.
I have the non grill one, I like the black color though. I have had mine for over a year and it still works well but I have moved on to using my Ninja foodi grill far more. I have felt the temp seemed off at times but never used a thermometer to check it.
Thank you for your reviews! One reason Costco is a good place to purchase items like this -- FREE Returns for 90 days (or maybe longer) I work for a service center and yes, they stick you with the cost of return shipping -- every single time -- to discourage you from returning.
The Emeril Legosse 360 has heating elements at top and bottom plus the airfryer fan. No smoke from a wing it cook for fish and rib eye at 400°. 1500 watt oven.
Well I finally air fried a big russet potato for approx 1 HR. Turning over after 30 min. This time I used avocado oil with advertised 450° on the due to being refined after expelled pressed. The creamers potato I have ever had. Probably just as food as the powerxl vortex that Doug did for an HR. Tenements at the bottom were not red hot most of the time. Now I know I can have a great baked potato with the thick rib eye I got at Wal-Mart. Real hot oven though. I am willing to bet I can air fry wings in the powerxl airfryergrill. Still gave 50 days or so to decide to exchange for the powerxl combo. Best of all no smoke. Not even a red light on my smoke detector.
Mine doesn’t smoke like that even when new. BUT it just took me 40 mins to “Air Fry” 2 links of precooked boudin. This thing is a dud. Don’t waste your money. Love the review. Perfectly honest review. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for saving me grief! I was going to purchase one but no way can I stand a smoked up house! I would not pay shipping for this terrible machine.
I have read somewhere to preheat for such and such as one of the heating elements is working during preheat and food will be unevenly cooked. Maybe turning off resort this. However one instruction on internet says to reheat pizza in oven cold starting at 275°. Pizza in low baking sheet. Covered in foil. Reheat mode. Reheated fine.
the owner manual in the fry chicken section, tells you to put the baking pan under the chicken to prevent smoking. just cook two racks of chicken no problem with smoke when done right
Do you mean right under the chicken or in the slot like he had it? I thought about just putting the fry rack on the drip tray so the grease dripping will help cook the chicken a lil better. I think the slot where the tray is in the video is for storage and not frying.

I did in my other review. It’s just not for me. Happy holidays!
I have been wanting to buy the PowerXL Air Fryer/microwave family size unit, but now after watching no less then 10 videos and am not convinced that I want one any longer.
It sucks. Check out the other cookers on my channel
@@CookinWithJames Thanks, will do just that.
when grease drips onto a heat element it will create smoke..try a drip pan under the basket
I did. Check my other review on this cooker! Happy holidays!
Thanks for your review!
@@frogmanvc no you cannot read she said grill there is not drip pan under grill. Only air fryer basket has drip pan
Thanks so much for watching. Trust me. This thing is a piece of junk. Happy holidays
I knew it was going to smoke b4 you even started.... A little common sence could have ended you with some great chicken. I'll be making a video soon to show why I LOVE this. I made pork chops and curly fries. It was amazing.
Sure. Can’t wait!
I looked at your channel because I wanted to see your video. I'm needing to know how to cook meat and veggies at the same time. Or like burgers and fries simultaneously. Which settings are used to cook more than two things etc...
Hayley, please post your review... we'd like to see it seeing as you know more than the instructions!
Wheres this correct video. Its been a month. Getter done
I love when people try and insult but can't even spell "common sense" correctly🤦♂️🤣🤣
I think they teach that one in preschool, or maybe even kindergarten, can't quite remember.
Lol. Thats what i try to do. Got a new review in the next week! Thnx. Happy new year!
The baking pan on either the rack or in the crisper tray. What would you put on a rack to airfry vs the crisper?
Set on bake temp at 400° cooking temperature was 525 they gave me a full refund after returning it
Same thing happened to me! One time is all I needed to know I didn’t like it.
Hi James, Sadly, I own a Power XL and I wanted to return it because it won't toast, but it costs more to ship it than it costs to buy it. I agree with you, it is a DUD and the company is even worse!!!
I know. It really sucks. Sorry you have to go through that.
I found taking the food tray out then removing and cleaning the drip pan every 5 minutes helped with the smoke. Good luck with crispy chicken.
Drip tray goes over the bars not under
@@sharontavance4325 No
@@sharontavance4325 you're wrong
@@stephenwilliams8875 I never had a problem with it using it that way
I think most airfryers have the basket with the air c9ming fr9m the top.
Not the same those elements will get hot and boil the water.
Hahaha😝. Ya I tried the pan underneath in my other review. The pan got hot and smoked. I got rid of it. Much appreciated!

Thank you! I was considering buying this lol!!
I DONT LIKE MINE GETS TO HOT
AND I HAD SERIOUS BURNS ON MY HANDS
YES IT DOES NOT BAKE RIGHT
Ya. Not good product
No. It can grill. Thats it. It sucks at air frying and everything else
You’re welcome
This is not completely accurate. There is a heating element at the bottom what did anyone think was going to happen when grease drips on it? It’s red hot so yea makes sense it going to get smoky with greases chicken. Just my two cents.
I have used mine all the time and it fills my house up with smoke also. And when I take my food out it makes flames on the bottom burner or whatever it is. I hate mine
I just finished watching both of your videos and you're absolutely right!! The smoke is ridiculous!!I'll try the baking tray underneath the basket next time
Ya man…just a piece of junk to me
And it shrunk to a 1/3rd to 1/4 inch. I was sure it was going to be tougher than ideal. It was much thinner at the first flip. Airfrygrill mode?
James, according to instructions in the booklet - When using the Crispier Tray or Pizza Rack to cook food with higher moisture content, use the Baking Pan below the tray or Rack to catch any dripping juices.
Ya I tried that but the drip trey got so hot it still smoked!

He is accurate.. I just used one was the worst thing trying to send mine back now ! Thx for your honesty
The instructions also say ,if you are cooking something that has a high fluid content, use the baking pan as a drip pan bro.
Right cause I was confused as to why someone would put a drip tray BELOW the heating element which is probably what was smoking so much.
I did discover that after fixing frozen fish in the manual. I guess the drop tray is really a crumb tray. The airfryer crisper is made so the drips should not fall on heading element but fan may have blow it on anyway.
Would it help/or permissible to put a little water in the pan???
I use the grill plate on mine for chicken thighs in my small apartment and I've never seen smoke like that come out of mine.

James I have the oven that does everything. I had it less than two years but it won’t heat up. What to do?
I used the Power XL and have no problem with it,no smoke to speak of.I was wondering why you used the fry basket which you would use for French fries and not a big hunk of chicken. You should use the gill pan and perhaps use the baking pan under to catch any extra driping from something like big hunks of chicken that has moisture and fat.
Tried that . Pan got hot, smoked. Try ninja foodi xl
Time will tell whether I should send it back for a replacement. Really light without accessories.
I tell you it’s not for me ….for sure
I have vids on that as well
If it's running hot, DONT COOK FROZEN FOOD! THE OUTSIDE WILL BURN BY THE TIME THE CENTER IS THAWED AND COOKED HOT ALL THE WAY THROUGH
My husband got me the model from Walmart.

What do you use it for? I tried chicken tenders and it was absolutely worthless. The chicken was soo dry until I brushed with olive oil. The whole point is to not add oil.
Any suggestions for chicken thighs. I had smoke every where after 15 mins. Used a tray under to catch the oil too.

He used the drip pan
Glad you like yours. It’s not for me. Happy Easter
I tried that. Dont work on this one. Happy holidays!

My eyes caught on fire 🔥 when grease hit the eye .... very scary had to throw flour on top and then of course it ruined my dinner

Thanks for the levity. Somebody below didn't get it.
Thanks for the review....I was going to buy this but think I will keep looking for something.
You’re welcome. It sucks
This is exactly why I come to youtube for real reviews! Thanks for the heads up!!
Glad to help! You got it brother!! Happy New year!
Thank you I was going to buy it to no way I'm glad I watched your video!
Your welcome!
the owner manual in the fry chicken section, tells you to put the baking pan under the chicken to prevent smoking. just cook two racks of chicken no problem with smoke when done right
Do you mean right under the chicken or in the slot like he had it?
I thought about just putting the fry rack on the drip tray so the grease dripping will help cook the chicken a lil better. I think the slot where the tray is in the video is for storage and not frying.
Follow directions! Your the guy that puts your kids swing set together without reading the manual and have a bunch of leftover parts. Lol
I’m just a man. Hahaha😝. Happy new year!
