Finally, first video I found where someone added forward controls to their 2020 low rider s. They look really good. Im 6'3 and Im just not sure how I feel about mid controls. I get my bike delivered next week. Might be changing them out to forward controls.
At 6 foot three, you are going to hate the mid controls. Your knees will be at mid tank level. I’m only 510 and they were too tight for me.Definitely adds a lot more relaxing posture to the ride, I’m not sure how it would work with the stock height bars. I just put the Kuryakyn riot X mini floorboards on yesterday. I’m fine tuning my riding position now, the damn mini floorboards give me way too many options for adjustments ha ha Ha. Swapping the controls should take about an hour or so with handtools. The hardest part was pulling the shifter mechanism apart and that only took a few minutes. Also if you do swap them raise the shift lever, your foot position changes and the shifter sits too low if it stays in the same spot as it was
Thinking about forward controls on my 22 ST, based on everything I’ve seen the black forward control kit from Harley has a wonky brake position which you kind of talked about. I’ve seen others get the chrome (for some reason they are different) and then have them painted black and then installed.
The brake pedal position is easily adjusted to bring it toward you more so it’s not awkward, it’s pretty self evident and if not just look in the video and I point to what has to be adjusted. Should take no longer than 10 minutes. Good luck and thanks for watching
Hi. I just bought a 2022 low rider s. I am putting the forward controls on. I wanted to put the bung king crash bar but not sure if it will interfere with the bolts holding the forwards. Also could you tell me what crash bar you put on. Thanks.
The crash bar came from Amazon, I don’t remember the seller, but it was basically a knock off. It did work fine with the forward controls. Thanks for watching!
I like it - looks great. i just got the el diablo (basically the ST) and i feel the same way. i felt very uncomfortable with the mid controls and i forgot how much i dislike pegs. so i'm going with Thrashin Supply mini-floorboards and the HD forward control kit. Having said that, I have to find a better foot brake. I don't need one as large as my Ultra but i want the positioning of the rear brake petal the same.
Love the setup you have! I just purchased a 2020 left over. I’m 5’11 and found my leg cramping yesterday so I’m definitely going with forward controls as well. Quick question about your fairing, how much more does that help with the wind deflection? The one that comes on the bike does nothing for me to get out of the wind and at highway speeds it gets annoying after a bit. It’s been 18 years since I’ve had a bike so maybe I’m just not used to it or don’t remember it being like this lol! Awesome setup you have done!!!
The little bikini fairing is useless, it’s for aesthetics. The RWD TXR fairing Completely changed the bike. I would say it gives you about 75 to 80% of the wind coverage you get from a touring bike. It’s a bit of a pain in the ass to install but well worth it. Putting in the forward controls, the saddlemen step up seat and the 6 1/2 inch risers made it really nice. Still sucks for a passenger, but totally transformed the bike
I don’t know for sure, but with the mini floorboards you can pull the floorboards back a couple of inches and that would probably work. Try sitting on a fat Bob and see if it fits, I believe it’s the same exact set up

You can adjust the front brake to work better

Hi. I’m getting my Low Rider in two weeks, similar set up as you. May I ask how tall you are. I’m 6’3” bit worried about ride comfort.
5’10”
What did you do with the spline coming out of the housing on the left side of the bike?
I’m not sure what you are referring to, sorry. I just used the factory kit and everything went together pretty easily
How tall are you? I want this bike but I'm 6"2' and was hoping the forward controls would work for me
I’m 510. I think at 6’2” tall you would still be OK, but obviously more compressed than my short legs. I have a 32 inch inseam if that helps
Have you thought of mini floorboards
I did! Kuryakyn Riot mini floorboards On my 2020 Lowrider S with forward controls

How tall are you? I'm 6'1" and hated the lowrider s mid controls. In fact I could hardly get past how uncomfortable they were.

Where did u get that crash bar been looking for it to fit my forward control? Can you provide link at eBay .thansk
They are no longer selling it on eBay, sorry. There are tons of them out there for around $150
For the 6.5 inch risers did you need to get new cables or do you have enough length with the stock ones?
I was hoping he was gonna answer this, because I was wondering too. Guess not.
Had no need for the stock cables, in the video I explain how to do it
Hey Rosy what is that fairing you have on your low rider S
It’s from Russ weird mint Designs. 2020 Low Rider S sport touring on a budget RWD TXR Fairing Install
You don't still have your mid controls do you?
No, I sold them right after I put the forward controls on sorry
Do you have the link where you got your forward controls?
I purchased them from Shoputahharley.com.
They are OEM
will forwards be suitable for 5 feet and 5 inches tall?
I don’t know for sure, but with the mini floorboards you can pull the floorboards back a couple of inches and that would probably work. Try sitting on a fat Bob and see if it fits, I believe it’s the same exact set up
