I worked out a deal with the dealership to install the forward controls ahead of time. They installed them that day before I left with the bike. every test ride with mid controls I hated them. Felt like I was being cramped way too much and could not get my feet on the ground quick enough at stop lights. Knew I'd never be happy with them so I worked it out ahead of time. Glad you like them.

New to me. Coming off of a Suzuki Hayabusa, this is my first non-sports bike. Want to stretch out a little. I'm 6'4" tall with 34-inch inseam, so legs are flexed quite a bit. I really like your style of presenting information. You don't blah blah endlessly and you get things done. I appreciate that. Subscribing. Looking forward to seeing what other videos you've done that cover this HD. Very cool, thank you.

I bought the Ford control kit black and based on your advice, I found the chrome one by part number on eBay for $60. I plan to make it black at some point right now I’m riding my bike with a brake I can reach. as soon as I got on the forward controls, even before the better brake pedal, I remove the heavy breather and replaced it with the ventilator, which is flat and keeps the bike narrow without banging my knee. I’ve rolled the handlebars back and I’m shopping for a horn the stock one is not good.

Sio no te importa te voy a preguntar unas dudas aque tengo.
Hello, I have also owned a Low rider ST for three months and every time I go out I have a terrible time. I have unbearable pain in my right leg from the sidewalk to my thigh. I have to stretch my legs to make the pain go away a little. Before this bike I had a 2022 Street Bob and both with the original controls and when I put the advanced ones on it I never had these pains. If you don't mind, I'm going to ask you some questions I have. The first thing when putting the chrome forward controls, how do you say, does driving improve? Isn't positional forced on us so much? In good words, will the pain go away? and my second or third question is. When you put the advanced controls, having the standard filter, doesn't it bother you? Because right now I'm taking my knee with the filter. Sorry for the inconvenience. Greetings from Spain

Great info regarding the 2 fwd. control kits that HD offers. Two different kits but each only available one way (chrome or black)...odd indeed. Procrasting at this time about doing same mod to my Low Rider S. Thanks for making and posting this video.
My primary Harley is a '21RGS, and my secondary Harley is a '22FXLRS. I've been thinking about eliminating the mid-controls on the Low Rider S, and replacing with forward controls, purely for increased comfort (I'm 5'10", 170Lbs. and 32" inseam). I do admit to be completely spoiled by the Touring Chassis, specially with upgraded aftermarket suspension. As such, I ride the Road Glide about 75+% of the time as opposed to the softail; specially highway interstate/freeway rides.
My previous softail (actually a Dyna) was a 2016 Low Rider, Black, 103 Twin Cam, and was factory forward controls; was actually very comfortable. Stay safe brother (both low level flight on the Harleys, and soaring up in the clouds when piloting the big Jets)!

I had an idea for you. Since you have a good relationship with ADVANBLACK, perhaps they could come up with an idea to solve the Low Rider ST headlight ring from coming off? Maybe if they made a ring with a magnetic backing or Velcro backing, perhaps fabricate a new ring with better snap in prongs so they will not pop off so easily. They may not know of the problem that this bike has.

Will the forward controls work with the Mustache bar? That's the only thing holding me back from doing this mod to my 22 LRST

After being on the touring frame, how is the ST in comparison for highway stability, wind deflection, etc. ?

How did you stop the oil from coming out of the inside primary?

Just a thought....could you get the blacked out version, buy the chrome brake lever, have only it powder coated and then apply as needed?

    • @HOLYSHIFT
      @HOLYSHIFT  2 года назад +1

Easier option - buy blacked out version and buy a black brake pedal from Harley. There are a few models / designs

Hahaha!! I, too, don't need a torque wrench!!! It's just two clicks of the elbow and it's good!!! 😉😆

Thank you for this video! I would be interested in the view from the other side. How these new forward controls match with the Heavy breather. I suppose I‘m a little bit taller that you (I’m 6ft 2) and I‘m afraid, that my right shin would permanently touch the Heavy Breather.

Your shin will touch ! It touches my shin- even with the mid controls. I swapped my breather yesterday- stay tuned

Nice mod Sandy. The ST is a great looking bike. How tall are you? My son has been riding a Road King for a few years. Took an ST for a demo ride at Laconia and he loved the bike but he’s all of 6 ft 4 and needs max leg stretch.

@@HOLYSHIFT Thanks! I think it’s a necessary mod if he gets an ST but I think he may be a little long for the bike.
