That came out great! I cant believe all the detail in that kit. Im not really a Charger fan but you still cant resist a great model. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Alan, I’m a die hard Mopar fan so I had to build this one. It went together without a hitch and has positive mounting points for every part. You’ll love it! Thanks for watching👍
I love the separate door panels and even separate heat shields under the exhaust? No taping or any kind of masking? I like how they had a bunch of separate parts so you could paint them easier then the usual masking. It does look like a great kit, I'm getting one or some lol.
WOW!!!!! What an amazing build. That is a very well engineered kit. Definitely something that is not normal for AMT. Your work on this build is absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed looked like the kit fit together vary well nice and tight, thinking this well be a nice kit to get when there out .As always you did a top on the line job with the build your work is at another level Love the color choice too.
So true Deen, everything had a positive mounting place and fit was tight. I had to open a few holes up a little bit… thank you for your kind words and I appreciate your support👍
Great build James! I like the design of that kit, it's neat how the parts breakdown matches the painting. A lot less masking that way. Very thoughtful engineering.
@@ScaleModelExperiment The complaints I hear about AMT remind me of the situation Airfix was in 10 years ago. They had some very old tooling in their range but the packaging was the same as their new stuff, a lot of people felt cheated. They started a "Vintage Classics" range with retro packaging so that you know what you're getting before you buy.
I agree! With RUclips now, you can always look up an open box review before buying a kit. There’s no excuse to bash. There are a lot of curbside kits coming soon from AMT that haven’t been out since the 60’s. Small updates were made to the tooling to clean them up but you can’t expect 25 all new tooled releases a year from any company. Rant over! Take care my friend👍
Man, that is sweeeet! I guess I'm going to have to break down and pick one up. I finally ordered a Tamiya 2023 Z kit and I got my payment request for the Aoshima snap kit. I can't wait to get my hands on them!
This kit has some neat features like the heat shields and exhaust pipes to mufflers connection. Now if they would put out a 2014 style Charger and drag race options.
I totally agree Paintnamer, there is a positive fit location for every part of this kit. You’ll love it! People drag race these ? 😜. Take care and thanks for watching 👍
What did you learn from the kit? What would you have done differently, building it a second time? The suspension look like it went together easy. That is RARE for AMT with their front ends falling into place.
Hi Clint, take your time with the front suspension and study the directions twice is what I suggest. It does fit together well IF you do it right. I test fit the whole kit in white glue before painting it and it gave me fits the first time. I think if I were to build another I would do a bright color instead. Thanks for watching 👍
Beautiful. Just love the results. Seems you are on the leading edge of building all the newest kits. This is a good kit for sure but your touches make it a masterpiece. How to top this one I wonder.
Hi Curtis, Google a stock R/T Charger. This isn’t a scat or hellcat so it has the stock 20” skinnies on it. It looks stock when built. You can always swap some new bigger lower profile tires onto it and make it your own taste.
Thank you Manny! I appreciate any feedback you have for me. I try a lot of different styles and changes from video to video. Let me know what you like and don’t.
Hi Justin, the kit is really nice. You’ll love it. The window glue is cemedine from Japan. The nearest US equivalent is rhinestone adhesive. It’s a water based acrylic. It holds well and wipes right off windows. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate your support 👍
James! You struck it out of the ballpark with this one! Both the model and your excellent videography ! You created another precision build on an AMT kit this time. They produced this model very well. I like the color combo reminds me of the modern Shelby Mustangs. Is this a factory color or your own? Somebody finally stepped up to the plate to produce a modern Charger with the vintage concave panel in the doors👍🏁 Beautiful build!!!
Thanks so much Ray! The color I painted mine is called Frostbite blue. I got the color from Model Car World. This is a well designed easy kit to build out of the box and would be easy to customize with some rims/tires/spoilers/wide body flares. Thanks for all of your support bud 👍
Thank you for watching 👍 I used Model Car World Frostbite Metallic for the body with 2 coats of Splash Paints 2k clear. The interior is just different shades of black.
That is such and awesome build up vid! I have a question, it appears you used Tamiya cement for the build and on some areas where paint was already applied, is it safe to say you used Tamiya paints on the build?
Hi Glenn, yes I used Tamiya extra thin cement on the build. I use Tamiya Acrylics and lacquers thinned with Mr Color Leveling lacquer thinner for everything. Everything is airbrushed. Thanks for watching👍
Hi Robert, the window glue is called Cemedine and it is from Japan. I bought it when I visited Tokyo last year. I googled it and found a US alternative is rhinestone adhesive. It’s a clear water based adhesive. Thanks for watching!👍
Hello Dario, there is no tint on the windows. They came out of the box that way. I did add a strip of flat black film across the top of the windshield to hide a paint mistake in the trim masking. 🤪
Duuuuude….right on! Love how the parts are completely modern especially the engine ,ive been building classic muscle engines so this kit(until they have a 2020 Vette) would be a cool build….Serious question, what brand and where did you find that”pin point” super glue applicator? Thanks bro!
Thanks for watching Tracy👍 the glue that I used for the windows is called Cemedine and I bought it in Japan. From what I can tell it is a rhinestone adhesive. It is water based and holds well and It dries clear. Thanks again for watching 👍
Hi HandsOver, the glue is called Cemedine. I bought it in Japan. It is actually a water based rhinestone adhesive. It works well and holds strong. I think that you can find something similar on Amazon.
Your question is kind of vague, but for the most part as long as you didn’t break the model anything can be fixed. The paint can be stripped and you can start over if you have any other questions. Let me know.
Hi JP, yes it is in their enamel line. But, he calls it an enamel but it really is a 2 part base coat paint that uses a hardener. It works well, check Matthews channel Model Car Videos, he uses it.
@@ScaleModelExperiment You say its enamel paint? I don't know if its a good idea to use enamel in an airbrush.. When you say its a 2 part base coat, can a reducer be used to thin it out for airbrushing? Thx.
Here is how I mixed it: 2.5ml paint, 2,5 ml Mr Hobby Leveling thinner and 1 ml of their hardener. It came out really glossy but then shrank down so I wet sanded it and then shot 2K over it. But for most people the enamel shine is satisfactory.
Absolutely beautiful! No doubt now that this kit will be a home run for AMT.
Thank you Antithesis! I totally agree, it’s a wonderful kit with lots of detail. I look forward to seeing everyone else’s builds. Thanks for watching👍
Your paint prep on those parts is exceptional. You’re a master. Great job!!!

Thanks Tom, it really is a nice kit! I think they hit the stores this weekend. Take care and thanks again!
Very nice. Great video showing the detail and fit. Looks like AMT is stepping up their game.
