Thanks for watching. I know there's enough room in those big headlights, I just have to figure out how to hide the battery pack. The cool thing is the trunk lid is a seperate part. You just need to hack out the opening on the body.
Wow! That's one of the best model car videos I've seem. It's so clear and easy to follow and finishes with two stunning vehicles. I love the still photos at the end - really sharp and kind of humorous too. You put a fantastic amount of work into the builds, the video and photos. Thanks so much for sharing all this and your enjoyment too!
That 29 came out awesome! Your magnet tip is one that I'm sure lots of people will use, I've seen others use similar techniques on other model builds. Great video, thanks for sharing.
You have to be the model legend, you do the best detail i've seen here on you tube, and the lights, Dude you are the master of hiding things that you don't want seen I love your kits, all of mine are second hand and i have to take them apart and try to do them better than what they are, and sand them down the best i can but that old glue is hard to get off, and a lot of time parts break and that sucks But they are model cars and i get to work on them But you are the best, my 5 models wouldn't compare to any of yours Thank you for being on here, i love watching your videos they are awesome
Wow!!! Thank you very much. I've been doing this since the late 60's and have had my time doing second hand kits. Trust me working on those kits will make you a MUCH BETTER builder than doing them out of the box. It sure makes you think about what comes next, and how to fix what messes up. Keep on doing them like that as long as you can.
Thank you very much. That 32 ford 5 window is a fantastic kit. I'd love to see you give it a try. Other than the bumpers and a little weird stuff with the front suspension it's a straight forward kit. I honestly think it's one of my top 3 kits out there. We have a facebook group that I would love to have you join if you'd like. It's at facebook.com/groups/1303777137055842/
I'd love to build it, but the way i shake, it would be a mess So if you want it its yours Its never been put together , but the person that gave it to me painted the body, and put some of the engine together but didn't paint the engine You're so good with an airbrush that i know it would be a beautiful car when you were done. But its totally up to you, cause i know i'll never build it
I would love to build it. My address is 1535 Rosehedge Dr. Youngstown Ohio. I will be glad to pay shipping, and if you'd want I can send the finished car back. That would be cool too. Thank you so very much. I just told my daughter in law that it is so nice that there are so many good people out there.
I just started this kit and I have to say, I already need another. So many ideas came to me that I'll have to get several kits. It's been a blast so far.
I know what you mean. There's a few different variations of the same thing from Revell too. . . I have 4 different kits that use just about all the same things. Here's a link to one that is like this one but also has the motorcycle fenders for the font and the bobbed fenders for the back. It's a fantastic kit too. www.amazon.com/Revell-85-4524-Ford-Roadster-Model/dp/B0B2WQLLPD/ref=sr_1_1?crid=11RYPOPGV4VLG&keywords=revell+roadster&qid=1694114420&sprefix=revell+roadster%2Caps%2C84&sr=8-1
This build turned out amazing Mark! So many engine details if you put gas in it it might just start right up!😂The lights are such a nice touch! Great and well thought out build all the way through! Slide show was cool too! Look forward to your next one man!
Thank you very much. Funny you mentioned the burger joint. I was just talking about that with the wife when your comment came in. I see it happening. Like a whole winter project.
Mark, The 29 turned out sweet. You said you wanted the 30 coupe. You may want to hunt around for the 32 sedan (Revell) . I believe it was issued back in 2015 or there abouts. It also is a great kit & will fit in nicely with your 29,30, & 32. I have that kit & can send you a pic of the box for reference, if you would like it. Take care, Rick
Thank you. I've been keeping an eye out for the 32 Sedan. It is a very cool ride, and I think I can do some neat stuff with it. I think I'm going to eventually get all of them from this era that I can and make a cool Drive In Theater with them.
Mark, I really dig your ‘ 29 roadster and the ‘32 five window! You build some awesome models. I do have a question for you. It ha nothing to do with the cars however! Where do those cool mechanic figures come from? 14:24
Thank you very much. I get them from Amazon. Look up American Diorama. There is a tone of different figures to pick from. I just wish they had more that were driving the cars.
Awesome Build Pops !!! You did a fantastic job. I'm definitely goin to go back through your videos an find the lighted video or videos you done . Want to try it with the Christine Movie car with the green leds inside an light the headlights an what not . Great build . Can't wait to see what you do with the 30 . I have multiple 32's and the 30's for donor kits for some 32 an 30 resin bodies I got from Drag City so I been looking g around for some ideas to do with the kit bodies and parts I'll have left over
Thank you very much. Christine car would be a blast to do. That's one that you may have to open the trunk so you can hide the battery and switch back there. It's very doable. I want to light the 67 Mustang I'm going to start. Fortunately the trunk lid is a separate part. You can always do a body like the one in the movie Christmas Story where the body was just sitting next to a fence slowly rusting out.
Fantastic result Mark. Just got around to watching the video but it sure turned out nice with the lighting and black and chrome everything. As for exhaust heat staining are you familiar with the Tamiya weathering master line? Well, Set D has burnt red and burnt blue and that remains my most favorite way to replicate heat staining. They’re the perfect colors when used in conjunction. Look forward to your next one!
Thank you very much. I don't have Tamiya's Set D. . . Yet. LOL Thanks for the heads up about it and I'll be looking ASAP for it. I didn't much care for how the clear blue came out, but it is better than nothing. LOL
Thank you very much. I don't know anything about the Piston Power Show. I'm going to look it up. Probably won't show anything, but would love to go to a show. Never been to one before. Thanks for the heads up.
Shoot, I guess I'm going to miss it. If you know of any more model shows in the area I'd love to go to one. I'm in Youngstown and as far as I know there's noting around here.
Mark, I know it's been a long time but hope you still remember, what are you using for a printer? That Hot Rod mag is so dang clear you can read every word on the cover. I anything I print out at 1:24 is so blurry that I can barely make out anything. Tks Denny G, Sandwich, IL Oh by the way LOVED the late night Pizza Pie the crew was sharing. Did I miss the beer cans??? dg
I use a Brother MFCJ1010DW printer. Set it for best quality. I am using Microsoft Publisher to resize and set up the prints. LOL. I am thinking of trying my hand at making a few beer cans sometime down the road.
Wow....this is an old post, wasn't sure you'd even remember doing it. I'm quilt surprised that an inkjet printer is giving you that fine of a resolution. I can read the front page just like it was a full sized magazine. Thanks for coming back about this. Denny G, Sandwich, IL @@grandpamarkshobbies
Sure have, got a kick out of that one. You da one that got me goin' on adding one or two little bits to the story on each of my builds. Thanks@@grandpamarkshobbies
Just bought this kit today. Wanted to paint it like my grandfathers car. What paint brand do you recommend? This will be my first kit attempt. The colors will include red, white, black, silver. Any suggestions for how to add decals?
Anymore I use mostly Tamiya paints. Just make sure you let the body harden for a day or two before you handle it and you will be good. With decals my suggestion is to use hot water to soak them. I soak mine for a 35 count before I pull them out. Then I move them around gently with a toothpick until they are in place. Then I use a Q tip to dab the extra water from them. Lastly I dab them with a paper towel making sure I just go straight in and out and not twist them at all. There is some stuff called Microsol that will help them go over sharp turns and irregular shapes. Also watch a few videos on decals. There's a ton of them out there. Most importantly have fun and TAKE YOUR TIME.
Thank you very much. I honestly wish they had a Love it button. I'd be smashing that on so many peoples videos. One cool thing I can give your comment a heart.
Again a beautiful job. You bring out the essence of these kits Mark. Thanks man...
Thank you very much. I've fallen in love with these cars.
Top notch in every regard
Thank you very much.

I have a 32 sitting on my desk as we speak. It's about number 4 in line to get done, but it's going to be an epic ride.
Mustang with headlights and taillights that would be epic !!!!!

Very nice. Creative implementation of the magnets, that one in the seat back is clever. Thanks for the shout out btw.
Wayne, thank you so much. I had to give you a shout out for the magnet idea. It sure saved my bacon. I'll be using them for sooooo many things.
Thank you Mark for showing us your building techniques. I want to light up some of my builds in the near future.
Thank you very much. The hardest part is hiding the battery.
Great looking build with the headlights shinning. Just a Great looking old school Hot Rod.

I have done the magnet to hold hoods down, I dont like most hinges that come in kits, and dont display with hood raised, so this was a nice fix .
Now that I've messed with them a little bit I keep looking for places to use them.
That turned out really awesome. I might try that H/L idea sometime.
Thank you very much. Give it a try. It's not all that hard. Just have to have a good plan to start.
