Yeah, Falling Bash spam was bad enough but mostly ignorable if you wanted, but I think that Perfect Rush was one of the worst things to happen to Sword and Shield in IB because the loss of damage from not using it would be like if you were a Great Sword not using Charged Slashes. Meta for it went from being a highly versatile weapon that could do a little bit of everything, including using items/traps for easy combos, to "Make sure you perfect rush non-stop as much as possible" which is all you hear now from overly DPS-focused posters. SnS Speedruns are more or less focusing knockdowns/traps and then doing the perfect rush1/2 -> roll -> perfect rush 1-4 over and over. Rise had the "You have one best move to spam as much as possible" problem for all weapons, but that was more a function of wirebug attacks which is the main cool new mechanic they wanted combat to revolve around like the Weapon arts in GU. Not that it made it feel great to do, just that it was more intentional.

Its a bit complex so its fair if you only just now found out about it in a vid. What you need to do is hit the Guard button, then circle, then (relative) back on the stick and if you do the timing right then you get a backhop and can go from there. If you do it wrong because timing is a bit off then you get Guard Slash. You can also do claw uppercuts out of sheathe by hitting Guard just before your roll to "unsheathe" allowing L2 to claw uppercut.
Yes. That exhausted animation is called a clagger. When you clutch on to a monster during that animation it resets the animation and makes the monster stay claggered for longer. It's very standard practice for basically every weapon to do this. Especially in speedrunning.
If you're talking about the beginning after the knockdown, they both did SnS's claw uppercuts which deals half of a tenderize on the part you latch onto so both of them doing that equaled a faster wounding on the head. If you're talking about the clagger, then one of them just needed to latch on because simply latching onto the monster extends the clagger timer to allow the player a guaranteed wounding without getting thrown off, which can get abused by just hopping off and doing a combo instead.
I tried so hard to get the Platinum in MHW , but the sizes of the monsters have been blocking me from getting it , since I have nothing to play I'm going back at it !

No it's not a deco. As the guy above said, it's armor's skill.
It doesn't do anything without an ice weapon/shots, its just built-in armor skills from the Velkana set for Frostcraft.
