Monitoring IS possible on this thing. What you need to do is connect cinch cables to the 2-Track section, routing the sound out and then right back in. So when the button 'to phones/ctr room' is pressed, the Behringer adds the 2-track input to the mix. Et voila, your real-time hardware monitoring! I hope I used the correct terms, I am (still) a beginner and struggled quite a bit to set this mixer up a few years back, but I saw the trick I just mentioned somewhere in a German video. Works perfectly for my need, I just record vocals in a small sound booth. Good luck guys and man, your videos are gold! They are helping me with so many things, much appreciated!
KevinMelim ...I’m glad you made this comment. I just ordered this mixer/interface and I am working on an album now. So I hope it does the trick. I. Using Cubase...which Daw are you using? I got this because I’m doing a lot of acoustic guitar, and my Interface only had two inputs and I was tired of unplugging and plugging for different recording pieces.
I've owned this mixer for about 4 years now. Here are a few words about it: in my case, you'll get about ~60dB of headroom when working with the USB interface. The mixer itself is surprisingly sturdy for the price point and I managed to only blow out the compressor on channel 2 after heavy home studio usage. Pros: - bang for the buck (4 individual strips with compressor and EQ + 4 pairs of stereo inputs sounds very good to me) - nice EQs - knobs aren't wiggly - FX send Cons: - 2 in / 2 out USB audio interface (for this price you can't really complain but I've had lots of issues with it, mostly with the noise I mentioned above, nevertheless it would be great to track at least 4 inputs simultaneously) - pres sound nasty. Really thin and noisy - compressor kinda sounds nice but only if you don't push it too much (imo) With all of this in mind, this unit has been my main mixer and audio interface since I've bought it and I'd say that as long as you don't use the interface, you've got yourself a nice budget mixer that punches above its weight. My tip would be to plug the main out to another interface and use it as a mixer only, you get the bonus of more inputs with all of its features while retaining the nicer features of a better interface (better pres, better convertors)
i wanted to use the cinch inputs and outputs to connect my pc and my stereo to it but it didn't work. I usually have a 1/8inch to 2 cinch (or w/e they are called) cable that goes from the PC to the stereo, but i want to make it go through the mixer first, because i want to be able to add my guitar/bass and vocal mic in the mix as well. Karaoke style or w/e. What do i have to do now? 1/8 stereo split into 2x1/4 monos + 2x1/4 outputs from mixer into 2x inputs cinch in the stereo? Will it work?
@@plamenmilanov3009 I have never used the RCA ins that much but from what I remember they go directly thru the master channel. If you want to record audio via the usb interface you would have to use the other inputs
It''s the same shitty converter chip Behringer uses in their other 16 bit interfaces like the UCA222 and the UM2/UMC22. There's an old driver that was made that works on all those products. I think that why they have compressors on this and not the non-USB version. To get more signal over the high noise floor (like they used to do with tape and early 16 bit). I'm guessing it was less costly than to put in 24-bit converters.
This is about par for most every level behringer products. When I coach podcasters starting out I push them towards equipment that will let them monitor loopback AND mic/main mix (i coach a lot of music podcasters and news roundup podcasters) so they can queue up their comments, interstitials and commentaries while the track/media is playing. Initial equipment cost is higher in some cases but so worth the freedom of spontaneity. Cheers for the honest review
Excellent breakdown, we had this mixer a few months ago.. didn't need all the inputs and was confused by those fx / mix features you clarified so overall glad we sent back and again thanks for explaining - they should really do breakdowns like this on their own website / channel
Thank you for explaining all these outputs and options, its unbelievable that companies churn these products out but won't tell anyone without a degree in audio engineering how it works.
well, these toys are kinda for people with knowledge in the field. I couldn't blame a jet engine company for not making a RUclips tutorial about how to operate the damn engine
A couple years later to the party, but here's my grain of salt. I own a Xenyx X1204USB, a similar model at around 50USD more than this one, I use it for record guitar and singing and for streaming. And for everyone interested in this, here's my setup for streaming: - Via USB i listen to all the system sounds and the videogame sound (this mixer let you hear the USB on the headphone output and record via USB at the same time, BUT you can't record the USB send in the USB return, if you send the USB to the main mix you will not be able to record via USB) - I have the headphones port of the computer conected to channel 5/6 (which, like this one, are stereo). Using the windows sound mix I route my communications to this channel (zoom, discord, whatever), and channel 5/6 is then routen in the mixer to the Alt 3-4 outputs. The headphones/cntr room is monitoring all three options (main mix, usb and alt 3-4). In this way only I can hear the communications, is not going to the stream, BUT if I want the stream to hear it I just route channel 5/6 to the main mix. (the USB ONLY record or hear the main mix, not the ALT3-5) - My phone is connected to the RCA inputs so I can play music if I want with no one else hearing (avoiding any chance of DMCA) and I can control the music without changing anything in the computer. - I have an AT-2035 connected to the mixer as the main mic. In that channel I have volume in the AUX1 and in the AUX2 (FX), AUX1 - Send is connected to my camara input so I can have audio in there too (my current HDMI capture card has quite some latency so its better to capture audio from the camera than try to sync it), and the AUX2 is just in case you want to add FX to your voice (I use the built in pitch changer). - In the AUX send I have both at 50% (12:00) - In the FX return I also have it on 50% and the button is pressed to send the FX to alt 3-5, so when I want the FX activated I only click one button. ( I won't hear my coms with FX since the AUX volume there is 0%) - In another channel I have my guitar (thru a pedal board) just in case I want to play guitar on stream. For my "studio" recording I connect the ALT3-4 outputs to my PC in the mic input or in a usb audio card, this give me an additional 2 channels to my DAW. The in the mixer I pan one channel to the right and other to the left, for the main mix, and the same but routed to ALT3-4, in this way I have 4 individual mono channels to record, maybe no that many, but at least is enough for me. I been working on making this setup for a couple month, trial and error on different configurations, and so far this is the best. I think (haven't tried) you can add two extra channels for recording using the two AUX channels to another USB Audio card. And honestly, I wrote all of this just because I'm so proud of my setup I wanted to share it somewhere hahaha But If you have any doubt let me know :)
I'm sorry bro you lost me LOL. But this actually sounds SUPER important because I want to stream AND record on my DAW. Is it possible you can make a video for us? That'd be amazing, if not do you recommend this or another mixer that's more simple to stream and record music. Seriously thanks.... I'm losing my mind looking for a perfect one.
You are the best audio monster for explaining audio for voice dude. I have a Xenys QX1002 USB and I completely agree there are missing some features on these mixers.
I have the XENYX Q1202USB and I am so grateful for this video - you do a very complete job in explaining everything. I could not for the life of me figure out why there was no FX return (other Xenyx models seem to have this) but I am getting the fact that signal can be sent to any other input. You also confirmed what I saw with those 2 buttons [usb/2-Track] they are confusing and I still do not see the purpose. Connecting it to the computer had many latency issues so I just would scratch anymore attempts with mixing any live music. Other than the few minor weak points, I have found many other uses for this mixer and am able to route many audio signals and even drive my studio monitors, which is all that I could hope for. It's well made, does a great job and at a great price point!
I'm starting out streaming fighting games in my community as well as church recording. I've asked many questions, searched many how to's, your 1 video provided me more knowledge in 10 mins than 3 months of searching. I know a like and subscribe with a purchase of the direct link from you channel is the least I can do but I hope there is more. Thank you
So the weird quirk about those Xenyx Q---- USB mixers is that you can get 0-latency monitoring of your mic, you just need to do this mind boggling thing where you connect the 2-track out to the 2-track in... I don't know why they thought this was a good idea, but I had some A/V cables lying around and it works fine on a Q502USB. Just weird...
I use this mixer with 3 condenser microphones (Marantz Professional MPM-1000) for my RUclips channel. I also on occasion run my TV through if I want to use my monitor speakers for football games. I like the mixer a lot. It's easy to use and is tough enough for a two-year-old to constantly mess with. Thanks for the review.
Most podcasters aren't mixing anything. They just need phantom power if they want to use a condenser and a single mic preamp. You'd be better off with just a better audio interface if you are concerned about latency and monitoring. Basically, you don't need the mixer, and further more, you don't need a USB mixer from a budget brand that once was a better brand.
I disagree, I have no use for all the inputs BUT the issue is that they add features with higher price and more inputs. Basically there is NO Single input mixers or audio interfaces that have Gain + equalizer + compression By using this device i can avoid using lots of post editing, i can set the mixer that best suits my vocie or enhance my voice if i want it sound different/better, i can use compressor and in some cases i can uses FX And right now on sale it goes for 55EUR which is cheaper then smaller mixers and good audio interfaces which all above 100SUD/EUR People love the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audio interface because it does 24bit/196hz, it only has gain setting and for Voce recording you dont need 24bit nor 196hz [im sure people recording song will enjoy it for ease of editing but whats the point for pure vocie?], this one costs 99USD in USA and 89USD in UK and 78USD in Germany and this mixer right now is 55GBP in UK
Great video. I came across the issue of trying to record my voice with an instrumental and could NOT accomplish my goal lol. I was so frustrated!! I finally used a DAW in conjunction with the mixer and amazingly it worked. I'm still amazed that it works altogether and the sound quality is very nice as well. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. You did answer other questions that I had in regards to adding a compressor. Thanks again :) ......
To monitor microphone and listen the USB audio you can connect an RCA stereo audio cable from REC out to 2tr in, press the button USB to phone and unpress USB to main, I have the qx1002usb and this trick works and has saved this mixer from a barbecue
I have an alternative solution for the computer playback problem. On Linux with PulseAudio and Jack, it is possible to route your audio via multiple interfaces at the same time. So any audio playback can be sent to the built-in headphone out of the laptop and then sent to one of the inputs in the mixer. This is assuming the computer is mainly used for providing extra tracks on playback. You can still record from the USB mix into your DAW. If you have processed audio from the PC anyway (like using plugins for vocals or guitar) it would be more reasonable to monitor the wet signal from the PC instead of the dry input because it can be confusing if you hear unprocessed signal but the audience hears the processed signal. I'm sure there's an equivalent windows solution too. Oh and if you shortened your video by 4 seconds, it would be exactly 12:02 long 😀
THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR THISSSSS AAAAAAA i have the 502 and i wanted to upgrade because of the instruments i have thank you so much for another awesome review, no one better than you
You are mistaken, if you would like use headphones for music records, please link (L)out->(L)in ; (Rout->(R)out in 2-Track device on your mixer Q1202USB. Then put down [TO PHONES/CTRL RM] button and you can listen what you play, play background track by USB output device of Q1202USB and record what you play on PC using USB input device of Q1202USB. I you use tape deck for analogue recording you don't have to link what I described before. Deck internally does the loop for you so you can record and playback via USB as well. Enjoy it!
This video was super helpful. The step by step break down is really informative. I love this device. I'm considering buying it for a podcast I want to start with a friend. Thanks once again.
"There is no way to monitor what you're saying while listening to the audio being played on your computer." I don't understand why this can't be done on the XENYX Q1202USB when it can be done by the XENYX 302USB?
@@TheLegend-wz1ye Use a Jack splitter he. And on top of it plugin 2 others, etc.. Or use Blootooth headphones, set sound output of pc to Bluetooth. All is possible.
I have this unit, and I got some good info from your review/explanation. However, what I've struggled with is how the inputs/outputs interact with the USB connection to my PC. "Mixing," after all, is the chief function of a mixer. Maybe one of these days, I'll find a YT video that covers that. Thanks!
I have a similar mixer - the QX1002USB. It has the same problem with not being able to monitor your own audio at the same time as the USB input. I found a way to get around it, though - I take the effects send (the 6.35mm TS mono jack) and feed that signal into the ports labelled 2-track in. These get mixed with the USB signal and that way you can use the effects bus to control the volume of whatever channels you would like to monitor at the same time as being able to listen to the audio from the computer.
Great "NO BS" review! I was thinking about buying one of these, but I think I will do a little more shopping. I have an "almost dead" Roland VM3100 Pro" and looking for a budget mixer in this price range since I am using a DAW for single-artist production.
What would you recommend for a musician? Trying to keep it under $150 Thanks in advance, I was going to buy this and saw your video, I definitely want to hear the computer playback.
@A D no guys I actually got the Mackie Mix 12FX, perfect for what I'm doing. I use Audacity to record and noise reduce, it sounds like studio quality no joke.
I think it's nice that Behringer rereleased the Xenyx mixers with compressors and USB, but it would be even nicer if they released a new line of mixers with their Midas preamps.
I bought this mixer for smaller live gigs while keeping my larger mixer in my studio. You didn't mention its FX abilities. I also bought this unit for the reverb. I have another small mixer, (20 years old), but it doesn't have FX. What about the FX? Stay groovy!!
You are incorrect about the 2track button. Not a design flaw. If you send the computers sound output to the rca inputs and then turn on the 2track to control room, it will playback audio and monitor the mic but only record the mic inputs. 2track to mix sends the playback audio and the mic to the main mix. You should be utilizing the main out, control room out, and 2track in for a proper setup. If you are only using headphones control room out wont be used. These are actually great for home studio use. I use a xenyx 1202 and 802 in a chain (10 mics) for drums. Those then run into my main mixer and that into the interface. Took a while to get it dialed in but sounds amazing for 2track drumming.
Firstly thanks for a useful and informative video. I use this mixer with iPad / iPhone and have no issues with latency on those devices. I’ve yet to try it with my PC with Cakewalk though. It’s great for combing matched pair condensers with dynamic mics to get a good stereo image of drums using the Glyn John method. I find that that low cut is useful for recording drums where the bass drum farts out with too much bass. I agree the control room buttons are confusing- but I can monitor what I’m playing while recording and hearing the other tracks but I have to remember which buttons are up or down. But in GarageBand in iOS I get zero latency. I guess on pc it might be the drivers needed to recognise I/O from the mixer that causes latency.
Vinnie Monte-Irvine I was considering this mixer solely so I could have 4 mics set up for a podcast. I don’t know of any other way to get 4 mics to my laptop.
Wow THANKS SO MUCH you’re the shit !! You aren’t annoying you don’t waste time you’re super informative you are funny as fuck you’re to the point and you are super organized! THANKS SO MUCH I was about to purchase this because it seemed super dope to be able to have so many ins and uses when I really just need a simple audio interface but I’m a musician and HOLY FUCK I would have been pissed if I bought this and then found out later there’s no playback and the other issues you mentioned !!! Subbed for sure and thumbs up ! Thanks my friend
I like and trust your reviews, please do make reviews for The t.Bone mics... especially the the "t.bone SC 1100" they do have tube mics as well for your liking.
Well we do podcasting and thi is usb/2tr whatever buttons are a pain in the butt, its either we can't hear our guests audio in streamyard or they can't hear us... you have to be pressing the stupid button on and off... that sucks... Great video as always thank you
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with this mixer, I'm sorry it's not working for your application but it's great for the next person researching to know of this drawback. I appreciate ya.
My first interface for VO was the Q502 USB. Just one xlr input, it worked fine. Then I switched to the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 and really like it. (I went with the 18i8 rather than a smaller one to do interview style podcasts but works great for the VO stuff too!)
If your only a 2 person podcast you can pan mic 1 left and mic 2 right on mixer while recording. Then split to mono in recording software and you will have 2 separate audio tracks. This allows for much easier edits!!!
it should. If it has enough inputs for your needs, and your outputs are simple, yeah. this should do it. But if your amplifiers are too far, then you would like to have balanced mix output so you don't get noise on the way out (either you get a board with integrated balanced outs, or you balance with an external box right out of the mixer)
Thank you so much for posting this/ (subscribed) : I've been struggling to find the right setup to record ADR in Fairlight (resolve) and hear the playback whilst monitoring the audio - I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I didn't realise that this mixer can't do it. I actually have the 1202fx with UCA222.
A comment about the USB port.... I am affraid I did not hear correctly and have not replayed this video but seems to me that you are trying to hear or monitor music thru the USB port coming from your computer. I stumbled with the same with my Behringer 1204USB and it takes a particular combination of those 2 track/USB buttons... although the USB port is intended to be an output port to your recording software. There are video tutorials about how to use the USB port correctly.
The to main mix or the to phones button is useful if you record some guitar for example into your daw and then you want to listen to the rythm and play more you can press the to phones button listen to what you recorded and still play more
Hey bandrew....as usual, great review.....quick question ... for voice over, do you recommend this mixer...and how is the noise level of the mixer....can it work clean, for voice over ...thanks man......also, if you can recommend some start up, inexpensive usb mixers, with low, or close to no self noise....I'll really appreciate it
The main problem I've encountered with this device is the wobbly electrical connection. I have no problem with the fact that it doesn't have an On/Off switch, I can keep it connected and use an On/Off adaptor. However, the the electric-in simply sticks out with any touch or movement. A serious design flaw.
Hello and thank you for your nice video. I use to connect my Korg Krome keyboard into my Bose Compnaion 5 (2.1 system) Aux Input: the 2 1/4 jack keyboard output (for a stereo sound) are converted into a single 3.5mm jack that plugs into the Companion 5 Aux Input. I works nice. The Bose are already connected on my computer via USB connection. Now I would like to connect my DX7 synth (2 output 1/4 jack), my electric guitar (1 output 1/4 jack), and my Yamaha Piagero NPV80 2 keyboard (1 output 1/4 jack) to my Bose 2.1 speakers, the whole IN STEREO, via the entry jack 3.5 mm. Do I need to use a mixer (BEHRINGER XENYX QX1002USB), an audio interface (BEHRINGER UMC404HD), or both of them? Thank you in advance for your answers!
I'd like to see some music sampler / looper reviews. A mixer is cool, but I'd like to do more like add sfx or add a quick drum beat on the fly as I use my mic.
I've been thinking of getting a smaller one of these. The pre-amps sound really nice and quiet and offer a lot of power. The 12 inputs mixed down to a stereo is a bummer. Of course at that price point you can;t expect it to send out 12 individual outputs into your DAW but that's something that wasn;t obvious to me when I looked at this originally ... I saw 12 input and USB and assumed it would send 12 individual inputs to the PC and not a 2 channel mix. I'm glad I did a bit more research or i would have been super disappointed. Something else I would like is being able to enable or disable 48v per input instead of on or off for all 4 inputs at once. Of course with all the extra inputs on this one it's not a huge deal but on the smaller mixers (502,802 ...) it's a small problem. Something else that would be cool would be internal recording. Being able to record straight to the device on a SDCard like with a field recorder so that you could use it to record away from a PC ... I guess you could use the outputs to connect it to a Tascam DR-40 (or any other recorder) but still.
Hey bandrew....now I learn by asking questions, so here is a question for you.....would a behringer xenyx 1204usb mixer, deliver some quality in audio for voice over?...I can't afford any high end usb mixer at the moment. So, im after the next good thing , that's affordable...again, your knowledge is needed ... thanks
I heard that if you run your computer output through the headphone jack and run it into one of the inputs you can hear both mic and computer and leave the usb for input to computer only
I've tried the qx1202 usb twice, and when I listen to my recording I always hear a light hizz/ static noise coming from it and i dont know how to fix it and just go back and use my 2i2 any idea how to fix the issue i would like a nice mixer. thanks
Really good explanation. But I have a question. What do you think is the best mixer to start making music at home? I have been watching a lot of videos and I am not clear at all. BTW 12 channel mixer. Thank you.
I got the Behringer Xenyx 1202, which is very similar to this unit, but does not have a USB connector. I'm packing it up to return it right now because the power supply does fit snugly into the mixer and disconnects occasionally. Not sure if this one has the same issues.
I have the AG03 (the smaller version), and I can't wait to test it out. I just know it will take a while to get a good handle on the features and make the video.
Great review man! Have been looking at one of these for some podcasting and this helped out a ton. Only question, could I take the fx send output and run it to a camera like the 70D? Thanks for everything man. Your channel has helped me a ton
A compressor does not "bring up the quieter parts". It reduces (compresses) the overall dynamic range of the signal. A leveler will do what you describe, but a compressor is NOT a leveler.
Great vid. Wich mixer would you recommend me? I am a drummer and looking for something where I can connect my lap top for playing with backing tracks and click. Also connect a percussion pad. I need to be able to receive a personal mix of the other musicians and the drums from the main mixer. So, I need to hear the click, the backing track and the mix of all the instruments. Thank you in advanced!!
I have a xenyx 1202FX mixer and i’m wondering why I’m just hearing the vocal effect such as reverb from Phone port and cannot turn off the effects to monitor just dry vocal signal.Sorry for my broken English,I’m from Malaysia.Btw great Channel 👍👍👍😊
What microphone do you use? I want a mic for a 2-people podcast and the most that I can give is around 250 dollars! I was going to buy the "Blue Yeti Pro" but I saw in one of your videos that you do not think that it is a good microphone! Can you suggest an alternative with crystal clear sound? Thank you
Monitoring IS possible on this thing. What you need to do is connect cinch cables to the 2-Track section, routing the sound out and then right back in. So when the button 'to phones/ctr room' is pressed, the Behringer adds the 2-track input to the mix. Et voila, your real-time hardware monitoring! (the USB ONLY record or hear the main mix, not the ALT3-5)
- My phone is connected to the RCA inputs so I can play music if I want with no one else hearing (avoiding any chance of DMCA) and I can control the music without changing anything in the computer.
- In the AUX send I have both at 50% (12:00)
- In the FX return I also have it on 50% and the button is pressed to send the FX to alt 3-5, so when I want the FX activated I only click one button. ( I won't hear my coms with FX since the AUX volume there is 0%)
- In another channel I have my guitar (thru a pedal board) just in case I want to play guitar on stream.
Also is it possible to reduce the latency feedback? I didn't read through it all if you did cover it lol
Good job! I had a similar setup in mind. This board does not have alt3-4, though.
Very informative, I bought mine (Behringer Xenyx 302USB) a few weeks ago and I'm still happy with it! :)
Whoa, how does this work?
Actually thats not weird at all. You will find this is a common ned on many mixers and you can actually buy u-plugs made for the task
Love your vids. Quick to the point, no beatin round the bush - no bs.
How about the audio track or tracks to the computer via USB? How many separate tracks do you get in your DAW?
Thanks for getting round to this man!
WintersLegacy yeah. It's been sitting around for over a year. Ha.
Podcastage it took me ages to figure out how to monitor the mic, such a pain in the arse.
I have the Q502USB, does a fantastic job, been using for just over a year.
Thanks dude! Couldn't figure out the "To Phones..." & "To Main Mix" buttons until I saw your explanation
I agree they don't need to spend more than a good interface. But more XLR ports is where it's at.
I disagree, I have no use for all the inputs BUT the issue is that they add features with higher price and more inputs.
Basically there is NO Single input mixers or audio interfaces that have Gain + equalizer + compression
By using this device i can avoid using lots of post editing, i can set the mixer that best suits my vocie or enhance my voice if i want it sound different/better, i can use compressor and in some cases i can uses FX
And right now on sale it goes for 55EUR which is cheaper then smaller mixers and good audio interfaces which all above 100SUD/EUR
People love the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audio interface because it does 24bit/196hz, it only has gain setting and for Voce recording you dont need 24bit nor 196hz [im sure people recording song will enjoy it for ease of editing but whats the point for pure vocie?], this one costs 99USD in USA and 89USD in UK and 78USD in Germany and this mixer right now is 55GBP in UK
Thanks again :) ......
read my comment above, good luck!
Oh and if you shortened your video by 4 seconds, it would be exactly 12:02 long 😀
THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR THISSSSS AAAAAAA i have the 502 and i wanted to upgrade because of the instruments i have thank you so much for another awesome review, no one better than you
Thanks for demonstrating the effects of adjusting the eq. Helped me fine tune my mixer.
Thank you! I was looked a mixer to record multitrack music and you save me a world of pain. It is not the mixer for me.
Enjoy it!
I suggested someone try this and it works apparently. Good job!
Why? Why would they provide the mixer in The box?!?!?!
I do feel good about it coming with a sticker.
+David Handy if only they knew what people really wanted, the box would be full of stickers with no mixer.
Like they said in the movie, EXCELLENT!!! this was an awesome video I wish I had this video when I purchased this QX1002.
Of course you can monitor what you are saying; SET input on USB interface / and output on your computer speakers.
Nice work!! Even a total novice like me could follow. Vocalist/musician wanting to record and perform live, so you saved me some money, guy!
They should come with a burned sticker so you always be happy :P
Elastico345 Lol
You deserve soooooooooooo many more subscribers!!!!
You're too kind!
Podcastage :)
@@Podcastage Hey. Wanted to know how many headphone jack this this has and is it possible to connect more than one. Thank you.
@@TheLegend-wz1ye Use a Jack splitter he. And on top of it plugin 2 others, etc.. Or use Blootooth headphones, set sound output of pc to Bluetooth. All is possible.
What an amazing style of reviews. You deserve far, far, far more views and suscribers!!!
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Best Mixer demo out there. Thank you!
I just can't find anyone else who can do a proper mic review.
Excellent as usual. Thank you.
I have this unit, and I got some good info from your review/explanation. However, what I've struggled with is how the inputs/outputs interact with the USB connection to my PC. "Mixing," after all, is the chief function of a mixer. Maybe one of these days, I'll find a YT video that covers that. Thanks!
Very good honest review. Subscribed!
Just bought one. The British EQ was the attraction.
so touching for an excellent video
This was really helpful! Thank you for doing these super thorough walkthroughs for us beginners.
instablaster
I've been watching a bunch of your videosd lately because I'm looking for a usb audio interface.. Compliments a lot for what you do!
What would you recommend for a musician? Trying to keep it under $150
Thanks in advance, I was going to buy this and saw your video, I definitely want to hear the computer playback.
Alesis multimix 8 usb fx
@A D no guys I actually got the Mackie Mix 12FX, perfect for what I'm doing. I use Audacity to record and noise reduce, it sounds like studio quality no joke.
I think it's nice that Behringer rereleased the Xenyx mixers with compressors and USB, but it would be even nicer if they released a new line of mixers with their Midas preamps.
That would be AMAZING!
When you were testing the UMC204HD, did you get any audio wobbles with that?
The behringers have the most confusing master sections in mixer world !! They make simple things very complicated !! Nice review :
Awesome video as per usual man🍻cheers!
I bought this mixer for smaller live gigs while keeping my larger mixer in my studio. You didn't mention its FX abilities. I also bought this unit for the reverb. I have another small mixer, (20 years old), but it doesn't have FX. What about the FX? Stay groovy!!
Hey, hey, thanks for the link and shoutout! This damn series of mixers stole a lot of life that I want back;) Also, ASMR bi.... LOL nice one.
You're absolutely welcome Ray. Keep up the great work. =)
This was a wonderful review. Thank you. Just purchased it. $99.90 on Amazon Prime.
Dude you're super cool, love the simplicity of your explanations.
I'm less than one minute in, and already enjoying the video. Thank you for not putting me to sleep!
That's a nice fricken sticker.
U r the best youtuber❤️
milton braggs you are too kind man.
Thanks Bandrew. :-)
Great review.
I don't think this one has a place in my setup.
I like and trust your reviews, please do make reviews for The t.Bone mics... especially the the "t.bone SC 1100"
they do have tube mics as well for your liking.
Thank you for breaking everything down! Your video was informative and incredibly helpful.
Great video, everything u said was my problems with it ,was gonna sell it and buy a umc 22 but I'll keep it thanks
wow. great review!
My first interface for VO was the Q502 USB. Just one xlr input, it worked fine. Then I switched to the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 and really like it. (I went with the 18i8 rather than a smaller one to do interview style podcasts but works great for the VO stuff too!)
Excellent review. Thank you.
If your only a 2 person podcast you can pan mic 1 left and mic 2 right on mixer while recording. Then split to mono in recording software and you will have 2 separate audio tracks. This allows for much easier edits!!!
Thank you for the review.
nice review
How could I connect multiple headphones to this ?
Thanks for the nice and complete review man. One question: all in all do you think this is a good mixer for live performances?
it should. If it has enough inputs for your needs, and your outputs are simple, yeah. this should do it. But if your amplifiers are too far, then you would like to have balanced mix output so you don't get noise on the way out (either you get a board with integrated balanced outs, or you balance with an external box right out of the mixer)
Great vid bro you recommended me the mic and I am happy about it
Thank you so much for posting this/ (subscribed) : I've been struggling to find the right setup to record ADR in Fairlight (resolve) and hear the playback whilst monitoring the audio - I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I didn't realise that this mixer can't do it. I actually have the 1202fx with UCA222.
is there a team that can?
You would want the HPF on everything but Kick Bass & Music Tracks. It cuts out the low end rumble handling noise….
Thanks for the vids I've been thinking about upgrading to xlr but I doubt anyone cares
I just pick this mixer today ($85) with zero research. Would this mixer be ok for karaoke at a medium venue , like a small bar . Great review BTW .
Eric Have you seen the Zoom Z12!? I believe it does EVERYTHING you just mentioned.
Podcastage i cant find that online anywhere. You sire about the name?
I'm a total dope. It's the Zoom LiveTrak L-12: amzn.to/2w5b9Uj
HOLY. That's a bit out of my price range LOL but yeah it does everything I was asking for.
nice video, but at the end I got myself wondering: If I am a musician and this is not gonna make it, which would be a good alternative for the price?
Could you add the Shure SM27 to the mic poll? It might be time to drop the PG42and PG42USB, it looks like they're both discontinued. Thanks.
Hey bandrew....now I learn by asking questions, so here is a question for you.....would a behringer xenyx 1204usb mixer, deliver some quality in audio for voice over?...I can't afford any high end usb mixer at the moment. So, im after the next good thing , that's affordable...again, your knowledge is needed ... thanks
9:37 success unlocked : "ASMR B*tch"
I heard that if you run your computer output through the headphone jack and run it into one of the inputs you can hear both mic and computer and leave the usb for input to computer only
I've tried the qx1202 usb twice, and when I listen to my recording I always hear a light hizz/ static noise coming from it and i dont know how to fix it and just go back and use my 2i2 any idea how to fix the issue i would like a nice mixer. thanks
Bad cables? Bad mic? Lemon mixer? Running the mixer through a cheap USB hub? Bad power outlet?
Am I the only one who found it odd that as the compressor was dialed up it increased the clipping?
So fking helpful thanks alot
good combination for mixer and usb audio card, behringer in beautiful product, ciao
I just ordered this for my RUclips channel. I live stream and I think this will work well with my Encore 200 mic.
Please try to review the Yamaha AG06 Mixer. It's popular for podcasters, they say.
I have the AG03 (the smaller version), and I can't wait to test it out. I just know it will take a while to get a good handle on the features and make the video.
Podcastage thx for the reply!
Assuming you do not utilize any make-up gain, you're right.
Thank you
