I’ve played with this for the last month. Love it. I played the blade v8 and switched to this because I needed a bit softer racquet for my elbow and more power than the blade.
Nice review on the Synergy 98 and Tour 98. Love the specs. I have had the Synergy 98 last year, really enjoying it. Will get one Tour 98 for sure. Thanks again!
Hi, congratulations for the review. I own a Prince Tour ATS 98 and I find it to be a good racket overall, certainly very comfortable. I wanted to ask you how you evaluate it in relation to the TW review which seems exaggerated to me, and secondly how you evaluate the Prince ATS 98 in control compared to other 98 rackets. THANK YOU
How was it on serve? For that balance and weight, that's a pretty high sw. I just looked and the 310 actually has a lower sw! I'm pretty happy with my blade v8 but you have me intrigued with the talk of a little more power!
Thx for the review! I’m playing with a pure strike for a while now, but looking for something easier on my arm as I’m getting older, plus something with more mobility / whippiness (like topsin, touch, slice backhand, kick lefty serve) and stability at the net. Narrowed down to this racquet (waiting for demo) and also the head radical mp and speed mp…thoughts on best option?
I've demoed the radical MP and Speed MP (2022) and this new Tour 98 is a much better all around performer. Just does everything really well, which adds consistence to my overall game. Not sure why some rackets serve better than others but the Tour 98 is definitely a winner (great placement/control and more pop).
@@nicolelee7440 ah I settled on the radical mp since it felt crisp and a good fit with my game and hopefully enough of a players racquet to help me get back to playing 4.5 level singles as a 50 year old…the prince just seemed too hard to get a hold of to demo. I’ll try to demo it again before committing - thx!!
Great and accurate review...I' m seriously thinking to switch to this frame but I'm not sure about the sweetspot. Can I get more stability compared to Wilson Blade v8 16*19?
Not much in it stability wise if I am honest. More comfort from the prince for sure, I love the v 8 blade but it’s the only stick that made my arm sensitive - odd!
Thank you. I like Lynx tour too. I think it would work well, the 98 is quite powerful for a 98 so the lynx tour will add some bite and control. Watch the swing weight though, thicker lynx tour is heavy, I always go with 1.25 for lynx tour. Hope that helps
I own the 98 and previously owned the 100. I vastly prefer the 98 - much faster swinging through the air compared to the much clunkier 100. Slightly more demanding due to the smaller sweetspot but if you're after more of a players racquet with great feel, great balance of power, stability and spin go the 98. I was actually disappointed by the 100 particularly the loopy ridiculously open 16x18 drill pattern.
Hello, Can you please compare this racket to the wilson blade 98 16X19 V5 (the one with 66 RA) ? i used to play with the prince textreme tour 100 2019 and i switched to this blade V5 ... is the prince ats 98 a mix between the two rackets ?
Quality videos. I am interested in the prince rackets for their low stiffness but can't find demo services here in the UK. I currently use the blade 18x20 2013 and am looking for something with a little more pop but without sacrificing too much control and, crucially, being arm-friendly. Which out of the ats tour 98 and the synergy 98 do you think might be the best fit for me? Thanks!
Hi, I would look at this for sure. Maybe also demo the ezone 98 most recent version. That is of course a little more crisp in feel. Try the 310 too - love that frame !
Hi, more power and spin with the 98 in my opinion but length of shot comes easy with the 310 (despite string pattern it’s great to flatten out shots and block returns). 98 faster through the air. I prefer the 310, X factor with that racket for me.
@@chrisc2439 hi, have hit a lot of six ones and have the current pro labs to review soon but have not hit or considered the team no - good is it? What do you customise it to?
@@tenniseuphoria5012 i customized two six.one teams for fun (purchased used for $30/40usd). got them up to ~340g. ~5 g 3,9 and the rest in the handle/butt cap. around 6-7pt hl. probably low 320s sw. not a lot of plow in general or pop on serve, but directional control on volleys and groundstrokes are really good. in stock form i like the low 60s stiffness, 95 head, 18x20 pattern, and thin constant beam. makes for a decent platform frame, but i think i still need to tinker with it more to get more plow. hope you get a chance to try it out, too!
Good shout, similar power level. The extreme tour is more stiff and this comes across in feel - this is much more plush. You can get similar levels of spin from this too so the choice between the two would be feel. I like the extreme tour but always found it a bit crisp, think this has nicer feel
@@fahmikum1178 very difficult to explain but I’ll try. First, I feel like it’s a pretty extreme launch angle for being a tweener, control racquet. There’s a weird thing to have a very flexible racquet with a thick beam too. It’s like you’re getting pocketing and the trampoline effect at the same time. Maybe there is more dwell time than I’m accounting for? Also not as much spin as the launch angle implies, so my forehand is pretty topspin heavy, they just don’t drop. Backhand is usually pretty flat, so I don’t think it suffers as badly.
I’ve played with this for the last month. Love it. I played the blade v8 and switched to this because I needed a bit softer racquet for my elbow and more power than the blade.
Hi, did you get more power especially from groundstrokes and service?
I purchased tour98 based on this video.
I really like the design of the racket, which is cooler than the Japanese model.
Have your tried both the Japanese and Us models?
Nice review on the Synergy 98 and Tour 98. Love the specs. I have had the Synergy 98 last year, really enjoying it. Will get one Tour 98 for sure. Thanks again!
Solid review of an intriguing racquet. Thoughts on this compared to the new Ezone 98?
Good shout. Similar characteristics but the feel is very different, softer and more plush with this one
Great review ! How would you compare to the head gravity tour?
Thanks
How does it compare exactly to the synergy 98? And a boom 98?

Didn't see the stringing pattern in the specs; is it 18x20?

@@tenniseuphoria5012 the server were much better on the 98 over the 100/310 ?
How does it compare to the Diadem elevate 98 V3?
Do you prefer this or the Tecnifibre TF40 305 16x19 you reviewed recently?
Tecnifibre for me. This is a lovely frame, little too powerful for me and I feel
the 23 mm beam. Also prefer the 310 16x18 to this. Great frame though
Thanks! I think I might go for this though, I need a bit more power than the Tf40. Great review and channel

Opted for the ezone 98 2022 in the end, absolutely brilliant frame. Dare i say a gamechanger compared to the old blade

It’s stiffer than the prince but i’ve found stringing it around 50 with a softer string is perfectly fine
