- Hey there metal maniacs! It's your pal the Meista here with another killer interview for you! This past weekend I had the great pleasure of conducting an interview with the incredibly talented, forthcoming, and very friendly Bobby Gustafson, legendary guitarist of Satans Taint! We chatted about his latest music, his time with bands like Overkill and Vio-lence, and much more!
Enjoy!!

Cheers and Hails!! \m/ \m/
*Special thanks to John Thomas for setting up this interview, to Jamie Winters for designing the Brews and Tunes logo, to Jerry Howard for creating the Brews and Tunes intro video and to DiseNgaged for the use of their song "The Real Me" (copyright 2020)
This guy deserves so much more for putting Overkill on the map. Bobby, if it wasn't for you, they would have been a garage band! \m/
Agreed my friend!
He deserves some respect for sure! He put Overkill on the top shelf with a few other thrash bands in the 80s. Tons of thrash bands came out at that time with two guitarists who didn't have the riffs, chugging rhythms or leads like he did. When I picked up Taking Over cassette in 87 I sure wasn't banging my head to the bass. Although the bass sounds cool it didn't make me wanna slam.
First show was Overkill, Slayer and Motorhead in 1988. Club NRG, Houston TX. Don't forget Rat States killing it on drums back then too!
When over kill was really overkill
Exactly...The Years of Decay is one of my favorite albums🤘
I love the first four Overkill albums. I have a white explorer because of the Hello From the Gutter video. Huge hero of mine.
Hell yeah! Thanks for watching!
@@themeista-brewstunes6803 Bobby has not responded to me, and for 6 months I have been trying to reach him to ask where I can buy the 1st album, I bought the 2nd Taint album about a year ago, but I can't seem to reach him so I can buy the second CD. any help would be appreciated. \m/
@@METALHEAD550 Hey man! Please email Morallaki77@yahoo.com. Mike can hook you up with a CD. Cheers!

@@themeista-brewstunes6803 Thank you I will, I got the second album from Amazon back in September, but now they are sold out, so yea, I'll order AXE from one of these sites you gave me, and trying to reach Bobby is impossible, but I understand that he is working and always busy.
The sound of thrash is in the room. Nice to see you again Bobby.
Killer interview, Hoss!
The talk of the glory times of thrash at L’Amour recalled great memories. Overkill, Anthrax, Slayer, Nuclear Assault, etc at that club …those were the days!!!
Thanks very much brother!! Yeah, I bet those shows were amazing!! 🤘🤘
@@themeista-brewstunes6803 They were indeed!
Good to see Bobby!!!!
Also wondered what happened to the violence connection …. But it was probably down to logistics?
I seen Bobby/Overkill open for Megadeth 6/10/87 at the UT. State Fairgrounds. What a great show! Bobby is a MONSTER guitarist!! Thanks Victor!!
Oh, nice!! Thanks brother!!
That was for the under the influence tour? I remember playing with them at the Roxy in Hollywood California for the under the influence tour. They had us, and another local band is the time named Commander. Both of us were Los Angeles bands!! Wow the memories
I have to say listening to this more than one time I can relate more. I don’t know whether it’s because we’re the same age but I would really like to see you. I can get together with this guy because I think that the both of us would be able to put out some insane music
Interesting that every time Bobby mentions Vio-lence, there were no follow up questions regarding his departure. Almost like it's a taboo subject. Or maybe ask if the material he wrote while in Vio-lence, that Bobby referenced, was more in the Vio vein than a ST vein? Meista didn't say the "V" word one time🤪. Instead he spoke about the bands that he was never in.....
Agreed my friend. I missed the boat on going down the Vio-lence path. I actually meant to circle back and discuss Vio-lence in detail but got distracted. 🙄 Thanks for watching and for your comments!
The best of the best
This man is the signature of overkill period overkill today is a joke
Far from a joke. Blitz and company are still putting out quality content 40 years on.
You said the name of the record label wrong. Lmfao. It's Morallaki like Malachai from children of the corn.
Oh shit... I totally did mispronounce it! Haha! Oops!
