Jeff Young is great in Kings of Thrash. He has a lot of energy on guitar. I enjoyed their show so much in Columbus, Ohio. Hook in Mouth is amazing and I like the new song too.
Yeah I would hesitate to use the word "pioneer," he played on literally only one well known album, and if it wasn't for that no one would know who he is. I don't mean that as a diss to him, it's just fact.
Yeah but metal albums don't count unless they're thrash or death metal. Megadeth got boring in the 90's. Jeff Young had a lot to do with people loving Megadeth and Kings of Thrash. He still goes hard in shows today.
@@rodbelding9523 I guess it's a matter of semanthics and how you perceive the meaning of the words. If you understand the concept of "Thrash pioneer" as someone who played in one of Thrash Metal's essential legendary and early albums, which were obviously all from the 80's, then, it's true. There are several legendary and pioneer musicians/bands - a lot more than Jeff, obviously - that only recorded one album. In Black and Death Metal there are a few cases.
He is a very good guitarist..check out the live performances of KOT..every licks & solos are spot on like the album..also very technical as is the guitar works from SFSGSW. Remember back then this record is huge after the classic Peace Sells.
I love everything about this. Them going to analog is a big deal because metal has become sanitary with the use of pro tools. I just heard Cannibal Corpse's new song and the drums don't sound humanly possible. Dave Lombardo can't play 180bpm, and he's one of the greatest. I hate pro tools and the bands that use editing software, because it makes them sound sterile like bunch of machines.
He definitely likes to hear himself talk 😂.. he’s got stones saying Mustaine is having issues playing the songs Megadeth is currently playing on tour. He says, “they can’t play those songs,” referring to SO FAR SO GOOD, but it’s not like he can play Marty’s solos either..
It's really embarrassing to badmouth the guy who wrote the songs that are the only thing you're known for. Regardless if Dave is in the wrong, this band of fired members would be better off just telling fun stories instead of talking shit like a group of ex-girlfriends who got dumped
Well, it's not really talking shit if it's true 💁♂ Everything he said sounded very believable vs Dave's version if he indeed was straight edge at the time... Dave himself has admitted that the band was on tons of drugs during that era, so...
@MaximusAdonicus don't get me wrong, dude. I completely believe that Dave was out of control and could have been in the wrong. Just puts these guys in a bad light to be playing the man's songs, getting paid for it, taking the only fame they have from it, and then airing out his drug problems at the time. It's embarrassing behavior. They could just as easily play the music, enjoy the minor fame, and say, "Yup, it was a crazy time. So here's another song Dave wrote"
@@RugsterClaps Well... This was an interview and the guy asked the questions, so he answered :D Plus Jeff spent just as much time talking about music in general and their new music, so... I thought it was very interesting hearing his side of the story and what went on at those times. And their new band has 50% ex-Megadeth members, so they can do as they please. Things like that has happened many times before with many bands ie. Paul Di'Anno, Al Atkins etc. touring and playing their past career's songs since that's the only thing people know them from. And Jeff did mention the royalties go to Megadeth since they play their songs. The only dubious thing in this interview was when Jeff said Dave is a pathological liar. That's a strong accusation. I assume he has evidence to back it up, otherwise it wouldn't have been wise to say it. I do wish he would've explained it...
@@MaximusAdonicus fair enough. If he was asked hes entitled to his answer. I just find the insults to reflect poorly on everyone involved and will hurt what they're doing more than anyone else. Dave will always do fine. They can say what they please obviously
So Far So Good is probably my favorite Megadeth album. Kings Of Thrash put on an incredible show that should not be missed!
Just saw Kings of Thrash in Minneapolis.... Jeff tore it up! Dude shreds! Non stop Thrash fest, go see the Kings of Thrash

My favorite Megadeth guitarist.
Thanks Jeff, now I need to go dig out the So Far, So Good, So What cd So I can refresh myself with your work!
Pioneer??? He played on one album!!! Hes a great guitare player but...
Yeah I would hesitate to use the word "pioneer," he played on literally only one well known album, and if it wasn't for that no one would know who he is. I don't mean that as a diss to him, it's just fact.
But all Megadeth does is rewrite riffs from that album.

I'd believe you if you told me it was Dave who ran out of heroin...

Jeff Young is a phenomenal guitarist and person.. Enjoyed listening to this interview.
IF Jeff was on Heroin and wanted to go home then of course Dave would of had to have cancelled the show's
Back then that's not what came out back in the day when he was fired. Other sources not Dave said Jeff was screwing days fiance.

I wouldn’t really hate pro tools but rather dislike the sound of super polished music. Check out vildhjarta masstedan under vatten!
Which CC song was that? Dave Lombardo for sure can play +200bpm 'cos he's done that in Slayer many times, lol!
