Trying my first attempt at bow hunting this year but it's really discouraging that I can't stay calm when I'm up 20+ feet in my stand. Anxiety kicks in over my fear of heights even though I know I'm safe with my harness on and my lifeline setup. Any tips for getting over heights related fears?
It’s pretty much just a mentality thing..like people that can’t hand rollercoasters need to remember they are buckled in. Same with a tree stand, if you have a harness, ur good. Just stay calm and control your breathing
Might want to also try standing up and putting your back against the tree. Might make you feel a little more secure. Other than that it’s all about your mindset
Hunt from the ground. I used to be that guy that would set my stands 25-30 feet up in the air. A friend of mine told me how much of an adrenaline rush it is to hunt from the ground and be at eye level with deer. I switched to hunting from the ground and plan on never looking back. 5 of my biggest bucks now were shot from the ground.
What is CRP field
