Thank you for showing your process with the hexes. I’m going to use your method on my grandmother’s flower garden quilt that I’m working on. Your videos are always so enjoyable Anna! Stay well.
I like the idea of the sponge pen to starch those fabric edges. Love the sound of the water and that music also. Must feel so good to get away to such a lovely spot.
Thank you for the Hexie video. Please do want showing how you get the papers out and when do you remove them and then stitching to the background. I have never tried hexies because I thought they were so complicated but you made this first part look like a breeze. Love the pictures of your camp site as they are just beautiful and so relaxing. Happy camping!

Hi Anna. I so love the videos you post and often have "reruns" playing on my TV in my craft room while I am sewing. I wanted to share with you the way I prepare my hexies. I use the Sue Daley method of English Paper Piecing. She uses a washable glue rather than the iron and starch. Two year's ago while on a 10 day vacation with family, I stitched hexies endlessly and it resulted in a version of Grandmother's Garden. I made the flowers and then used a blanket stitch and machine appliques them down to a background square. Just thought I would share. Thank you for all your posts!

I’m adding to my own comment. There are many different ways to make hexies, as you know, and I think I’ve done them all. Your papers with starch , the papers with glue, stitch with papers by stitching through the paper, stitch with papers by only stitching the fabric on the points, and the iron-on pre-cut hexies & glue method from Hugs ‘n Kisses, and also carried by fat quarter shop.com. My favorite has become papers and stitching only the fabric on the points because hexies can be popped out without removing any threads or un-sticking the starch or glue (none of which are actually difficult). Lovely scenery. So pleased you both got away. I've been asked to join a small stitching group meeting each month socially distancing in our village centre if all stays safe to do so. I’m also getting those weekly cotton and wool Halloween blocks! It’s all your fault! Lol. I’m loving the sound of that river.❤️
you made my day, lol...my superpower is working, LOL...yes, bathroom breaks are the biggest challenge hence traveling in Penny the van is a gift!!!
Quilt Roadies I guess I’ll have to invest in Depends. 😂
Thanks for the break from canning tomatoes. I almost dosed off listening to the river. Hope you did a lot of relaxing! 😎 See ya in the next one. 🙂
soooo relaxing
I loved listening to the stream while I cross stitched and watched you do hexies! I quilt, but I've never done hexies, so thank you for sharing! Enjoy your vacation get away! 🥰🤗🙏😷
Looks like a beautiful spot in the road!
It was so nice to go camping with you😊. I really enjoy making hexies so it was fun watching you making them too.
So happy for you and G to be able to have such a lovely vacation spot.
I use the SewTite magnets to hold the pieces to be sewn together and then my thread does not get caught on the clip. I love them!
Love this one on the hexies. Just bought my supplies earlier this year.. during quarantine. Have not started them yet, as I’ve gone back to work. 😕 this motivated me to get started. Just need to be out there where you are. 😚 must have that little hexies box!!
you are going to love it
How fun! Enjoy your time, I’m at the beach thinking of you. Wish I was in the mountains...
Thank you so much, I have always been afraid to try these . But you made it so relaxing and unstressful. I may give it a go.
I love to EPP and hand appliqué. I use the YLI silk thread. I get the tube with 5 different shades. It just disappears and makes it look like you are a really good stitcher!! LOL. I also lasts a long time. Glad you and G could get away for a well deserved camping trip and some hiking.
Exactly!
Great to see you! Always enjoy your journeys, Take Care
Good on you guys for getting out! See you next time.
Ohhhhh, that looks fun. I may need to give it a try 👍🏻
Lovely scenery. So pleased you both got away. I've been asked to join a small stitching group meeting each month socially distancing in our village centre if all stays safe to do so. I'm so excited having a chance to stitch with like-minded local ladies☺. I use YLI silk thread to stitch applique. Begun Gail Pan's 'Delightful Dresdens' to stitch while watching TV. Enjoy.
Gail is such a sweetie!
