I plan on doing my chores in the morning, quilt in the afternoons and counted cross stitch in the evening while watching TV. I really need to do this so I get projects done. I pulled out a bunch of quilting projects (some started) and some just kitted. They are now towering over my large dining room table. I still have a bunch more in a closet. The only way I hope to do them is if I see them every time I pass through the dining room. Since it's just my husband and me, we don't use the dining room table anymore. I really hope I can get this schedule in gear. I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, but this one is important. I'm 74 and have to get my butt in gear! Wish me luck!
I have watched you since 2019 when I decided to take up sewing. I am now 72 and you introduced me to Jen Kingwell for paper piecing and Sue Spargo for stitching and my fingers could not handle. So, I finally figured out thru Madam Sew the gadget that helps with keeping a 1/4" straight stitch. But I now love puff quilts. I would love your ideas for putting a queen size puff quilt together on a normal sewing machine. I have made 4 so far, Thank you for all of your videos!
Dear Anna, I’ve been absent for over a year. My husband of 58 years passed away in February…I’ve just not been motivated to do anything. You are inspiring me to make a change and get some stuff done, anything. Bless you. 🇦🇺❤️
‘The Dictionary of Lost Words’ sounds so very thought provoking, as is the story of your Father in Law being a typesetter. I appreciate your sharing this. You inspire me to rethink my quilting plans. I’ve never been a list maker or planner, but I think I need to start. I’ve always been afraid to gather all my quilt UFOs, but I need to make a plan of sorts to get older things finished and not just get excited by new. We’ll see how that works out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on organizing your projects! Happy New Year! 🎉
I remember those rabbit holes you sent me down years ago. Funny thing I am in the same spot you are. Love hand stitching although have 6 sewing machines, I still love hand stitching. Maybe because that's because my dad taught me to hand sew at 4yrs old. Supposedly the same age his mom taught him to start sewing on buttons.🥰☃️☃️☃️
So I love you too. And I love the idea of somewhat organizing my projects into designated days and keeping a journal of what’s what. So my start will be to cut and kit some of this fabric I’ve got and be ready to get some done. And maybe have a day every 3-4 weeks designated as a cut and kit day to keep things going and not spend so much time on a daily basis wondering what to do instead of doing! 😅 At least it’s a goal 😊, thanks Anna ❤. Have a great week and Happy New Year. 🎉
Anna, there are some wonderful quilt tracking planners available! Sherri McConnell has one, Lori Holt has one and Fat Quarter Shop carries several. One Canoe Two also has a couple I believe. Make it easier for yourself with a specific one! Love your RUclips videos!
Thanks for the shout out Anna but I was talking about the 3 books I bought about cross sitting organizing and planning, now you have me going down the rabbit hole looking for quilt planning journals. I used have a lined hard cover notebook that I used as a diary of the quilting I was doing. So if I took a workshop or lecture I would do a synopsis. I also tracked quilt shops that I visited. WIPS, Finished quilts I think was another category. But I do have to get my quilting life in order. We have a quilt show in May and I have one done and two more I’d like to do. I’m almost finished hand quilting one and the other needs some machine quilting and then both labels.
“Running around Willy Nilly” gives spice and variety but I can understand the wanting to be goal/project organized so that your able to get them done😃. Happy New Years to you G and your family 🎉
Last year, I got a white board and hung it inside my closet in my sewing room. I wrote down all my WIPs and also a list of new projects. I crossed them out as they were completed and I learned a lot from doing this. First, I learned that I had way too many WIPs and if they were too old or I wasn’t interested in finishing them, I passed them on to my quilt group. The same went for the new projects. I found that I finished all but one of my WIPs and most of my new projects. I just erased it and am starting fresh for the New Year. I’ve found that I have less WIPs (only 9) and less new projects (6) for this year. This has really worked well for me and I’m excited to get started on both WIPs and new projects. The only thing I will do different this coming year, is take a photo of my list at the beginning of the year and at the end of year to see my accomplishments! Welcome 2025 and Happy New Year to you and G, Anna!
I have been mulling over some ideas for my quilting life so this was good to watch. I pull my Cuppa kits out a few times a year but get so overwhelmed with the prospect of finishing. I was thinking I would pull four blocks out and get them ready to stitch and try to make it more full ow joy than obligation.
We are so much a like it’s scary. I’m not as organized as you but have the many started projects in quilting and wool embroidery. Love to watch your journals of which I’m good at starting but never finishing even them. So this year I’m making it a priority to get some projects finished!
The Dictionary of Lost Words is an excellent read! I read it a year ago and gifted it to my niece. It started a little slow, but the story is awesome! 🤩 What's that statue over your left shoulder? 🤔 I wish I could journal; I tried last year and failed miserably. 😂 I've cut strips for a string quilt and want to make an FPP woven star quilt too! Got the foundation pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. 🧵 Happy & Healthy New Year! 🎉 PS: I just finished reading The Hidden Thread by Liz Trenow which I recommend.
I have watched you since “the beginning”. You have taught me so many things and opened my mind to so many quilting options, sashiko, wool, embroidery, project bags, quilts, pillowcases and the list goes on. My husband knows your voice and we both love hearing you. You have broadened my horizons and I like you are “knee deep” in it. I have always had a list of completed projects, in process projects, projects I would like to do separated by style and so on…this month I threw the paper away. My mind processed the unfinished projects as failures (my brain). I feel a great weight was lifted. My projects are kitted so all I have to do is pull one off the shelf. All that tracking took up too much mental space. Your ufo’s, almost completed projects are stunning. Remember your very large tree cross stitch? Perhaps you can do that with your quilting, a dedicated quilt. I was surprised how quickly you completed that and so worth the effort.
My dad was a type setter and did a lot of work for the state of Michigan. I think I’m going to do the same thing that you suggested taking a day for wool, a day for embroidery a day for paper piecing, quilting etc. that sounds like a workable plan. Sounds good anyway. My grands have my book full for next year Christmas gifts already 😂 thank you for the visit and happy new year
I lived 3 and a half years in Panama. My husband was stationed there and my oldest daughter was born there. The canal at night is beautiful all lit up. Happy quilting & stitching ✂️🧵🪡❤️
My goal is to adapt your designated stitch idea to quilting. Going to make a checkerboard quilt using a common background strip and add scrap squares across the whole strip. . Plan to do one a day using scraps already cut and goodness knows I have oodles of them. Each strip will be cut between scraps and made into large blocks which will make putting them together easier. Love these quilts and it will be fun for me. Thank you for all the videos you make.
Spargo’s Home Grown was one of my Covid epidemic projects. That was the best time to work on it!! I didn’t use a kit, I used a heavy linen for the backgrounds and wool and fabrics from my stash for the houses, trees, etc. I LOVED the project and I LOVE my quilt.
Thanks, Anna! I'm looking forward to your finish of the Heirloom Rose, and the Blue Escape Quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts (you didn't show this one, but I'd love to see your finish of it). Here's to the hopes and journeys of 2025!
Because of you I want to quilt. Hopefully 2025 will be the year I start. Thank you Anna for all your wonderful videos. God bless you and your family in the upcoming year. ❤
Brain farts are the only reminder I even have a brain🤦🏻♀️ I think I may need to invest in a project planner. Looking forward to sharing 2025 with you! Love all of your beautiful WIP’S. Happy New Year🎉
Thank you Anna for a year of your lovely company and inspiration. I love my journal it keeps me organised and I love looking back through the year, I have sections for my book, garden, hand stitching gifts and of course my quilting. Wishing you all the best for 2925. X
Anna, I can totally identify with you! I'm an extremely disorganized goal oriented person. Good intentions but not a lot of actions. I really like your idea about a journal too. I need to do something to "unbury" myself from under all my WIPs and UFOs.
I have a project journal and a quilt journal and I did so well at the beginning of my sewing journey. What seems to work better for me at this time since I’m so busy in all directions is scheduling it on my phone calendar. I put when I want it completed and then work backwards to set work times and what to do on that particular day.
LOL....I'll get you those new quilting inserts in the mail after the weekend . I'm off to Kentucky to have my second holiday with the 9 great nieces and nephews and their parents. I have January 8th on my calendar and I'm so serious I have taken the day off from work so I can snag my preferred classes at QA. All the evening programs look awesome because of the 50th anniversary! SUPER excited. Fun Fun Fun. Hugs from NE Ohio.
Thank you for the wonderful visit. I love seeing the projects you have in the works, especially the ones that are from a while ago. It makes me feel better about letting myself “run willy nilly.”😮 I am planning to work on having a designated wool stitch project on the ready so I can get more done. I’ve seen how it has helped you complete more things over on Stitch Roadies. I think we can make 2025 a year of completing our “old friends” who have been waiting patiently for a little attention!😊
This was fun! It also made me feel not so bad about all the UFO’s I have, often partially done ( maybe more than you!). I have the sewing room pattern and thank you for the reminder that I have a Welcome wool stitch kit with the monthly circular stitch that you swap out each month, which I’ll gather and begin this coming week! Happy New Year, Anna & G!
Poor Anna, just not enough days in the week for you are there, I think you need a nine day week at least so you can allocate projects. My tongue is firmly planted n my cheek as I write this. Best wishes. Ros 🇦🇺
I sew on a regular basis with one group usually monthly. I noticed there was one person at my table who brought the same thing every month. I started doing the same thing. No decisions when packing. And I started to knock off a long term project.
You are so amazing and put together. I know you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the amount of projects you have. You were a nurse - I think you need to have every single one of those projects to keep your mind active. It is good for you to have choices. You are very organized- a lot of us would not have our quilts “kitted”. Remember you don’t have to have a separate journal for each type of project. You can have a journal for all of it- you just need lots of stars!!🌟 Looking forward to your word and color for the new year!!
Thank you Anna. You are getting very organised there. I find if i tidy up my projects too well i forget about them. 😂 I should get a book of days like you to keep track. Have you checked out Just Get it Done Quilts for the New Year cleaning? I am going to try tostick with it this year.
Merry Christmas and joyous New Year! I so enjoy the opportunities you encourage. I have a Sue Spargle ocean theme I have been working through… 2025 might be the year to complete it. ❤
Anna you are right. I must get things in order. I have been trying to use up scraps given to me by well intentioned people. Next year I am going to work on the wonderful patterns in my stash. If the scraps fit in fine. If not I will move forward. Thanks for giving me permission to do so.
Yes! the time of year to re-evaluate. I am hoping to do that in the next couple of weeks. Too much else going on this week :) Every time you show 'Heirloom Rose' it makes me so happy - such a beautiful quilt. I love color! but there is something about that particular monochrome palette that is so gorgeous.
I, too, do better when I have a goal. But, there are so many squirrels in my room (aka "The Cave"). What does one do with all the squirrels? They are so darn cute. Gig from California
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! I only just found your RUclips channel this past fall & look forward to the coming year of sewing, hand embroidery, wool appliqué, quilting and especially quilt shop road trips.
Looking forward to signing up for your Sit and Stitch at Quilter's Affair. It's going to be hard to decide what other classes to take. I'm quite intrigued by the mystery classes. I'm sure the instructors and projects will be great. I also like the fact that they are kits so I don't have to do much prep and bring as many supplies with me on the road.
Dear Anna, I've seen your Apple quilt on your videos. Wow! The Sashiko is beautiful! I completed a double jelly fish a couple years ago, but have yet to frame it. Take care. Happy New Year! Marion in Gresham
Thank you so much for inspiring me to take up quilting or at least try to start. I love your big storage containers with the latched lid. Where do you find that size please ma’am
Happy almost New Year Anna. 🎉. I just enjoyed a movie on Netflix and thought you might enjoy it too so I’m sending my recommendation. It is called ‘The Storied Life of A .J. Fikrey’.
I know just what you’re saying I have the same thoughts, I have the same plan this year to have a planner for my quilts and get time set to do small things like make binding ready , use my embroidery on some days. Anyway good luck!
I have been addicted to watching you for a long long time…then your quilt roadies videos changed to more cross stitch.lucky for me I saved quite a lot of your videos on wool and quilting just for me to watch again and again.although I love the way cross stitching looks…I m not going there not just now so …sew..I will definitely save this video just for me…in hopes that you will do more of demos and wool projects and piecing?I will continue to make and watch QUILT ROADIES BUT…will always save the ones that are instructional…cause learning is also my addition, even if it’s repeated.👩🏻🎨🐑..ANGORAACRES💕
Hello Anna! If I remember correctly, didn’t you have a wall hanging of circles from Sue Spargo? Did you finish it and if so when? I would like to rewatch that episode of Quilt Roadies as I loved that idea and yours was way cool. I remember seeing you work on it in your little house in Arizona. Happy New Year to you and G! 🎉
Anna, enjoy your show. Do you have the pattern for the Christmas tree wall hanging behind you? I love it. I'm a Christmas nut. Thx, I keep looking. ? Happy New Year.
This episode triggers stitching goals for 2025, which I really appreciate! This dark & rainy afternoon is a perfect time to make a plan/list. And what is your “word” for this year Anna???
Thank you Anna, you just got me on track. I too have had a three week hiatus. Was so tickled to see the rose quilt. I fell in love with that quilt the first time you showed it in a video, haven't seen it for a time and was concerned you had finished it and I had missed it. I too am an disorganized- organized stitcher. I get overwhelmed by to many " I want to's" You have a way of calmly relating your journey and it encourages me. I hope this year is a year of getting to completion, some of my projects. Not all, but I need to make a. large dent. Our holidays aren't over til Ephaniy so am targeting 7 January. Look forward to watching as you complete each project.
I plan on doing my chores in the morning, quilt in the afternoons and counted cross stitch in the evening while watching TV. I really need to do this so I get projects done. Anna those bird blocks are beautiful.

I love that idea🎉❤️
You are such a remarkable person. I truly enjoy both your quilting and cross stitching. I thought I was unorganized..I am truly just like you.

Happy Boxing Day 🎉 I Love the coral reef ❤

You are my people! 🤪 I am so excited to get started on the new year too! I also took a photo!
Sometimes I think about reconfiguring my blocks🧐
You are organizing a plan for 2025, and maybe into 2026 with all those wonderful quilts. Many blessings for a wonderful new year.
Pretty quilt blocks I also love birds.
We are so much a like it’s scary. I’m not as organized as you but have the many started projects in quilting and wool embroidery. Love to watch your journals of which I’m good at starting but never finishing even them. So this year I’m making it a priority to get some projects finished!
Starting is a hobby by itself😂
Anna, my plans to attend my first Sisters event are coming together with friends. We rented a house in Bend. Thank you for the encouragement.
So glad to hear you will be there! It will be amazing! Can’t wait to meet up!!
I love it!
Oooohhhh dedicated quilt….a thought❤️
I do try to feel better about my projects after watching you.
Have let myself run Willy Nilly too!! I don’t think a journal will work for me. But I gotta try something.
I like to give everything a fair try😂
Best day after Christmas...spending time on quilt roadies with Anna. Have a happy, healthy and blessed New Year 🎉
My dad was a type setter and did a lot of work for the state of Michigan.
I think I’m going to do the same thing that you suggested taking a day for wool, a day for embroidery a day for paper piecing, quilting etc. that sounds like a workable plan. Sounds good anyway. My grands have my book full for next year Christmas gifts already 😂 thank you for the visit and happy new year
Let’s keep rocking the quilting ❤️🎉
I was hoping you would go back to quilting with fabric soon. I can no longer do any handwork and I miss your quilting videos.
I do it all❤️🎉
Spargo’s Home Grown was one of my Covid epidemic projects. That was the best time to work on it!! I didn’t use a kit, I used a heavy linen for the backgrounds and wool and fabrics from my stash for the houses, trees, etc. I LOVED the project and I LOVE my quilt.
The best time for anything is when we are at home with our fabrics❤️ and with a Sue project❤️
Thank you so much❤️
I live about an hour away from primitive gathering and would love to see you.
Sweet!!!🎉❤️
Your handwork is wonderful.
Great quilt projects.
The cup quilt is cute.
The Flight quilt is going to be gorgeous!
The blocks are already beautiful.

Brain farts are the only reminder I even have a brain🤦🏻♀️ I think I may need to invest in a project planner. Looking forward to sharing 2025 with you! Love all of your beautiful WIP’S. Happy New Year🎉
Happy New Year to you too🎉
Thank you Anna for a year of your lovely company and inspiration.
It is so nice to be surrounded by like minded people who can commiserate!😂❤️😂
Anna, you never fail to leave me with your stories!!! Then there is the projects that you are working on that is just amazing. Take care!! :)
I have a project journal and a quilt journal and I did so well at the beginning of my sewing journey.

You got that right! 😂5 week month!
I enjoyed this video. I look forward to completing some of my quilting and stitching projects along with you this year.😊🧡💛
Merry Christmas; Happy New Year. Lots of good advice to keep moving forward with the crafts we love. Thank You.
I sew on a regular basis with one group usually monthly. I noticed there was one person at my table who brought the same thing every month. I started doing the same thing. No decisions when packing. And I started to knock off a long term project.
It is a great way to keep moving forward! 🎉❤️
All of my Christmas decorations are coming down this weekend. I've been thinking about you and am glad for the visit.
I love seeing all your projects! You inspire me! Happy New Year. Barb
You are so amazing and put together.
I know you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the amount of projects you have. You were a nurse - I think you need to have every single one of those projects to keep your mind active. It is good for you to have choices.
You are very organized- a lot of us would not have our quilts “kitted”.

I love cotton and sashico... please do a tute when the camera comes in if able :)
Thank you
Bliss to look through WIPs and choose what I want to finish depending on my mood not on a project with a time frame! Happy New Year Anna and G 😊
Anna you are right. I must get things in order. I have been trying to use up scraps given to me by well intentioned people. Next year I am going to work on the wonderful patterns in my stash. If the scraps fit in fine. If not I will move forward. Thanks for giving me permission to do so.
So freeing isn’t it!!
Yes! the time of year to re-evaluate. I am hoping to do that in the next couple of weeks. Too much else going on this week :)
Every time you show 'Heirloom Rose' it makes me so happy - such a beautiful quilt. I love color! but there is something about that particular monochrome palette that is so gorgeous.
It's so simple, yet so beautiful…I am smitten with it❤️ one of my favorites
😊thanks, Anna..love seeing all your projects.
Thank you for inspiring me. I have many UFOs too. I will be pulling them out and giving them some love!
You’re gonna love seeing them come to life! ❤️🎉❤️
I'm so glad you found me! The road trips are just getting started❤️ and lots of quilting!
I’m on a waitlist for the glass fusing🙏
Love all your quilts you have to work on. Happy New Year. You are priceless.
Thank you for joining my quilt parade! 🪡❤️
Dear Anna,
I've seen your Apple quilt on your videos. Wow! The Sashiko is beautiful! I completed a double jelly fish a couple years ago, but have yet to frame it. Take care. Happy New Year! Marion in Gresham
Maybe a pillow??❤️❤️
Iove it when you share your beautiful UFOs because they are marvelous I can't wait to get started with a wool project.
Wool is so much fun!
Good advice for 2025 🥰 I always enjoy looking at all of your projects and hearing about the books you are enjoying. Happy New Year ❤️
Thank you for stitching with me ❤️
Anna, I love all your projects. Have fun in 2025 getting them accomplished. Happy New Year.
Thank you for the well wishes! I am looking forward to them too❤️🙏❤️
Sashiko tutorial would be awesome! ❤❤❤❤
Will do soon🧐
Thank you so much for inspiring me to take up quilting or at least try to start. I love your big storage containers with the latched lid. Where do you find that size please ma’am
There are piles of them at JoAnns❤️
Happy almost New Year Anna. 🎉. I just enjoyed a movie on Netflix and thought you might enjoy it too so I’m sending my recommendation. It is called ‘The Storied Life of A .J. Fikrey’.
I know just what you’re saying I have the same thoughts, I have the same plan this year to have a planner for my quilts and get time set to do small things like make binding ready , use my embroidery on some days. Anyway good luck!
It already is feeling good🙏
Anna who is the quilting doctor ? Is he on u-tube?
On instagram 😊❤️
I so enjoy watching your shows! Where do you store all your boxes? I’m in desperate need of need of more organized stii out rage!
There is a closet with shelves built in so they are stacked in there☺️
I have been addicted to watching you for a long long time…then your quilt roadies videos changed to more cross stitch.lucky for me I saved quite a lot of your videos on wool and quilting just for me to watch again and again.although I love the way cross stitching looks…I m not going there not just now so …sew..I will definitely save this video just for me…in hopes that you will do more of demos and wool projects and piecing?I will continue to make and watch QUILT ROADIES BUT…will always save the ones that are instructional…cause learning is also my addition, even if it’s repeated.👩🏻🎨🐑..ANGORAACRES💕
Stitch roadies is a separate channel than quilt roadies so we’ll meet here❤️
Good luck with all your projects. What are you doing on New Years Eve? Do you stay up?
I don’t think I have stayed up in years😂😂😂
My word for 2025 is complete
❤️🎉❤️
Yes I do! And no I haven’t 😊
Anna, enjoy your show. Do you have the pattern for the Christmas tree wall hanging behind you? I love it. I'm a Christmas nut. Thx, I keep looking. ? Happy New Year.
It is a pattern by Edyta Sitar. She has a website 😍
This episode triggers stitching goals for 2025, which I really appreciate! This dark & rainy afternoon is a perfect time to make a plan/list. And what is your “word” for this year Anna???
Resilience ❤️
Have a great year Anna. Missmisty8
It’s going to be a great year to get stitching!!❤️🎉❤️
Hi Auntie Anna! It's Will Will!
Will Will, it's so good to see you❤️ love seeing you here!! Check out my Stitchroadie channel too❤️🎉
@ Awesome! I miss you and hope I can see you soon!
Tell your mom you need a visit to Oregon❤️
I want to attend the Sister's Outdoor Quilt show this year. Are there any travel tours from Portland airport that you can recommend?
I know there are because I see tour buses but I personally don’t know their names🙏
To get it all in maybe a morning 6 hours od Sashi o abs an afternoon of EPP. Etc.
Is the SueSpargo quilt wool appliqué? If not, what is the fabric? Thanks!
It is a combination of wool and cotton❤️
Just wondering, how do you quilt a sashiko quilt? I'd like to try making one.
I prefer to not quilt over the Sashiko stitching, each one is different❤️
Anna ? What pattern is that Xmas tree quilt behind you on the wall ?
It is by Edyta Sitar❤️
Do you have a link to the project journal?
