    Tony Macalpine, is a God of music, with a capacity that very few humans have, I understand that we are popular, but does not mean that anyone is less about money and marketing. I would love to follow the path industry from countries like Finland and Germany that give the musician a position of respect and popularity actual. I feel that justice has been done in music to a man who contributed so much to the world.

    Just added going to see him play live to my bucket list! I remember this guy back in the day. It used to be the running question between who was better between him and Howe. The 2 people that gave him a thumbs down should have there fingers snipped at the first knuckle and never even be aloud to look at another guitar again.

    Arpeggio:
    It's when you play the individual notes of a chord in sequence; either ascending of descending through the scale that the chord comes from. Arpeggio can be translated as, "to play a harp" or it can be translated as, "broken chord".
    As you can hear, Arpeggi are very bright, ambient resonating tonal "phrases" that really pack a punch & capture an audience's attention. They are dynamic & give the player the ability to sculpt virtually any sound they want. Arpeggi inspire creativity.

    Thanks for posting this video! If you are watching close, this video is a freakin McAlpine Gold mine of info and learning right here! I always said whenever I need a new Musical direction, or Ideas on how to really open up my playing, I just pop in a TJM record and always always hear something new and cool in ANY of his recordings The guy just manages to incorporate so many musical colors into a single song and gets away with it. Thing of beauty! Cheers, IC.

    yeah not many "people" know about him. i understand the ordinary non musician streaming through youtube and sees him playing awesome licks and thinks "oh hes good but i havent heard of him so he cant be great." WRONG. Tony is known by a large community of neo classical guitarist and shredders he even plays with Vai.

  • @Krashulka
    @Krashulka 6 лет назад +1

    I remember years back seeing a blues festival in America, heaps of great talent there . Vai and Mcalpine did a tune, Tony on the keyboard and guitar ... Tony smoked Vai imo :D . Love them both as great players, Gilbert , Satch and all the rest too . But Tony is crystal clear and very melodic with some great stuff , and good on all instruments since a kid :D . cheers

    Why does every1 bash Kirk H? It's not his fault that Metallica is what it is, he's definitely not Tony, or Greg Howe or Per Nilsson or Loomis, but he does all that Hetfield will allow him to do. Give the guy a break! Ever heard of "right place, right time"? BTW he is a pretty humble guy and will not say that he is better than anyone, despite his success.
    Tony is a musical GOD, have you heard his latest callabo with Jeff Loomis? Let's just say his skill is still very high.

    Cuz their mate's, he's having a lot of fun doing it, making more money than if he was touring solo, and still getting a lot of the lime light. I know what your saying, he's truely godly, one of my alltime faves. But there's nothing wrong with being Vai's right hand man. Take his last one, Kaneally. He too was absolutely incredible. When i went to see them in Manchester, he did a guitar solo, comprising of only using his little finger. I was like W T F?????
