We have Husqvarna. We might be able to get it started, but it won’t run unless the choke is wide open. Thank you for this video. We were told it couldn’t be fixed.
Overall good troubleshooting. However, with all the bad fuel lines, I would have also replaced the purge bulb. That will be the next likely fuel item to need replacing. Cheap and easy to get to.
The main thing I took away from this is your excitement for your hemostat lol. Great when we find that tool that makes projects easier. And we want to share. I'll be getting one soon lol
I ended up replacing carb and the fuel lines. I am now using the Husqvarna 95 octane fuel. Works great. I was using regular gas and mixing the oil. I think it hurt the engine. Replacing all of that was worth the money.
Working on a neglected trimmer that had stale fuel in it for ages. I've replaced the fuel lines and filter, as well as the carburettor. I've gapped the spark plug and tested it for spark, and I've put fresh fuel in with the correct fuel to oil ratio. The thing will not start. It's practically brand new. I think my dad must have run it on straight petrol and worn out the engine.
Fuel lines of the old Husky 223L I was given fell apart too, carb covered in old sticky fuel. Mine had rubber grommets for fuel lines to and from tank crumbled too. Old fuel, age and Texas heat no doubt. Thank you, your explanations and great video super helpful! It would help to know what you listening for as adjust carb
Highest idle speed on the low side adjustment and same on the high side but after I get the highest speed on the high side I open the screw about 1/4 turn (counter clockwise) so it runs a little on the rich side to lubricate the cylinder... I have a video on how to adjust properly
Use only ethanol free gas on any engine with a carburetor. First the alcohol with draw moisture into the fuel and second alcohol attacks all the plastic and rubber parts. I have a husky 128ld 16 years now with original carb and fuel lines. In fact the cylinder and piston are wore out, going to replace them and keep on keeping on.
Need to take the carb apart and clean it no telling how long it ran without the fuel filter might have trash in the screen before putting the carb back on but that's just me. It was a great video
I'd have taken the carb apart as well. I like his videos but sometimes it seems like he cuts corners? Other than that he does good videos and great work on fixing equipment
Bro, I have the same model and I could tell you I had it over 10 years and I use it at least once a week and it’s still going if it ever blows its death worth rebuilding
i'm here after replacing the RCJ8Y spark plug to get my 128LD up and running again for this year. worked great yesterday. today, it won't even start. it's baffling.
I have a Homelite brush cutter from 1985. It ran great for 20 yrs. Then I put it in storage for 19 yrs. Question: I can't seem to find a fuel filter like the one that was in mine which is similar to the ceramic ones I'm seeing for sale today except that mine has a mesh it. Will these ceramic kind work in my Homelite?
I have a 128LD, I have replaced, the carb (twice) and gasket, plug, coil, air filter, fuel lines, fuel filter and, it still won't start or run. Was running great until a month ago.
Have you looked at the piston and cylinder wall and checked if they are scored? There should not be any vertical scratches or scoring. If there is your engine is damaged and will not start or if it does it will run terrible
My son put the wrong mix in the fuel tank for this exact trimmer. Would you recommend cleaning or replacing the tank? It was never ran with incorrect fuel, I caught it before he got a chance.
Just drain out the bad fuel from the tank and refill it with the correct mix Of two cycle oil and gas. You are wise not to have run it with the wrong fuel in it… Especially when somebody puts straight gas in a two cycle engine… It will ruin the engine. Keep up the good work!
if you mean how to get it out of the carburetor... after you removed the fuel from the tank (take the cap off and dump it out) you can press the primer bulb and that will run the old fuel out of the carb and pull in the new fuel that is properly mixed. that little bit won't hurt anything.
Good running machine then split primer bulb replaced while doing so i split the return line replaced now wont run at all i have spark and fuel and im about ready to smash this thing first ill try starting with a drill
It could be… If you took the adjustment screws out when you clean the carburetor… Screw the High and low screw all the way in and then turn them out 1-1/4 turn and start there. Make sure you have spark. Start simple and work your way from there. Let us know what you find out
No start… Smell gas… Air filter gets wet with gas… If you take the spark plug out it will be soaked in gas. The way to get it started without doing too much is pull it full throttle with the choke on and it may start otherwise you can pull the spark plug out and dry it and put it back in
Without being able to look at it… If you have spark my guess would be a fuel problem. I have one like this and it also wouldn't start last year. I am not a fan of this machine. In my opinion it is way too powerful as a weed whacker. If I get it too close to my vinyl siding it will tear the crap out of it. I know people will say, "well, don't let it get close". Sometimes it isn't that easy. So, I just gave up on it and I will get a cheap electric on.

you mind if I ask, why you dont put 2T oil in your fuel?
10:32 50:1 Gas + 2T oil is mixed in fuel tank already. Husqvarna 2T oil gives the mixed fuel a bluish color. Pure Gasoline (petrol) is colorless.

HOW COME MY 128LD HAVE NEW CARB KIT N STILL WONT STAY ON ??
if there's a dip stick somewhere on your engine do not use oil in your gas because its a 4 stroke
Its 2 stroke not 4
This is a 2
You can have an oil system on a 2 stroke... Lots of snowmobiles, lawnmowers and other 2 stroke engines have oil systems.
There are also 4 cycle weed eaters and other lawn equipment
This isn't a 4 stroke
How would u unclogged the fuel line
Beautiful, dude!

Where can you get these fuel lines? Abd what size was yours?
You can buy a variety pack of fuel lines for a little over five dollars on eBay that should take care of most all your 2 cycle small engine equipment
What size are the fuel lines?
