About time someone did a no-nonsense video that was clear, concise and to the point. The video was easy to follow with sharp images and graphics. It covered all pertinent aspects and in an expedited manner. There was no obvious or hidden agenda to sell or advertise.
Others who provide videos could take a lesson from your structured presentation. My compliments!
I’m so grateful for your kind comment and happy you enjoyed the vid!
What I don't understand is why mine ran great one day, then three or fours days later when I went to use it, it had this problem. No warning. Nothing. No graduall loss of power or any indication that there was a problem.
I agree. This video is exactly what your comment on it reflects. Well said.
Great video. Straight to the point without telling the life story of the weed eater. Simple, well described instructions on exactly how to adjust the carb in under 5 minutes. With great help like this, I'm another one that spent 5 minutes adjusting and got the weed eater running like new again. Thank you so much!!
My pleasure, Ben! Happy it helped!
I had a Weedeater hedge trimmer and a Homelite blower that I was ready to replace. Both having barely run for a couple of years. I happened across your RUclips and watched it twice. I ordered the kit and it was on my porch when I got up the next morning (thank you Amazon). Five minutes at most and they are both running like new. I couldn't believe it. You stopped the aggravation and saved me lots of money. You're the man. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for sharing, P! Wishing you an amazing growing season this year 👍 Thanks so much for supporting the channel!
Couldn't agree more. Same-same.
Thanks! I have the same machine so ordered the tool. While I wait for it, I took out the air filter housing and sprayed carb cleaner all in there and now runs like new.
Very nice!
Ive had my Husqvarna for at least 4 years and never am issue, only the other day did it bog thus why i checked RUclips. Good video, info and to the point.
Thanks, Ron!
Thank you sir, as some one with zero engine experience I was able to adjust my weed eater and get it going again. TY! Subscribed! Side note: you fixed the next issue I was going to look up the spinning head on it's own Lol bonus for free!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your help. I just got that kit and fixed my weed eater in 30 seconds. 🙏👍
Awesome! Happy it helped!
Hey thanks for the tip on that I really appreciate it everyone else was saying to change the carburetor😂 it’s running great again
I’m grateful it helped you. Thanks for watching!
Spot on buddy, had the problem on the 525L not the same but I just found the adjustment screws and mine had regular slot screws- adjusted them and worked like a charm! I am glad your vid was first one that popped up saved me the hastle of weeding out the crap!😊
Thanks, Michael! Happy it worked for you.
Best video I've seen for Husky carb adjustment. Good job !
Thank you!!
Thanks for the vid. Very informative. I will also add just go ahead and save yourself the trouble and buy that tool kit. I went to five different stores looking for the tool kit and NO ONE had it. Ordered off Amazon and it came the next day
For sure! And it’s come in handy many times over.
Thanks for the video. Im lucky. Replaced the carb, fuel lines, filter, plug. Use the Husqvarna 95 octane canned fuel. Everything works perfect. I was mixing my own fuel using 89 octane. Not such a good idea. Now I run the trimmer dry before winter. This trimmer is a great machine. If it wasn't I would have purchased an EGO.
Awesome!
Well, you sure made that look easy, hope mine adjusts that easy when I try today lol. Thanks for taking the time and sharing.
Good luck and thanks for watching!
Wow, tgank you gor this video. I had hyst purchased this last summer, didnt have it for one month and the pull card stuck. I did fix that by tsking the pulley apart and lubing and turning the axle and put in fresh husqvana gas mix in, perfect. Then the idle kept cutting off when i put to choke off, even after tight the top screw. I will adhust the lower one next, didnt try that. First thing in the morning vefore my edging the lawn project start. This was very helpful and informative. Everyone else video just talk about it. Show me the parts are and i understand and that is just what you did, gave the specifics hands on. 5 stars
Thank you!!
Helpful, simple, time considerate and you included the link (bonus for it being at the very top) for the item you used in the video. A+
Liked and now I subscribed!
Thank you for that quick informative video
Thank you for watching!
I'm about to make this adjustment on a friend's trimmer. Exact same model, also bought about a year ago. It was stalling on idle once warmed up. Fixed that, but now bogs when throttle is feathered. This procedure ought to fix that issue
Let us know how it goes!
Looking forward to idle adjustment tomorrow
Thanks for watching!
Turn the idle screw "counter" clockwise to slow the head down. Turning it clockwise speeds it up.
On Husqvarna it says you can't buy the tool to adjust the carburetor from them something about the EPA or government regulations have to carry it to a dealer. Just another way to try and get more money from us. Will be ordering one of those tool sets you showed. Thanks for the video and that info.
Interesting. “We are the government, we are here to help.” 🤣
Thanks for getting to the point. 💯 Respect. I will try this tomorrow.
My pleasure!
My pleasure!
You just saved me a trip to the shop and $$. Thank you 😁
Awesome! Happy it helped!
Great video saved me a lot of money. What’s the right carb adjustment screw for?
Thx! Sucks they don't send those "Special Tools" along with a $200 item, But this is So Helpful. Thanks Man, have an awesome Summer!! - Bill
Thank you for the kind words, Bill! Enjoy your summer as well!
Yes I have to adjust almost after every use… it was frustrating but I’m used to working on it I’m not gonna spend more money to have someone fix it or buy a new one…
Life saver, thanks step by step .
Thank you for watching!
Thanks, Man. I did not know what, that Screw Head Was For. I looked at it about, 5 times & couldn’t figure it out🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy it helped!
A 1 love you for this info, always waiting on a man to fix my stuff.. yep not.... your the man today, I got this... thank you.
Subscribed going to fix my own now.
Thank you!!
Hell yeah, yo video was the shyt! Everyone else acts like the need a hug and sum mo shyt, thank you!
Great video. RUclips to the rescue again!
Thanks!
If i adjusted all three and it doesn’t seem to wanna stay running to adjust where do i start to get all three back in normal running adjustment
Trial and error is the only way unless you remember the positions before you started. Patience is key.
If the adjustments aren’t working then it is likely your spark suppressor is clogged, or you may need to clean your carb. Hope this helps.

@blackholediy has a lot of great content regarding small motors too. I’ll put out more this season as well.
@@LKNDIY i just did all the maintenance change carb fuel lines and spark plug new gas. I can get it running sometimes
How about the spark arrester?
Great video but my Weedwhacker bogs down when I get into heavy grass it didn’t used to do that. What would cause that? Thank you, sir.
Could simply be strain on the motor or you could try cleaning your spark arrester.
Fantastic video
Thank you!
Seems like on my 330 i adjusted the idle going counter clockwise. The more I tried clockwise it really started spinning.
Could be it is the inverse on your model?
@@LKNDIY the fuel filter was a breeze. Waited till it almost needed refueling. Shook it into place then snagged it with a bent clothes hanger!
@@LKNDIY yeah it could be also this model has just been recalled for faulty wiring causing arching & or igniting the fuel 😃. 11 known reports of injuries so far
That’s crazy. I’m guessing this is why they are moving away from small motors.
Well done Sir!
Thank you!
enjoyed the video, very helpful
Thanks, Benny!
Dude thanks for this vid I almost threw this thing in the trash
I’m happy it helped!
Are all fuel filters in the gas tanks on huskys? Have a replacement in a tune up kit. I guess it's best to do when empty.
Yes, at the end of the fuel intake line in the tank. I probably need to change mine too 👍
Thank you nice video no baloney straight facts thank you
Thanks for watching, James!
My idle adjust screw doesn't seem to do anything. When i take the cover off to look at it, the bottom of the screw doesnt touch anything. Any thoughts on that?
I’m unsure. I know who would know though, Black Hole DIY. Guy is a small engine wizard. Check out his channel and ask him, great resource. 👍
@LKNDIY It was a stupid error by me. I had the choke at half way. Thank you for the response!
Thank you worked for me
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Well I got mine all screwed up any tips on starting out with both screwed shut I can’t even get it to idol with the choke off
This video will be helpful: ruclips.net/video/HquG1U1_uLk/видео.htmlsi=JCxn18SLzKyUlUba
Thanks. What is the left compared to the right? I have adjusted mine before now it will bog down even at idle. I need to get it adjusted again.
Hi JJ, the right side is the ‘high’ side and adjusting it may help your idle problem. Start by turning slightly clockwise 🔁 and work from there.
@@LKNDIY Thanks. Whatever I did last time seem to work for a couple uses and then started bogging out again. It was never adjusted right from the factory
@@JJ4848 that’s a bummer. My next trimmer will either be electric or a Sthil
@@LKNDIY Just replaced my echo blower with a Stihl. Was actually cheaper and so far runs great. With the electric technology now I’ll probably go to an electric Weedwhacker too.
Hi JJ, how is the electric Stihl holding up?
What if your adjustment screws are way off. Is there a starting point? As in turn the (L) screw clockwise until it stops then start adjusting 1/8 turn counterclockwise and for the (R) screw (rich/lean?) Turn all the way clockwise until it stops then adjust until?what. Also what you called the idle screw, that simply adjust the choke limit, correct?
I have a 2004 model of the one in your video. I know very little of engines and motors, especially carburetors and have watched many videos trying to DIY the problem. All of them, except yours were missing important information. Yours was the most complete. I look forward to your answers. Cheers Jonathan Storlie
I also tried the manual online and the manufacturer's website, those both were a waste of time. Just a side note.
It really is a game of feel. It also may be the carb needs cleaning. I’ll likely clean mine this year and film it for you all 👍
What something else you could use if you don’t have that kit ?
You can try a small screw driver, but you may damage the screw
Thank you for the video.!
Thank you!
As stated, below, great job! So much so could you post how to change the fuel lines on the 128LD (or others). I struggle to change these and they seem to leak or come apart after I do. Thanks, JoAnne
When I change mine I will surely document it 👍🏼
When you do get those lines changed try to remember to add stabil-marine to your mixed gas or use premixed gas (the stuff you find on the shelf) the ethanol in gas damages the fuel line rapidly.
The stabil-marine or similar additives has an ingredient that protects the hoses and rubber parts
Is the adjustments you showed was they high and low
Low side. Thanks for watching!
Thank You so much ❤
You’re welcome!!
What do you do if it starts up runs for a second and then dies?
It’s likely your idle that is maladjusted. Adjust the idle screw to find the right spot.
Nice job!
Thanks, Nina!
@@LKNDIYAre you interested in testing our parts?I can give you some free products.
I have same model however my trimmer is way out of adjustment to include the high adj. Any suggestions because this doesn't seem to work like others. i have tried to turn both to the right till stop then back off 1 and Qtr. turns for a starting point but i can't get it to idle or start Unless it is in a choke pos. As soon as that choke is flipped to the right and off it shuts right down. sometimes half choke. frustrating.. Any suggestions very welcome and appreciated.
Hi Roger, have you tried adjusting the idle screw at the top?
@@LKNDIY yeah.... Just gonna start from scratch today and take it slow. Think my frustration got the best of me and clouded my execution.
Sounds like you need to replace the carb
@@rogerbrooks1042you need a new carb
Thanks😅
GREAT vid you shud get some $ n from the tool supplier cant do it without it
Thanks so much! Happy you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this video, it helped me get my weedeater running again, and fine tune it as well.
The only issue is that the head is still spinning, and tightening the screw only seemed to make it go faster. Any advice on that?
Hi Dirk, I would try backing it out to slow the head down. Unsure why it would speed up going that direction. Sounds like the screw may not be cutting fuel while tightening which means there is a deeper issue.
Appreciated bro thanks.👍
Thank you!
Does bogging down mean the mixture is rich or lean?
Not usually unless it is really rich
What if your the trimmer runs and idles but whenever you give it true m throttle it dies. Then how do you adjust that.
This method should work for your problem as well. My motor would big out at full throttle and sometimes it would shut down.
@@LKNDIYthanks for the reply. Nothing worked. I just took it to the shop 😂.
I started with Husqvarna and the equipment was not reliable at all. I switched to echo 6 years ago and I’ll never go back. I use the echo red armor oil and I’ve literally had no problems that weren’t under warranty.
I’ve had great luck with their backpack blower, but the weed eater is terrible. I’ll hVe a new one by next season.
@@LKNDIY agreed on the stick tools, get an echo, you won’t be disappointed
i did what you did on here my carb was new i put it in it still had the same problem so its the motor it self i did find out it runs great with the choke on ill run it till it dies i guess
Thanks for sharing! What is your motor doing? Is it not idling well? Is it bogging out when you throttle?
@@LKNDIY idles great but bogs when u go full throttle i have to keep feathering it but no full power which i cant believe it was fine a while ago until it wouldn't start then i put everything new in it carb fuel line filters spark plug
Interesting. Like you said, may just be the motor. Maybe run some seafoam through it? May help clean things out. If your motor is idling fine, I’d lean toward the motor being salvageable.
@@LKNDIY seafoam???
@@campusman1957 www.amazon.com/dp/B07DHHSQMS/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_NEHV17Y712FJ8FRVMX6F?linkCode=ml1&tag=lkndiy0f-20
I’d use this if you feel there is blockage somewhere. Not saying it will work. Some people are all about seafoam, others say it’s worthless. I use it in my engines.
Never had to do this with my Echo. Had it 25 years.
So what’s the screw on the right, anyone?
Y si que me ayudo Viejo
Thanks for watching!
Mine starts first pull but dies when I give it throttle. Any thoughts?
If you’ve made the adjustments in the video then it could be your spark arrestor needs to be cleaned.
so what about the right knob?????
The right knob controls the idle I didn’t have to adjust this to fix the bogging out.
I just got a 330lk n it get really hot after using it for about 5min
Absolutely! The motors do heat up fast. Thanks for watching!
Two turns out on L and H(start there)
What if the weedeater doesn’t idle
Try adjusting the idle screw. It will take some time to find the right adjustment.
@@LKNDIY I figured it out but thanks
Is not other tool that you can used to adjust the carburator me friend
Thank you for watching!
I went all the way clockwise on the throttle screw and the trimmer head is still spinning. 😳
How is is the motor idling?
@LKNDIY seems a bit high, but very smooth and steady. Purring like a tiger.
Why do they make special screws and bolts? To sell special tools! 😈
Precisely!
It's to meet warranty requirements. They don't want non qualified people damaging the product by adjusting the carb incorrectly and then trying to return it.
😂 and we buy em!!
What a dumb design I had to adjust mine 3 times already I’ll stick with Honda I have a 4 stroke Honda it’s gold
Totally agree. My Husq backpack blower is bullet proof, but the weed eater is not very good. I have a Honda mower that absolutely rips…I love it. Thanks for watching!
@@LKNDIY Can confirm on the Honda mower. I love it.
I have Husqvarna 224L which is a Honda engine, and mine is doing the same thing as this one. Mine is a 4 cycle though so why stick with "Honda" when they all do this??
They have Honda motors you goofy guber.
I have to adjust mine every time I use it and now won’t idle long enough to adjust never buy this brand again
Useless
I’m sorry you did not find this video helpful like so many others have. Hope you are able to fix your motor, my friend. 👍
I've got one of these and it sucks ass.
😂 definitely not my best piece of equipment either
