This camera is AWESOME! When I decided to invest in a new action camera, I looked at the GoPro range, but the DJI Osmo Action 3 had far better camera reviews... so the choice was easy!

Later in the year I'm going for the DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo. This is a massive step up for me, as my last video adventure was filmed with a Insta 360 One R. I will use the Insta 360 One R, for the odd b roll. As for sound I will be attaching my DJI Mic to it, so sound will be super duper!

Thank you! Was looking at getting the A3 or A4 and ended up saving the $$$ and going with the 3. For just starting my channel out, it will be better and much more useable than an iPhone 14 ProMax. Already have a mount rigged in my Jeep to mount it so all my off road can be captured and posted. Thanks!!!
Great to hear! I have to admit that I haven't been using mine often enough to really get to grips with all that it does, and for the functions to become 'second nature', but I'm getting there. Tag me into your vids so I can check them out!
I am happy with my GoPro Hero 10 - does what I want it to do. However excellent to see DJI (and Insta360) competing with GoPro - as consumers I think we are going to benefit from this now very competitive market.
I agree. With more competition in the market at all ends of the pricing scale it can only be a good thing for the consumer in terms of price, quality, and ongoing innovation.
My recent videos are done with the Action 3. Great camera, but I struggled with the sound when cycling. I'm trying out different things, and may give the windslayer you found a go (let's see how you get on with it!). I have a lav mic which seemed much better when using with my phone (i need to line up audio with camera audio in editing). I may put out a video next week of a cycle ride comparing lav mic with the camera audio, the difference is remarkable. The camera audio is fantastic, but not when cycling into a 20 mph cross wind! I've just bought a sound recorder (Sony ICD-UX570), hopefully that will be still good but easier to use with the lav mic. Without the lav mic and just using the camera audio, I also tried using double side tape with holes punched in it, and stuck on foam pads made from a pan scrubber - that worked great too but looks naff!
For camera settings, I like the horizon balancing, 1080p HD. It's great to get a level shot no matter how you hold the camera (when I point it in the right direction)! The HD setting makes loading up, saving, putting on youtube so much easier and quicker than 4k. When you get your footage, make sure you keep the low res (LRF files), and use them as proxy files (file names on low res and full res files must be the same). It makes editing so much easier and quicker. If you've not used them, look up about video's on using proxy files.
I'm not sure about the best frame rate and other camera settings yet, I just want quick and easy as I can't fiddle with things when cycling. Chest mount seems good too - when I point it in the right direction! Please share more about how you do stuff with the camera and the audio, as I am trying to learn too! All the best in your adventures and recording them :)

I've tried the windslayer out on unposted snaps and it seems to work quite well. The only downside is that it feels a little 'brittle', so I'm not sure how it will withstand the rigours of constant outdoor use - but at such a low price I guess it's not a problem.
Yes, next on my 'list of stuff to learn' is which settings provide good quality for YT without having to wait hours for the upload.
I haven't come across the LRF term before, so I'll doing some searches to find out!

Wales is awesome - plenty to see and do. Right here, where I live, within walking distance from home I have mountains, the coast, rivers, temperate rainforests, caves, historical sites dating back 6,500 years and more... there's plenty to keep you occupied!

I am searching various tutorials on how to use the various settings for making
Cat Videos, hiking vids, and fishing vids..
When I was activating my DJI Action 3 camera, I had a hell of a time..
when I went to customer service via phone, which failed..
then I tried to get service via internet chat.....It was unavailable also.
After 5 hours of figuring it out by myself and youtube videos research...
I finally got my Camera Activated and registered...but my wifi still doesn't work..and
the phone disconnects from the camera after 8 ft distance....I got 5 G internet.
Interesting. I had to call their service line too about an issue. Eventually I gave up and went through the DJI online help chat function... which wasn't particularly helpful! Eventually I found the answers on RUclips which solved my issue with the DJI multifunctional battery charger.
Cat videos? As in 'big cats' or domestic?
