In this video I explain why I chose between the DJI Osmo Action 4 and the DJI Osmo Action 3. The video contains my reasons for the choice as well as sample 4K footage using the inbuilt features: Hyperlapse, Timelapse and Slow Motion as well as some 4K underwater footage of a jellyfish and small fish.

Very thorough and well-thought-out presentation. I too went with Action 3 over Action 4. I watched many a video comparison between the two, and yes, the A4 does have a few better attributes, but I felt many of the videos I watched with the A4 had exaggerated, or pronounced colors, whereas the A3 had more true-to-life colors and weren't exaggerated making a more realistic rendition of the subject videoed. The low light was more pronounced with the A4, but I felt even though the A3 didn't show as much in low light, I felt that the videos were cleaner, clearer, and more defined than the A4. The A4 seemed muddy to me and undefined in low light.
Also, the A4 seemed to have more heating issues than the A3. Other things swayed me to the A3, such as the rubber bottom, which was removed on the A4, so it doesn't slide on a slope, but the price was the big decision-maker over the A4.

I have not compared the footage from the Osmo Action 3 with the Osmo Action 4 but I must say that I am very happy with the quality of footage that I get from my OA3.
I also find the rubber base in the OA3 very useful.
I bought a Smallrig metal cage for mine and have not had any issues of overheating since then.
I am glad that you are happy with your Osmo Action 3 and I hope you enjoy many hours of shooting with it.
I have used different external USB C mics and 3.5mm jack mics with the Boya adapter and they have always worked well and given good sound quality.

DJI 4 crushes the 3 in low light shooting by a 500% improvement factor. Hands down.
Many thanks for your comments @jjoutback that is so good to know. Low light shooting could be an issue for some users of the Osmo Action 3 as the sensor is smaller than the Osmo Action 4's.
That isn't the case for my use of the OA3 as I use it for behind the scenes videos with studio lighting so it never pushes the ISO value requirement up. But definitely something to bear in mind if you cannot use additional lighting. Thank you so much for pointing that out. Take care and be safe, Andy
Beware of the selfy stick. It comes with a 1/4 screw mount on the bottom but that is just a ~ 2 cm long plastic piece that is pushed in the bottom.
I almost cracked the camera's screen because the whole thing broke off from my tripod when I moved it (with the stick on the shortest length that is) because the bottom piece came out of the bottom.

H,i many thanks for your comments. To be honest I have not tried the Go Pro 10 but I am extremely happy with my Osmo Action 3 and I am not thinking of upgrading to the Osmo Action 4. I will wait until the Osmo Action 5 or 6 are released if they have significant improvements over the OA3. I can't find the mic you are referring to anywhere. Bought the Dji 3 today.

The mic I used is the Relacart MiPassport 2 which is a dual (2 transmitter + 1 receiver) wireless microphone set connected to my Osmo Action 3 using the Boya BY-K4 microphone adapter (3.5mm to USB C). I hope you like my other already published content and my yet to be published videos and if you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments section. Happy videoing and try out the still photos function as well. The Action 3 takes great stills too and use the manual mode if you can. It is super easy and intuitive.

@@Fourwedge Then a good wireless microphone is a good solution for Moto Vlogging. I picked up the Relacart MiPassport 2 at a good price but I have also seen it at almost double what I paid for it. I paid 128 Euros on AliExpress but there are a lot of new wireless mics that have hit the market in the last year. Just don't get the cheap ones that are advertised to be for Android/IOS even though they are USB C which plugs directly into the Osmo Action 3 as their sound is not that good. At least the 2 I bought and tried. Good luck
Hi ive watched your video and found it very helpful in delivering informative information about the Dji 3 camera. I've just bought a the same camera and I cant find the right app for if mimo on playstore. Its coming up with Apk files which is the proper app and what does it look like. Thanks if you can help me sort this issue out, so I can download it into my android phone..
