    The reason why Vegas fans didn’t leave game 7 and watched the Caps celebrate is obvious. They wanted to see the cup handed out and just the cup presentation. Literally that’s a once in a life time thing sometimes for fans. Of course you won’t leave and no fans leave when they see the cup handed out it’s not just Vegas fans who done that. Lots of fans done that even the preds in 2017

      I watched it all on tv but my husband left the room. I had not watched this before so it was interesting. I kind of followed what all they did afterwards as well. They fought for a long time to get to that point. We are just starting out story. We will be back.

    I think the emotion and thirst in that Washington dressing room was the difference. Those Caps were like a pack of hungry wolves once they got close enough to smell victory. For OV and few guys in that room. That affects the whole team. A year ago people were talking OV trade.

    • @tonydamico8075
      @tonydamico8075 6 лет назад

      Definitely. You could tell in how they dealt with the adversity they faced each round. Shamefully, I almost wrote them off when they went down 2-0 to Columbus.

      M B , he's got lots of gas in the tank. He's only got one and Sid or other guys have multiples. I don't think he's done wanting to win. Ownership and management in Washington might be another question. He still could be traded before he's done, is a possibility. Not this year and they could go back to back. They are a good team.

      john derosa t.....and if you consider the fact that if Boston didn't trade Thornton to the Sharks over a decade ago, you would have to come up with some other irrelevant excuse for Vegas owning the Sharks in the playoffs.
      Hell, as long as we're talking in hypotheticals, if you consider the fact that if Bruce McNall didn't bring Wayne Gretzky to LA, there would be no Sharks, no Ducks, no Coyotes, and no VGK franchises.But Thornton WAS traded; McNall DID bring Gretz to LA; the Sharks, Ducks, Coyotes, and Golden Knights franchises DO exist; and the Knights DID have a VERY impressive, incredible run.

    Vegas resident & fan here. In 2016 I was one of those naysayers that said hockey wouldn't work in Vegas, but warmed up to the idea of hockey for the 2017-18 season. I started following the Vegas team since their first preseason game where they won scoring 10 goals. I was at the first home game where I decided James Neal #18 would be my first official jersey. Fast forward to June after months of watching this team battle through competition and goaltender struggles, I watched my team go to a Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. I stayed behind almost an hour to feel what a loss meant for my team and what a win felt like for a dedicated fan base and franchise of four decades. This truly is an incredible and beautiful sport. I'm happy this season happened and happy the Vegas Golden Knights are here to stay. GO KNIGHTS GO! We'll be back to the final soon.
    Love your channel and all the wonderful content! 50k imminent!

    IT is a scandal.
    >new expansion
    >expansion rules far different from last time
    >guaranteed 1 good young player / veteran from every team
    >or a draft pick/player to take a certain NHL caliber player
    >act surprised when this team is good
    They were given a good team rather than have to build one like everyone else. I get it from a financial perspective for the NHL but as a fan its bullsh*t

    Everyone thought Vegas would lose 4 in a row during the season. No one thought the only time it would happen would be in June. It was the most incredible run and Holtby's save changed everything. It was like being hot at a blackjack table where you double down on 11 and hit a 9 with a dealer showing a deuce and the dealer pulls out 21 with 6 cards.

    Thanks for this great video. I think about that last series over and over again. We did not play the game that got us there. We needed to stay on them tight. We didn't cover Ovechkin like we should have. We just let him sit out there. We didn't cover that pass across to him. All things we normally do. I think the fact that we were there was overwhelming and made us change who we were. Their team had some really big guys but other teams had beat them, so it could be done. I think we need to get some big strong guys for next year. We also played some players that cost us. So, going forward we can add a few strong players and be back next year stronger. There was something very strange going on with Karlsson. I am not sure if he was injured or not. He kept stopping and waiting to pass it when he would normally shoot. I love this team and fully believe we will be in the running for years to come.

    they take a step back no doubt but they might come out of it better, you figure next years draft they got one first rounder two 2nds and three 3rds and the following year they have one first rounder and three 2nd rounders at the top end. They have either assets to move to get players or draft players to stock shelves the future is looking ok as long as management drafts ok

  • @thesportspectator962

    I think they assumed they would of had an easier time with the Caps. it felt like they thought they could lose the lead, but because they have magic they would be able to come back and it finally didn't work for them. Also, Washington knows how to hockey well over there eh?

    You know what I was surprised with Vegas was for an expansion team in a place where nobody should have known of Hockey I saw fans captured by any turnover in the neutral zone. They where ready to celebrate on every shot. I was very surprised.
    Maybe there was a bunch of 100$bets last Summer and they where 3 wins from being lotto ticket types of bets by the cup finals. Maybe that was the case but even then that kind of excitement doesn't go away I think they might be fans for life now. Hopefully it would be fun to have a Montreal type of atmosphere in Nevada.

      NiftyNiklz - I totally understand that trust me. You don't understand how great of an atmosphere it looked like from my living room. Ottawa where I have seen the majority of my games you can hear the puck drop on faceoffs. When you heckle a player you absolutely know he is hearing you like everything you are saying. I felt so bad for Fleury that all his hard work was being destroyed at the end there. It was not fair to him for it to finish that way. He also started letting things past him that he normally would have stopped. Very strange how the whole thing played out. I think is amazing. I'm not writing them off per say, but I don't see a repeat of this season for Vegas. They'll loose that chip on their shoulder they had all season becuase they'll naturally mature as a team plus Fleury can both have good and bad seasons. If Fleury has a down season (And no one can say that he doesn't bad seasons) then that'll help bring them back down to a more middle of the road team for next season. I also don't see Washington repeating, sorry my prediction is Pittsburgh wins Stanley Cup next year.

    • @kosmicwizard
      @kosmicwizard 6 лет назад +1

      Jason Voorhees still too early to tell, but I see Winnipeg or San Jose and Tampa Bay or Columbus in the finals next year.
      Tavares, Eric Karlsson, John Carlson, and so forth have a chance to make a big impact on different teams.
      OEL for Matthews makes Toronto a contender.
      Please don't murder me with a machete because I disagree with you. Cheers.

      @jasonvoorhees8545 6 лет назад

      Oh dear, you had to go and mention Toronto.... Thems fightin words online lol
      No, I don't see Toronto contending just yet. They'll get better but I see Toronto taking Washington's path to a cup, which is in the distant future (10+ yrs) because Matthews (as good as he is) isn't generational talent like Crosby. I might piss someone off by saying that but I think Toronto is over excited, like Edmonton lol McDavid is better than Matthews too but one guy doesn't make a team. I think Talbot is better than Freddie too but what do I know ?? lol We'll see. I Just don't think Pittsburgh is done yet but look at Chicago... No one thought they were done yet either.

    The true Stanley Cup if you can say that or the biggest series of 2018 was Caps vs the Lightning in the conference final. Still think Vegas was amazing just Washington and Tampa were the two best teams this year. If the Caps and Lightning play another set it could be either teams series. If Caps and Vegas played another you just know Caps would win it at least a 85 to 90 percent chance. I am a Caps fan though so I admit my bias. Tampa looks like it's going to be a serious threat for awhile.
    Edit: Vegas was great though but kinda like how the AFC teams were great in the 90's till they got to the super bowl or the NFC teams were in the 00's. Hope Vegas don't become the Buffalo Bills of hockey.😬 Sorry Vegas fans don't kill me.

      Either one of those teams would have been hell to try to beat. We thought we ran deep with players that could score but in the end it revealed some things we need to work on. We are close but I am hoping the draft will help us get stronger.

      No need to worry about death as you spoke your mind and were respectful. So from this Golden Knights fan, prop, and congrats. If we had to LOOSE to a team I am glad it was the caps and ovi.
