As a Flyers fan, I honestly think Drysdale will be the more important story for the team this year. I assume Michkov will be fine- put up 40-60 points, look good on the powerplay, show some growing pains adjusting to the North American game, and generally looking like a good but still young 19-year-old. Drysdale is key though. Can he stay healthy for a whole year? Will that let him take a big step offensively? Will he look like he can be their No. 1 defenceman of the future? Because if not, they have a big problem on their hands.
I dont really see Woll as a key player this year but thats probably just my pessimism. St Louis is a tough one. Thomas is consistent enough that I’m not too worried about him. I’m more concerned about secondary scoring for when that top line has a slump. Couple more goals in a few 1-0 or 2-1 losses last year and maybe they would’ve made the playoffs
