- I'm back surprisingly sooner than ever with a random video about healing my new hand tattoo! I got my hand tattooed May 31st, 2019 and I show you the healing process in one month, what it looks like from fresh to completely healed, hope you enjoy these kind of videos!

aghh ive been wanting a hand tattoo for SO LONG, i finally got it today and it goes so well with my sleeve!! and pain wise, it didnt hurt as much as i thought it would be, goodluck everyone
So I'm so happy that I found this! Like it's my 4th day and my hand is still hella swollen and I was about to freak the fuck out thinking it was infected. That you again for posting this!

My first tattoo i got 4 days ago and i got hand tattooed and my forearm all done in first setting. I took 9 years from 18 to get my first tat ive thought for long enough. Im getting sleeve done over 4 months and im in health industry and my artist cares about his art. He gladly did hand straight up.
Ok but you don't just gave your hand you also have your forearm so it will look better than just having a random tattoo in your hand, either or, this is just my opinion so it doesn't matter you do you !
I love the moon at the top of your hand tat! I just got mine randomly yesterday!!! I was worried about the swelling but yours def reassured me 🤣😁🥰
just got my first one didn't hurt at all apart from the highlights at the end & I wouldn't suggest using any products on it just use warm water and gently rub in a circle motion then add some Palmers cocoa butter 3 times a day while washing 3 times a day and if needed add more cocoa butter inbetween, my swelling went after day 2
I use something called Bacitraycin for my tattoos.
I have a friend that’s covered head to toe in tats.
He told me about this stuff years ago and man he wasn’t wrong.
The tattoos heal way faster and the scabs light slide off like butter.
So if you wanted to do that air drying out to push it to the scabbing stage I’d grab up some do that Bacitraycin stuff and use it 2x a day and watch the magic happen.
And it’s really soothing to the skin.
It’s never made any of my tats get wonky or faded.
If anything it sped up the healing process by a lot!
And it helps the itch rubbing that shi* on it!!

I just got my first hand tattoo covered with scream, and it connects to my chucky half sleeve
got my other hand done today, but I'm the complete opposite! i love watching the machine and the needles in my skin, I feel it really puts my mind at ease knowing WHEN the needles are gonna touch my skin. but yea lol for sure, hands suckkkk, but absolutely worth it :)))

I actually don't mind watching the needles go in my skin either and I like watching the process, I feel it hurts sonewhat less when I can see the pain being inflicted on me haha

@@sarastrange5282 i feel u for sure, still burns like shit at certain bits i'm sure u know the bits i mean lol. but yea i'm covered tried music, audiobooks, films... nlthing works just gotta focus on the work n try to find some relaxation in the pain who knows mibs i'm just a weirdo :)))) but communicating with my artist whether it be about the tattoo or just random shit also helps me loads :))))

I got my hand tattoo a week and a half ago. And on day like 6 when it was starting to form scabs, my daughter dropped something and as I bent down to pick it up she stepped and like stepped on/kicked my hand and ripped the biggest scab off and completely took the ink out of my panthers nose. I’m so bummed. But I go back today to get my traditional tiger on my other hand I’m going to show my artist and get his opinion. It’s for sure going to need touched up. So In a few weeks when I go back and get my traditional reaper I’ll have him touch it up. But I was confused on how to heal it. I always used to dry heal all my other tattoos but I think I got paranoid and “over” moisturized my hand the first few days and on the 2nd day of letting it dry she steps on my shit and completely bummed me out. Which brings me to your videos trying to see how other people healed theres which I should’ve done to begin with and just listened to my artist lol. Goddamnit.
I just got a hand tattoo yesterday and it’s swollen and puffy compared to my left hand it hurts still too

thank you for this video! got my hand tattoo 5 days ago and yesterday felt it release somewhat as it has been so tight and swollen since it was done, today feels a bit tight again. Was not prepared for the swelling, have full arm and other tattoos also but this one hurt like hell! have been using the odd ice pack to help with the swelling and the bruising that appeared on my inner wrist. I knew it was gonna be painful but wow, like you the first 3 days was like omg i can only use one hand lol. Beautiful tattoo by the way. 💀💀
I just got my hand/wrist tatted they seem to heal a little different but it's in constant use on my wrist I guess, doesn't hurt as much as u think I brought "super numb" from Amazon and IT WORKS! weird feeling though numb In certain places more than others
I've never tried numbing cream but I'm definitely looking into it for when I get my neck done !

I just had both if my hands done yesterday! I'm in agreement. Did it hurt more than most of my work? Yes. But it wasn't the agony I expected at 3.5 hours per hand. Taking off work until Monday and light duty for the next week. Wildflowers and an iris for me. Yours turned out beautifully!
Is it a bit awkward doing stuff with both hands tattooed at the same time? How was it with both swollen and sore lol? I've got both mine booked in for end of december. Full cover and knuckles. I've taken a week off work but wondering if I should add an extra few days due to working with my hands and wearing gloves in my job.
@@kentucky_brew3678 It wasn't too bad with the swelling. The first few days after I had off work and the swelling was down by the time I started back to work on Monday. It was 9 days after I had them done the first time I used gloves at work. I know everyone heals at different rates, but you should be okay with 7 days off. But if you have the extra time off to burn, I think 10 days would be the perfect time to have them heal up nicely.

Awesome tattoo 🤘I just got my hand done owl with scenery artist dId an amazing job I have tattoos all over and I have to admit some parts of my hand hurt like hell haha and the swelling took like 3 days to go down not looking forward to the next hand haha great video 👍
I just got a rose on the top of my hand the same size as your tattoo and my hand is swollen just like yours was. I was really scared by the swelling thats why I found your video.

Im 18 and my hand was my first tattoo and It covered 80% of my hand🤷🏽♂️
I definitely don't think that's the best move and I think the artist is kinda stupid for tattooing your hand, my 2 sleeves are massive coverups from all the small tattoos I got when I was 17, 18, 19... I evolved as a person, my style has changed a lot since then so I definitely wouldn't re recommend young teens to get visible tattoos right away, but that's just my opinion good luck !

Im getting both of my hands tattooed In may and Im just trying to find out how to heal them , I have other tattoos but nowhere that Is so hard to heal . Im only getting the side of my hands and my knuckles done
You need to take time off work and be a handicap for a week at least !!!
I get 4 January 29th at 2 pm hand wrist flower then small space one behind left ear neck area music notes right ear and finger one lol few days before my 31st birthday witch is feb 2
I'm covered in tattoos and have never had any problems with healing ect. Always felt my skin healed fast and didn't swell much. But I've finally got my hands booked in for the end of December to have them both fully covered. Will be having my knuckles done as well. I've booked a week off work for it. I'm now wondering if I should add on a few extra days as I work with my hands and have to wear gloves ect (I can minimize my glove wearing but I cant avoid it all the time). What do you reckon ?

About to get my hand and above tattooed on a virgin arm. Can really back you up on a good artist will really be against this.
Luckily I'm 34 and he listened when I I assured him about his concerns. It is certainly a huge step. Please don't be mad at artists who are concerned for your well being people they are potentially giving up money to make sure you won't be making a mistake.

I have second skin gloves lotion soap I was told I'd need new bedding pillows to I'll be taking a whole week off as it's my birthday week next week anyways so lol but after that got gloves to wash dishes hair body so I don't ruin the hand and finger one
I have 3 already lol still so many to do but figured get all my small ones then big ones lol

If you have unavoidable critter care would you recommend gloves worn while working?
Wearing gloves on a open wound is not recommended ...
@@sarastrange5282 so if the choice is wearing a glove for like 30 minutes or just washing hand afterwards you would say go for uncovered?
How many times did you wash your hands daily I’m on my third day , but my artist told me to put A&D after I take the bandage off it’s it’s still sore should I just switch to non fragrance lotion on the forth day

I don't think it's weird having a big tattoo on hands without having any in the arms,,,,I was tatted yesterday a big one in my hands ,without any sleeve tattoo in my arms and for me it looks so good,,,well I respect what you believed in..
It's just my opinion ;) everyone is free to do as they wish :)

Can I start putting moisturizer after the first day or should I wait?
I don't recommend putting cream on an open wound, I usually wait until it scabs over typically on the third day
Only use moisturizer after a few days and if your doing the dry heal method
Music music have em if possible to play my music! I just got my hand mine on Thursday.. love use Dr. Bronners soap n wash em like 3× day& personally each shop or y'all choice I use a& d ointment. My swelling was wrst 2 days in! Beautiful work!! 🤟🤟✌️🌼
How long did you all leave your hand covered. I got mine 24 hours ago, apart from cleaning and creaming I've kept it under clingfilm/saran wrap since.
No you're not supposed to leave saran wrap on it... Is that what your artist told you to do ??
I just got both my hands done fully to complete my sleeves. my 1 hand is 13 days healed and I can see cracks in the tattoo with no ink underneath is this common? are touch ups on this area normal?
I got my hand tattooed yesterday and I dunno about cracks but my artist warned me before we even started that touch ups are usually necessary on hand tattoos!
@@irmakkaya9331 my hand fully healed, later found out the real ink was under the cracks healing. I went back and got my 2nd hand done. gettin my fingers blasted this wknd. yes touch-ups are a must with hands. cheers

I had my hand tattoo done 15 days ago. It’s a zombie skull tattoo. So a lot of black and white colour. The white colour has disappeared 😔 The black colour has gone to that milky phase lol. So I’m hoping it will disappear in the next 10 to 14 days
Wait a few weeks til it's completely healed, than you can always get it touched up if anything... White doesn't hold very well in general anyway it only looks good when it's fresh 🙈

Hi! I got black and white tatto on my arm 5 days ago, and in the shower I saw some tiny little pieces came off and where they were it kinda appears lighter now... is it ok ?
Yes it should be perfectly normal like you can see in my video once the scab falls off it looks a lot lighter but it will be more true to color once it's fully healed in 3 to 4 weeks, just don't pick at the scabs and you should be good :)
I'm planning on getting my first few tattoos in the near feature. I basically have no ink what so ever on my body as of right now and I want to start of by tattooing my hands. Do you think that most artists would refuse to tattoo my hands since I don't already have any tattoos on my body? Since watching your video I'm a bit worried that they will turn me down.
In all honesty for a first tattoo I don't recommend getting anything on a visible area especially the hands, also how old are you? Any artist that does care about your future will refuse to do it, we evolve as we age, if you're young I highly don't recommend it, why don't you get something elsewhere to start off? Hands are also quite painful, I don't suggest it for a first tattoo also like I mentioned I think it looks odd
@@sarastrange5282 I'm 18, turning 19 in a few months from now. I have other places on my body that i want to get tattooed (legs and arms for example) but at least as of right now i can't see myself getting a full sleeve (at most probably like a half-sleeve). I don't know, a hand tattoo was just one of those things that i feel in love with (basically because it's so visible to yourself and others). I do agree with you though that if you only have a hand tattoo and no sleeve it does appear pretty odd. I'll probably take your advice though and start of by getting a tattoo on another part of my body that isn't as visible.
@@vertxi9934 I got all my first tattoos on my arms when I was 17, 18, 19, they are all now covered up by massive sleeves, my style now at 32 years old is way different compared to back when I was 18, your style and taste WILL change as a person, you will evolve, tattooing has also evolved as well, back then you just picked something off the wall, now we are lucky to have so many great talented artists, please do your research, start with something small just to see if you do like it and no do not get a sleeve now because guaranteed you will hate it in a few years ;)

Hey, how many times did you wash your tattoo In a day ?
About 3 times a day, like I mentioned in the video, I legit did nothing for the first few days, no dishes, no laundry, no chores, don't wanna take the chance and get it infected, I also did put ice on it to help with the swelling
I’ve done the sternum so I hope the hand is not that bad this is only a 2/3hour tat compared to the sternum was 8 hours I don’t know how I managed it 🤣🤦♀️

I got my hand done 3 days ago. And my swellings pretty bad. The little knuckles on my fingers got super swollen. Is that normal?
Yup it didn't happen so much when I got this hand done but I got my other hand done and my knuckles and fingers were so swollen 🥴
@@sarastrange5282 is it normal for iy to be red around the area as well swollen three days after and it wasn't my whole hand just shading in the area of the top corner im concerned for swelling

Wow sorry I am so late to your reply, I've had my hand done for a little over a year now and I did get it touched up, I am super careful with it, it has not really faded to be honest, I always put sunscreen and try to keep it out of the sun as much as I can ... Also depends on how well the work is done I suppose? I personally find realism tattoos don't last as well as bold lines and traditional work

I have both hands done both one again yesterday and it’s a cover up to the skull mouth you know the one you put to your face. I now have a black panther with a dagger going through it’s head it’s ok on the knuckles I find it’s worse on the finger and the outside of the hand where it’s just fat it’s pretty stingy and between the thumb and index plus your tattoo looks sick I have a rose on my left hand 🌹

I am supposed to get a hand tattoo next month and I am sous chef, I doubt I'd be able to take some days off for the healing. So I hope all goes well for me honestly. lol

I highly suggest you take time off... your hands gonna be swollen as fuck the first few days maybe even a week, you won't even be able to use it...
My stuff is all scent free and free of other bad things they said to watch out for lol
