Portal 2's puzzles have a Crystal Maze feel about them most of the time.
This was sooo good. Please bring back a full series!!! Just need harder games like the old days.

The Stephan Merchant Crystal Mazes were the best Crystal Mazes.

You know, a fun idea that each zone should have it's own version of the clocks counting down, like futuristic with the digital clock style digits each time period influences the timer.

Portal 2: the gameshow
Merchant was a great host, would have been nice to see him a lot more in the role of Maze-Master but obviously had more commitments on etc
That and the fact this was a huge failure with the ratings
He would have been much better than Ayoade imo. This was actually a very successful episode - technically a pilot episode which the viewing figures garnered the 'new' series.
3 minutes once he's inside? Story of Josh's life.
I wished for this special to be better than the disgraceful Robot Wars revival. My wish was granted! :)

I have just watched this on demand and in my opinion they have changed the format quite a lot and what have they done 2 the future zone it now looks like something from a star trek / star wars movie people having there own door 2 come out of
This wasn't filmed at a specially-constructed set, this was filmed at The Crystal Maze Experience, the crowd-funded tourist attraction in Islington (a second and larger Maze is being built at the former Granada Television studios in Manchester, opening next April) the-crystal-maze.com/

Hi The first series was filmed at Shepperton Studios then the later 5 series all filmed at a North Weald aircraft hanger. New series is filmed in Bristol.

This was before Jungle run
Tori Lee - Jungle Run was a rip-off version of The Crystal Maze. There were different areas where they played games, one was set in the future, one in a castle, a sunken ship and a sandy ancient jungle. That was the one which Jungle Run based itself upon. Michael Underwood even appeared as a child on a kids' Christmas special, before he was famous. If you like this version of the Crystal Maze, go find the old version from the 90's, originally presented by the amazing Richard O'Brien, then later Ed Tudor-Pole who was a decent replacement. it's way better than this new version and the set was absolutely huge, the size of two football pitches.

I would love to see an American version of this game show.
They'd have to dumb it down a lot for that and it wouldn't be as good anymore
