- Unlocking the Secrets of Led Zeppelin’s Sound
The Soul of Zeppelin was founded by award-winning composer, guitarist and educator, Carl Baldassarre. During COVID, Baldassarre had a vision to handpick superb musicians and a compelling lead vocalist that could unlock the secret of Led Zeppelin’s sound. The secret of Led Zeppelin’s sound is hidden in the band’s influences: which includes blues, funk, soul, swing, jazz, R&B, rock, and classical music. Like Led Zeppelin, The Soul of Zeppelin plays Led Zeppelin’s greatest songs while channeling the band and their influences.
As a highly acclaimed guitarist/connoisseur of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin, Baldassare has a vast knowledge of Led Zeppelin’s history which he shares during each show to enhance the experience.
The result is not an imitation or a caricature, but a living musical experience of the magic of Led Zeppelin in a presentation like nothing else in the world.

We all know the guitarist is on point. But it's the vocals that sealed the deal.
Now that's the Zep sound! Love all of it. Carl really nails the solos. And Marcus Scott has probably the best vocals I've heard on any Zep cover.
I love how he respects the song and Plant's original vocal arrangement but adds his own style to it so that it doesn't sound like karaoke.
He has power and soul that is a great match for this band.
It’s almost the other way around! Marcus sounds like the American blues, soul and funk vocalist that all the British Invasion singers loved and wanted to copy. That’s what made Led Zeppelin do what they did. I’m just putting a band together with blues, funk, jazz, rock and classical musicians that can interpret the music with the influences that Robert plant, Jimmy page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones had!
The best Zeppelin cover I've ever seen - catches the feel as well as the technicality (which most bands don't!). Well done Carl and everyone involved.

The best Zeppelin cover band ever. I know them all and have seen several live. Accuracy of guitar and band unmatched. Then enter the passion and “soul” of the lead vocalist. Mic drop. Contest over. Band has left the building.

I don’t normally listen to Zep covers; clicked on this out of curiosity due to your other posts. This is incredibly good, really capturing the essence of the Zeppelin sound and the energy of their live performances.

I know! He is an absolute wizard! He’s thoroughly trained in jazz and that’s a required feel for Led Zeppelin (as you know). I’ve started writing with Jacob and I can tell you that he’s also brilliant as a composer/arranger. An overall virtuoso!
