- The Soul of Zeppelin was founded by award-winning composer, guitarist and educator, Carl Baldassarre. During COVID, Baldassarre had a vision to handpick superb musicians and a compelling lead vocalist that could unlock the secret of Led Zeppelin’s sound. The secret of Led Zeppelin’s sound is hidden in the ability to improvise and channel the band’s influences: which includes blues, funk, soul, swing, jazz, R&B, rock, country, and classical music. Like Led Zeppelin, The Soul of Zeppelin improvises their way through Led Zeppelin’s greatest songs while channeling the band and their influences.
As a highly acclaimed guitarist/connoisseur of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin, Baldassarre has a vast knowledge of Led Zeppelin’s history which he shares during each show to enhance the experience.
The result is not an imitation or a caricature, but a living musical experience of the magic of Led Zeppelin in a presentation like nothing else in the world.
Featuring:
MARCUS SCOTT - vocals (Tower of Power)
NICK D'VIRGILIO - drums (Tears for Fears, Genesis, Big Big Train, Spock’s Beard, Cirque du Soleil)
CARL BALDASSARRE - guitars (Abraxas, Syzygy, Baldassarre)
and Special Guests:
JACOB DUPRE - keys (Glenn Miller Orchestra, Artist in Residence - Sweetwater Sound)
AL ROLIK - bass (Syzygy, Baldassarre)

Good lord. That man can sing! Absolutely amazing. More please!!
He's doing A LOT more screaming in key here than actual singing.
Robert planted it... and it grew... These guys are soul.
So love this comment!
Where the hell do you find a singer who can do that? Damn.
I’ve waited my whole life. Thank goodness I lived long enough to be lucky enough to work with Marcus Scott!!
if i ever hit the lottery were going on tour, how the hell are you all not already on tour. this is AWESOME as hell.
I can't wait until the algorithm gives Carl some love. This channel definitely has 500k+ potential.
Thank you! I could sure use it!!
the only people who dont love this is the hearing impared. this is awesome as -uck period.
Outstanding! Carl is great, but mad props to the gentlemen on vocals.......loved his take on the song.
Baldasarre is a true cool dude.
Great rendition... This song has always been a big influence on me.. I would play this over and over... Its one of the songs thats Blues Bible to me.. There's been 4-5 guys I relate to most when It comes to blues playing.. Albert King,Hendrix, Stevie ray Vaughan, johnny Winter and of course... The impeccable James Patrick Page... You guys captured it beautifully here.. Rock on!
Beautiful performance, congrats 🎈🎉🎊 ❤❤❤
Thank you!!!!
That handmonica worked just fine. We're in a recession anyways and harmonica players are expensive!
Magical performance yet again 🤟🏾
Thank you!
FANTASTIC!!!
What a set of pipes the singer has! And the guitarist has Jimmy Page's part down. His tone with a Les Paul through a Marshall sounds great too!
Carl even nails the slurs of Page.
Great job on all parts and players.
Thank you!!
SaaWeeet!! Fun! Such talent needs to be heard all over the land... I crown Thee, if I may from a talent perspective, Baldassarre And The Badasses 😎❤
World class performance, Carl! Would've been there if I didn't have my own gig that night. Hoping this group continues playing together so I can catch a show in person!
Absolutely Awesome!
Wow. What a great singer!
Awesome job Carl and everyone! Marcus totally slayed that between the awesome vocals and sick handmonica! 🎸😎🔥🎶
#1 lead guitar jimmy page
Bravo Carl, Bravo! Close my eyes the imprint of Jimmy in my ears with just enough Carl to make it an interesting evolution. Well done brother.
Thank you so much!
Fantastica interpretazione ed esecuzione!! Suono molto curato. Vero spirito di Led Zeppelin I. !! ❤❤❤
Wow ❤
Awesome
I love it when you're digging deep into the solo and the singer is ready to catch you if you fall over backwards.... Rock and Roll at it's pure!
Thank you. It’s like being overcome by the spirit!!
You guys should go out on tour, especially in Europe!
Carl
WELL DONE!
"Awesome"
Nice!
Another absolutely Awesome spot on cover. 🤘😎🎸
Awesome cover!
Outstanding! knocked it right out of the ballpark.😎🎸🎤🥁🎸👍👍👍👍
Amazing rendition of this song.
Love this, Carl!! Please post all your shows and clips going forward.

Missed you guys the last couple of Mondays. Terrific performance, keep them coming 👍
Thank you. We we’re doing shows and I’ve fallen behind!
Great job everyone! Overall sound and performance tops!
Great to see you @The Palace on Friday night!! Marcus is a beast! Really great show, love ya man!
Sweet looking Les Paul there!
Thanks. I have an episode about it in the works!
Wow........this is the best cover of this Zep tune I've ever heard. Fantastic. Where is your band based out of ? ........Great band resume's by the way......Tower of Power and Arbraxas ? .........nice !
This is great!
Thank you Michael!
Down write Bad Ass Blues Band !
That was good Carl. Nice take.
Once again, primo, Carl! Keep these vids coming.
Thank you!
So good....
Thanks a lot 😊
Superb does not sufficiently describe this performance. An additional choice expletive is still inadequate. Phenomenal. More please (thank you) :)
Amazing...🔥🔥. Look forward to seeing you guys when you come to a village in Englandshire...??
Well dang - Am I glad I found your channel.
As I was telling a friend, so many ATTEMPT Zepp, and usually strangle the soul out of it. This is legit.
My god, this is so killer!
It was crazy to be a part of it!
Like many a lifelong Zephead, I get whimsical about the old-school blues on their early albums. Does SoZ have a video of “You Shook Me”?
That would be a great one to add!!
Wow, an inspired choice for a singer. Of course he would fit Zeppelin well.
Agreed!
Sooooo, uh, that was pretty much astounding
:)))
simply brilliant, this is the best cover of led zepps version of this classic gem ive ever heard. you should try otis rushes version as well. this made my day.
Thank you so much!!! I’m very familiar with Otis’s version. That’s the land of nativity right there! Ps…please share. We need all the help we can get!!
🎹👍
So cool! I know some people kind of dismiss the more traditional blues content of the first LZ album, but I loved it then and I love it now. Excellent rendition 👍
Me too!!!
I’m 68 yrs. old having grown up with LZ, and I’ve always identified them to be a blues-rock band. IMO, Led Zepellin were at their very best playing the blues.
You guys bought all the aviator specs haha
Perfect sound, guitar performance, drums and amazing singers. For me sound better than Robert Plant.
Marcus is the genuine article! As such, he owns and inhabits this material!!
🔆🔆👌🙏🏼👌🔆🔆
That guy has got some serious lung power…nice job
Play in Austin!!
Anybody who has booking agency and PR connections please send them my way!
The band is doing so much more than hitting great interpretations right on the head- good fun!
Is it ok if I call this one: "Blues for Ian (Yes, you shook me)"?
Sure! Thanks for watching brother!!!
Great job! You guys coming to Chicago?
Would love to!! Do you know any booking agents???
When are you coming to New York?
Right! We’d love to! Anybody that has any booking agents that can help us string 2-3 shows together, please send them my way. New York would lose their minds at this show!!
Thank you for your GREAT PERFORMANCE❗❗😍😍
If possible plz my ZEP cover too😊😊
Amazing, but what' s goin on with bass being sharp all time??
it's Otis Rush
Great Stuff can u do Achilles ?
On the bucket list!
and Marcus steals the show...
Exactly!
Handmonica......... I'm dyin.
Exactly how we felt on stage…just dyin’ …we didn’t know it was even a thing until Marcus dropped it on us live. It was hard to keep playing because we were cracking up!
Love the LP Custom! is it vintage?
1974 with a story. I’ll be doing an episode on it real soon! Stay tuned!!
@@CarlBaldassarreMusic Do all your Les Pauls have a story?
@@CarlBaldassarreMusic Do I remember that particular LP? No, can't be. The one I'm thinking of was covered in bow rosin 😆
I have two Gibson Les Paul’s plus an Epiphone Les Paul (which I use for the violin bow bits on stage). However, my #2 tobacco finish Les Paul has a story as well! I’ll have to tell that story on the episode I’m going to shoot. Thanks for the suggestion!!
That was my first Les Paul - “artist” series.
I know they did it first but just imagine if the singer was in Zep instead of Plant? I personally like the sound better. Just my opinion. I love Plant but this is beautiful!
That’s so awesome to hear! Thank you!!
All the money I've spent on those Hohners over the years, and I could have just used a handmonica.
We had no idea that was coming. I love Jacob’s (keyboard player) reaction when Marcus starts the handmonica bit!
Hey Carl !! Check out my "Spotify Play Along I Can't Quit You Baby" video I recorded *early* Monday morning. Just messin' 'round !! Hope you like the theatrics and the fingernail picking and, most importantly, as Roger Waters said, that it moves you. All the Best Always, Wyn

This is absolutely... Off. The. Chart.
HI Carl, what brand wah pedal do you use live? good stuff as always. Cheers.
Mini cry baby! Love that pedal!
Is it cheating to use 5 musicians????
Nah. Nobody on that stage cheated to learn their craft. Practice for 8 hours a day, every day ..... for YEARS.
Learned it and earned it.
Hat's off to Roy Harper and to y'all too.
Thanks
Ha! Thank you!!
What so many Zep Tributes get wrong is that they try to copy Plant. IMHO, this man is singing his heart out and making it his own! I'm sorry Carl but your vocalist is stealing the show!
You got that right! He’s got the greatest voice I’ve ever been blessed to play with!!
