You and I are fortunate to have such wonderful husbands! I don't have an addi, I just have lots of knitting needles and my poor old hands. Here in Utah, we have Temps from 105° to 10-20°F. I crochet & knit everything from tank tops to hats and scarves and heavy sweaters. Love you, Mama Kayla, and you also Big Daddy! 💜

Harbor Freight sells magnetic bowls that are perfect for holding all the screws! Not expensive either. Can be used for sewing pins, small tools for sewing machines, etc. Good job Big Daddy. You are my kind of guy. Thanks for taking such good care of your family.

I clean mine in dishwater, rinse well and let dry completely before greasing {lithium) and reassembling. I think I will try the silicone grease next time, so Thank you for this video. 💖💖🙏🙏💖💖

Nice informational/how to video Big Daddy. It's great you can do these things. My husband who passed away in 2007 was very handy too. I don't think there was anything he couldn't do. I would've possibly gotten it apart and cleaned but remembering how to put it back together would is another thing. Thanks Kayla for sharing Big Daddy's knowledge with us. I didn't know about the oil and plastic. Take care.
I guess Big Daddy can do most anything. It seems that way for watching your videos. I know that is all a great help to you, Kayla. I have thought about buying and Addi, but I really want to learn to knit with needles. I can do some, but not enough to actually make a project. I truly enjoyed this tutorial.

Greetings from Port Orchard Wa.. I have a new Addi King and Pro and my King is making a horrible noise and the handle is hard to turn-- so am thinking I probably need to do a cleaning.. Thank you! I’ve been thinking about getting a knitting machine, but am trying to learn everything about them before I spend the money on one. Your and Big Daddy’s tutorial will be very helpful in the future. I also welcome any more tutorials on how to use a knitting machine and how to make hats, blankets, etc. I am a knitter and a newer crocheter, but knitting is a slow process, so having a knitting machine would be fun. I hope you’re feeling better. I’m glad you felt well enough to go out to the estate sale. I deal with chronic illness and pain and also cancer and am recovering from surgery and radiation treatment. I started crocheting blankets to try to get my strength back. I found your channel when I was looking for crocheted patterns and instructional videos. While I haven’t been through the same health issues as you, I definitely understand what it’s like to deal with illness and have good days and bad days. I’m sending prayers for healing for you and hope that you get better quickly! ❤❤❤

Thanks for this great video!! I do see folks use Lithium grease on the Addi but I would not. It is a petroleum product and will weaken plastic. Glad to see you use Silicone .As you can tell by my Avatar, I am a circular machine knitter as well. I started on the Mattel Barbie machines!. I have quite a collection by now. The new Addi has an improved row counter. Mine are electronic like yours and is affected by static in the yarn so unreliable. Glad to see you are feeling a little better ..think of you often. Love to see you guys do things together..
this is good to know, if I ever get an addi machine. I lose things, so does my mom. several years ago before I started using ergonomic hooks, I put my crochet hooks in an old crayola bag that originally had markers in it, both mine & mom's. when I was in the hospital last year she stored it somewhere else & she can't find it. I had several susan bates hooks. I'll be using silicone beads to make regular hooks ergonomic. She'll probably find the bag after I buy new susan bates hooks.

Hi big daddy! Thank you for the lesson on how to take care of my Addi. I have all three sizes. I think there is a problem with the three black keys. When I do around the black keys are clicking. The rest of the keys ride very smooth. HELP! I don't want to send it back. I like to solve this issue myself.

Can you put the first ring and the red ring under running water (warm) to get the dust off?
Thanks. Wipes have oils in them to lotion the skin. Windex on a napkin or soft thin cotton cloth would have been better. Don't spray it on the machine directly! Would be a good time to put a new battery in the counter.
