Lovely art work but what made me choke on my soup was " it's a lady horse or so I think... Really hard to tell these day" 😂
Glad it entertained you 🤝 watch out for those croutons.
Notching out the iron or lowering the iron volume will give a nice clean tone on misshaped and large deep iron. The way to dig less iron is to raise your iron volume high so you can identify the falsing iron tone. I do not mind digging some iron. Digging misshaped iron in a hotspot of nonferrous targets is "COIN FINDING WINNER MODE"
Nice one thanks for your thoughts buddy.
I always use Iron vol at 10, I don't know why 7 is the preset.
hilarious that explanation about the horseshoe. It's been a while since I laughed like that. And as always, thanks for the excellent lesson.
Thanks Dirk, I am so happy it entertained you 👍🤝
Intro is Awesome ! Nothing but FUN👍
Thanks David 👍
Great video. Real world stuff. Here in the States sometimes the only good signals left at the old hammered sites are mixed with iron. Like you said, having a look at those iffy tones can be rewarding. I mostly adjust my digging to my mood and energy levels. Thanks for the video and the great artwork!😂
Thanks Buddy, great info there about how you are feeling 👍
I see our US Ambassador…Merrill…has had a profound impact on your Art Sensibilities. Love your vids!
I was a semi-professional artist in my younger days :)
That is readily apparent, and Merrill being the consummate art teacher has completed your journey to the Art Side…maybe the Far Side? 😊
I think so 😁👍
Thats what I love about your videos Gary really informative with a good old chuckle thrown in ...brilliant.
Glad you enjoyed it Paul, that's what life is all about, I'm sure you guys don't want to watch a branded manakin spouting the user manual.
Thank you, Gary. I really appreciate you teaching us.
BTW... That's the prettiest horse I've ever seen.
Thanks Danny, it's nice to be appreciated.
many thanks that explains every thing ..great video
Thanks for watching
Super helpful video , cheers mate !
No problem 👍 Glad it helped Benj
Nicely explained mate. 👌 Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it.
love your style Gary its likes having a mate explain things
Thanks Mario 👍🤝
Great info Gary, all your vids are helpful and the drawing to explain what a horse shoe is was amazing!! 😂
Thanks Pauline, glad it helped 🤝
Excellent art making Gary you are a natural! In a hundred years it will be in a museum!
🐎
Remember kids....study hard and you will be rewarded :) thanks for watching
Love it Gaz, always somethng to learn from these vids mate... (Funny stuff too! ). Btw: Nice Vicky Shilling yesterday with TEKKNA! Smashing it mate... Thanks 🙏 as ever, Bob 👊
Cool, thanks for the Tekkna info Bob, glad you like the video.
@@The-skillschool 🙏
Very interesting information Gary! Depending where I'm at i like to dig the large iron out of a site just to see if it's making something good. I have definitely found some interesting iron pieces over the years!
Absolutely, thanks for your thoughts, some large Iron is very interesting.
Fantastic watch Gary 👍
Thanks for the visit
Absolutely loved that! I never considered the different types of iron. Love your XP Horse!
Thanks buddy 👍🤝
💥💥💥That's a great horse rendering. Show it to your finds Liaison. Might end up in another part of the museum. Thank you Gary! Lee
Will do great idea Lee
Gracias como siempre gary, hecho de menos tus videos enseñandonos los trucos del deus1.estaria,estaria bien hacer un video sobre profundidades entre en 1&2.fuerte abrazo desde asturias españa❤
Thanks for your thoughts
Brilliant informative video ⭐
Thanks Steve
Haha. Funny AND informative video. Good job.
Thanks my fried, glad it entertained you
Another great video!
I must say though I have made some great iron finds and dig iron allot.
I dig your drawing too 😂
Thanks for dropping by 🤝👍
Gary,i noticed you said some people make the mistake of raising the discrim,,but the TEKKNA is running discrim at 42,and this is a program i'm enjoying using,as i find it lets me know when something is ferrous or non ferrous.
Because the Tekkna is using full tones it's working in a different way, you will never miss small targets with it.
Good one young Gary very interested 😮
Thanks Tim
You should team up with Merrill again! He can help with your drawing skills and you could help him with his detecting technical skills!😁
Good idea 👍
Thanks for vid .
No worries, thanks for watching
Great information, Gary. Your signed horse picture is now national treasure and should be turned over to the King….😎
He can have a copy, but not the original. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant 💯
Thank you 👍
GREAT VIDEO, funny drawing and lovely Dog Metal Detectorist! What more could you ask for?!
Glad you enjoyed it, you are right, in next Fridays video the dog is the star.
@@The-skillschool .... I can not wait! I saw it, that's why I said it... Very nice videos here, short and to the point, full of teachings. Thank you!
Lol great stuff Gary
Thanks Gary 👍
Got my Deus 2 just before everything froze. Love your videos. You sound a bit like Baldrick, can you say, "I've got a cunning plan" in your next video?
Thanks
Awesome video as always Gary. Proper cave man drawing, or that’s missing is a spear haha. I’m afraid iron is a dig it or leave it thing, if I’m not getting many signals then in desperation I often dig the 50-50 signals, only to find it’s iron, still if you don’t dig you don’t discover. Thanks for sharing mate.
Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed it, yes some Iron is really cool to find.
A level art paying off.
Thanks Gary....All those hours of studying has certainly paid off.
Nice one Gary! Great info. You missed your calling.. Watching you draw your hose based masterpiece was better than watching Bob Ross! It should be in the National Gallery
Wow, thank you Neil, perhaps I missed my calling and should have gone for a TV art carrier, rather than scratching around in a field looking for pieces of junk.
@@The-skillschool mate!! you don't find the junk, that is MY job! Shotties & buttons! :)
Looking forward to the dog training video. Hope it will work with two giddy cockers.
One at a time 👍
i dig every thing run the coil slow before vdi low to the ground so dont miss any thing deep cause digging hole today still have not found it yet just cant beleave the nokta leagion at 12 inchs runing m3 40 khz could be probably old pipe or coins in a jar since it is a old house from 1890 will see after digging that hole needed nap for 20 min
Dig everything - miss nothing
I just enjoy the hobby so digging a few pieces of iron don't bother me just being outside is therapy to me. BTW beautiful Shepard
Thanks, if you.like Shepherds watch out for next weeks video.
love your british sense of humour
Thank you 😁👍
Thanks for the informative video. I'm still a newbie and have struggled with this issue using my Minelab Vanquish 440. Some days, the signal jumps all over the place with low grunts and high squeals over the same patch of earth. Those kind of signals drive me nuts and it's often a struggle to know if it's worthwhile digging. I change the settings to jewellery mode to try and knock out any iron, but when i open it back up, sure enough the high pitched noises are discovered to be masking the iron grunts. Of course, they could be a silver coin lying next to a nail, but it's very frustrating. The Deus seems to separate the metal types more easily?
Thanks Russell, yes the Deus does a good job, I would suggest try to run in all metal with and Iron tone.
Then judge the target size by lifting the coil while sweeping over a target. If you can still get it at 1ft, its probably not going to be a coin.
Many thanks for the advice!
The Banksy of the metal detecting world! 🐎 🐴
Pronounced with a silent "W", I should imagine
Haha Luna likes to roll in the fox shite 😂 German Shepherd master trait 🤣
I always get a few bits of iron, sometimes you have to risk it. Great informative video mate and top notch artistry 🐴
Cheers mate, keep an eye out for next weeks video, it is all about GSD's and detecting
I think I can decipher iron tones on the beach better using PWM ...your thoughts
I think it's personal preference, the tones can change a lot between HSq and PWM.
PWM is more of a raw sound.
Hi Gary. What software version are you running in your Deus 2? I just bought a Deus 2 and it has version 6 in it. Thinking about updating the software and was curious what version you prefer.
I personally prefer 1.1 or 2.0
That horse piccie needs framing and handing to the Tate! Outstanding work sir! 😎🖖
Thank you sir, I will post below an e mail if anyone wants a copy.
Trust me Gary ,Merrells could help you with your drawings .
Great info thank you very much and cheers!
Yes you are right, Merrill's work is awesome.
Kudos to Merrell he needs to do an XP promo drawing, hes that good!@@The-skillschool
The drawing is epic!!!! Please frame it!!!
I will if you want a copy drop me an e mail, which is in the description.
Bonsoir Gary, le plus souvent ce sont les ferreux profond qui sonnent bien et en creusant, le son devient grave.. mais il est difficile de savoir avant de creuser, des fois en baissant la réactivité le son devient grave.. merci Alex et toch
Thanks Alex and Toch, it's always good to hear from you.👍🤝
I would happily make that exquisite piece of art my computer background should it find its way on to the internet!
E mail me, link in the description.
Hey Gary, I've just got the new Deus 11 & the wsa11. Well now what's your tutorial? It said when you turn off the remote the headphones as well as the coil turns off well. The coil turns off but the light on the WSA 11 stays flashing every 5 seconds. I went into the system. It is on auto. What must I do? I don't want the battery going flat so when I go to use it I've got no headphones. Please advise. Thanks Also on the Deus 1 which I have is my backup. I could change from horseshoe to XY and as your instructions noted, you do not have to save it. It would automatically save. I like using the XY system now. I've gone into settings on the Deus 11 and done the same thing but it's not saving. Every time I turn the remote off it loses that XY program and defaults to the horseshoe. Is that correct? Should that be doing that. Is there something I can do to make it default as I could do with the? Deus 1 please.
The lights flash ...always, the unit(s) are constantly on standby.
If you make adjustments save as new program.
What’s that vest your wearing sir?
It's a fly fishing vest John.
What discrim setting would you use bearing in mind the iron does sound off as iron below your discrimination setting. I think 🤔
I think rejecting a small nail would be enough for most site, (6.4 - 6.8) if you are using an XP in factory dettings, also having an Iron tone really helps. If it is a Deus 2 with the Tekkna program discrimination at 42 will give good information.
@metal_detecting thanks, that confirms my thoughts, I run both Deus 1 and Deus 2 at 6.4
XP Picasso!
Thanks 😁
Lady horse...😊👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for watching 👍
Likes bro 👊👍
Thanks man
Love the drawing, I had a pen like that when I was in school. Gary I would love to have a copy of that. My email is on my about page. I normally don't dig much iron, so that is cool I must be doing something right LOL. Great info as always. Thanks for sharing. You help make my hunts more knowledgeable.
Got it! will send it soon
8:33 That’s a bit of iron there.
Thanks
Bob Ross would be proud of this that!!
I'm honoured to be put in the same league as the great man 😁👍
There's that golden horseshoe . . . . . .lol
Thanks Benn
Did you win the under 5s for drawing gary😅
Steady in sir, I am quite proud of that piece of art.
@@The-skillschool you must have been on some very good gear to do that
Z xp Deus 2 kopie znacznie więcej żelaza niż z xp Deus 1 . Xp Deus jeden nie zatrzymywał mnie na żelazie :) był jak ak47 . Żałuje że się go pozbyłem i kupiłem xp Deus 2
Try the Tekkna on version 1.1 or 2.0, it closely replicates the Deus 1
x,y screen helps me
Thank you for sharing knowledge 👍🕳️👨🏽🦯🌲
You are very welcome
Has missy not found silver yet? 😜
No not yet
I could tell right off that was a lady horse, but you're right Gary, nowadays you really can't tell what she might think she is.
Shall we just say it identifies as a lady horse and then we are covered.
🎉
Thanks
ILL TAKE A COPY OF THE HORSES ASS !! THATS HOW I FEEL WHEN I GET FOOLED ON A PICES OF IRON. but as we all know
it happens to the best of us. Crack on Mate!
Great stuff thanks Robert
Very informative, shame about the distracting music while you are talking :-(
Thanks for your support
I was cringing as you started down the path of the lady horse, but I was needlessly worried. You clarified your equine gendering in alignment with DEI guidelines... 🤣
Thanks my friend....Oh what a lovely world we live in
😂@@The-skillschool
