Welcome to the church that worships ice… ICE CHURCH! In this video, I am back in Colorado to experience an event called Ice Church. Ice Church is a weekly gathering that happens every Sunday in Boulder, Colorado where the community practices the Wim Hof Method together, starting with breathwork and then cold plunges in the ice baths.
Although Ice Church actually has no religious connotation and is not a real church, Ice Church go-ers like to think of this event as an alternative to attending church on Sundays, and something that provides community and a spiritual experience via the breathwork and ice baths.
Justin Weiss is the creator and leader of Ice Church and started his own journey with the Wim Hof Method during a 5-year battle with chronic pain disease fibromyalgia. After trying everything, nothing seemed to work for him except breathwork, cold therapy, and the Wim Hof Method. Eventually, he trained with the Iceman himself and became a certified Wim Hof Method instructor. He then started gathering with his friends on Sunday to do cold plunges in the ice baths while his roommate was at church, so his friends started calling it Ice Church as a joke and it stuck!

I’m from Finland and ice bathing has been a part on my culture for thousands of years 😁 It is the medicine that helped my ancestors to survive the cold dark winter and keep healthy. I’m happy that the ice medicine is nowadays helping people around the world 🙏🏼

I love the addition of roses to the ice bath. It sets a very romantic comforting tone. Bringing an extra level to it. Like when you put flowers in a bath for yourself, it sets a tone.
While watching people emerge from the water and just radiate such a vibrant expression of being alive really made me emotional. This really symbolizes our strength in moments of discomfort in the grand scheme of things. I love cold therapy and appreciate this video so much! Thanks for always creating beautiful content.

This is so incredible. Can we talk about how Justin said the ice baths brought him to see the wholeness and ultimately change him from an atheist? What an insight! That is so beautiful!
I am atheist and being one doesn't mean we don't believe that there was a god or gods, I just don't consider any being to be the god, a god is just abstract idea. The beings who did some stuff in the past which appeared as miracles were just smarter or had better technology- that's it, with current technology we could be the gods for medieval people. When you stress your body with ice, you can discover a lot of things same goes for meditation. The most important thing is to be open minded - which may be hard for hardcore believers. I love the cold it's so refreshing and with meditation you can truly let go of everything and feel/be everything, this stuff lets you to be connected and detached at the same stuff on multiple layers.

LETS GO ICE BATH 🧘♀️✨🙏🤍
I had my first icebath the other day, -15 outside and in the river I went… I stayed in for 45 seconds, then got out but needed to walk through the snow twice. A few seconds later it felt like my hands and tows where literally frozen. I started putting my hand to my body heat, the next 3 minutes I was in so much pain, as if like came back in my fingers. When I returned in my room I did the same with my toes and went through the same pain. The rest of the day, the tops hurted still but luckily the next day not anymore.
This was a lesson for me to be prepared, something to stand on, easy to put on and listening to my body. I want to try it again, but another location this time!!
I’ve been riding my e bike around in - 30* weather the last two days and next two.
I was using breathing practices to help gyms through it and it helps when you can LOCK into it your body calms

A part of me would really love to do this 😁 I occasionally do cold showers for 10-30 seconds, not quite the same as an ice bath but I feel good afterwards.

By the way, Charles (a former acquaintance) suggested that maybe those who make Ice bathing constantly within some indetermined amount of years they will have to use razor blades 😂😂 but probably (if this is true) it has a long way to go until it became real.
All joking aside, it's amazing seeing so many people healing and strengthen themselves. This makes you feel alive.
For those of us living in the north near a body of water: I recently started a winter ice swimming/bathing group that meets up weekly and takes dips in the lake. Having the community aspect like in the video is so nice, especially when the temperature is below freezing and you're trying to stay warm afterwards. We don't have nice weather or a sauna but some hot tea does wonders! I've found that a lot of people are curious about ice bathing and that I can consistently bring in new folks to try it, in addition to the regulars. It's one of my favorite parts of the week and I encourage anyone reading to start a group in your community. Thanks for the video Sky!

Before I even knew that any of this was a thing, I used to go and meditate by the frozen lake, shirtless in the -10⁰ chill. Conquering that cold always showed me that we're so much stronger than we've learned. It really was a life altering time. Thanks for sharing your stories about cold exposure.

I recently started watching your videos and they are all so amazing and informative, for this one, I suffer with fibromyalgia myself and chronic pain. I have not tried ice baths or cold therapy and this is something I will need to try. I see in the videos how just a person's energy can increase from these. There's a lot of methods I need to try from your videos. I feel maybe cause I'm in pain and overweight I can't, and I hate that word saying I can't, I need to stop saying that and just do. Wish I had someone in my life like you as a friend to help me along, but these videos are very helpful tool right now! Thank you!

@@ryandlion6961 I have the truth, it is mainly iodine that calcifies the pineal gland. So iodized salt, seaweed/kelp, eggs, seafood and dairy should definitely be avoided. Coke and meat/vienna sausages work great to decalcify the pineal, also lead lol spread it to the good people. ☮
@@truthseek3017 maybey we don't really want to decalcify the pineal gland it is a crystal like substance and it's partly made out of calcium. That's funny that right when you discover that iodine is bad I just been getting into the benefits got some kelp, was going to order iodine, I really am your demon that's wild. Iodised salt isn't good tho, either sea salt or redmons real salt,you hear so much about Himalayan and that does come from inner earth so there's some power to that, but I haven't done one I trust yet,Probably eighty nine percent America is deficient in iodine it keeps cancer away from all of your glands. And dude coke? Really that be some genius brain trickery if that was the case. You never know tho. But I'm ok doing it the hard way, from my research rat fish or skate liver oil is supposed to be really good to "decalcify" the pineal gland whatever it does people get vivid dreams and dreams are where it's at. And it's got the second highest amount of vitamin a retinol in it, plus good amounts of vit k2 and d! The people where there isn't much sun in the world could really utilize fish liver oil like Norway where the lowest amounts of vit d can be found and incidentally one of the highest rates of skin cancer look at there! So it's not the sun itself giving people skin cancer, it's the poison they put on their skin and gets absorbed by the sun. Ironically enough, it was those very people the Norwegians and scandanvian vikings that would take fish livers and cook them in between birch bark trees and let the oil drip through the middle and drank that during the winter. It also kept them warm, like a Certain adaptogen herb they liked and the Russians utilize to this day in some places, rhodiola, which I can attest to it keeping you warm in the cold, I didn't use a heater once this winter, I'm bout to get back into cold showers again too.

In japan we have hotspring centre's which include ice baths and saunas as well. These centre's are accessible and cheap for everyone, being japanese living abroad I've always thought it would be nice to have affordable centre's like such to relieve pain and stress.

I have fibromyalgia 😢 and it’s so painful. I have tried everything and I have taken cold showers and feel better after. I wish there was a ice church in NC
Have you tried the breathwork? And definitely try getting in the ice bath! A lot more powerful than the shower
You can do ice bath by Yourself. Wim Hoff has extremely good tutorials and You canuse the bathtub You have at home ( hopfuly You have it💪) and fill with a cold water. Start to add some ice step by step.
That’s how I started.
