Bringing home a 1927 Model T Ford Coupe!

  • Hey everyone! I hope you guys like this 1927 Model T coupe that my friend Matt found for me... I mentioned to him that I wanted a "tall T" in all-original condition, and did he ever find the right one!
She's a barn-stored, one-family owned car, stored since the late 40s, according to the info I got from the gentleman that sold me the car. He bought some T's at a farm auction in Saskatchewan last year, and was just going to use the rougher ones to make a T racer, and agreed to sell me this sweetie!
I never thought I'd find such a nice untouched one at an affordable price, so I am just thrilled with it. Plans are to make it run well enough to putt around the yard, and eventually go through the mechanicals and restore the interior so it can be driven as much as possible!
Meanwhile, I am not stopping on the 60 Fury, and the SM still needs finishing, so after the T is running, I'll be storing it til a couple of the others are sorted...

For a Canadian T, this is amazingly well... kept? This thing must have been rarely driven. I know you said it was parked after WWII... but, it really _looks_ like it was parked well before then. You got a keeper there, Scott! I'm curious about the 4-banger under the hood. We didn't see that... but, I know you're saving the good stuff! Something tells me, after a 'lil maintenance, she'll fire right up! This Lizzie's a sweet bitch!

I had to come back to this video to see when you got the model T. And I gotta say no one is more positive or happy than Dean. He’s basically a Labrador in human form in all the good ways. That guy doesn’t have a gray cloud anywhere in his universe. It’s real rare to have a friend like that and I’m not saying you should but it sure would be nice to have an episode of just Dean being happy and positive.

The window glass is dangerous in those cars. It's Crystal glass, if broken it breaks into sharp shards. In the Model-T clubs it's required to change all glass to safety glass, and they don't knock off points for not being original. At least you'll have a safety glass windshield. Keep up the great work.

    Holy cow!!!!
There's no way you could ever ask for a better original project car - almost completely untouched, solid and tells stories, like with the homemade fender repairs and a even a period battery. Honestly, as is, this T is damn near a reference car - like, I never once knew until this video that the T's were available with a tire inflator that was powered by plugging it into one of the spark plug housings. Air from engine compression - that's bordering on genius.
Wow - what a pleasure seeing such an untouched, untainted car. Sure, they made more than 15 million T's during their 19 year run from 1908-1927, but it's still breathaking to see such a pristine 92 year old car like this.

There is virtually no rust in it. I want to see it running and then i want to see you drive it because the accelerator isn't the accelerator, the brake isn't the brake and the clutch, it aint a clutch. Have fun. I just love the windscreen wiper. i have a rare vw truck (type200) and i thought it was basic as it had a 2 speed wiper motor with only one blade. The old ford doesn't have a wiper motor, just a wiper handle and a blade. LOL I love the simplicity. I like the old green buick by the workshop door.

    DEAN TAURUS GL!
I've already done my raving and drooling over on Patreon on the Tall T, but man, just can't stop grinning about it. What a ridiculously awesome project. The originality of it is simply amazing and what would make it so appealing to me also, just like you guys.
Drives me nuts to see the usual customizations, slammings, later model comforts being done to old rides...
It's why old cars "do it" for me, after all - at their core, it's the ability to peer back in time through their prisms.
Damn...did I just get deep or something there?

I remember seeing one of these holding up traffic on the expressway in Chicago. Yes, someone had one of these on the expressway! Crazy right? But I'll admit, best reason to have traffic I've ever seen!

Wow. That is one nice ride. The more I watched your video, the more I liked the car. I just love that old stuff. It would be cool if it did run without anything major done to it. Thanks for sharing.

What a nice T. That transmission absolutely befuddles me. It's Dean! Been missing his commentary and the particular flavor he adds to your videos. :)

Now... _that's_ a goddamned barn find. Amazing car, my friend. When legends are told of "keepers," this is the type of find "they" are speaking of. Very nice. Very, _very_ nice!

That is an awesome 27 T! I have a 26 "Fordor" sedan I bought in Minnesota 24 years ago. Check under the seats--the sedan has a tool storage area there, maybe you will find the original tool roll hiding. I loved the cigarette box resto!

What a find, won't take much to get her going in the end, and as you say, leave her pretty much in that condition. She'll be a show stopper.

Could not think of a better person to get this project, can't wait for a first start. Glad to hear you say no paint, just needs a clear coat. Can't believe this was still out there in this condition, amazing. Can't wait to see you and the agents working on this. Restoration of vehicles and dart boxes, can't wait to see what you guys restore next lol. Go Scott Go.

YES! So happy for you! Can we have a tyre report on this one?
It's staggering to see vehicles 50 years old in as nice condition but that's double 100 years old.
