That USC defense was loaded. Clay Matthews, Brian Cushing, Ray Maueluga, Jurell Casey, Everson Griffen, Taylor Mays and others. It's why they had the #1 defense that year.
Man, I watched this game with 10 buddies (4 SC alum that are actually cool), hammered at one of their houses. Was awesome. Mauluaga, Cushing, Maiva and Matthews. Has to be best LB corp in college history. They had Keith Rivers instead of Maiva the year before lol
@@pinchevulpes Absolutely. That Florida team was not as good as the one that won 2 years before. As for OU, you knew what happened to them at the orange bowl in 04. Lol!!!!!
It's 2023 time flies. I remember watching this as a kid with my family and...wasn't too fun...I must say being an OSU fan. But..2008 gators vs 2008 USC that defense. Vs Tim Tebow. I'd pick usc all day.

That USC team was one of Pete Carroll's best, too bad they fell asleep at the wheel against Oregon St on Thursday night. This team should have played for the Natty, and would have if there was a playoff back then!
@@chrisuncleahmad666 Thursday night ON THE ROAD. Hostile Environment. Where as Florida Gayturds lost in their own house in front of their home crowd lol.

That team should've won the National Championship that year. That Oregon State loss hurt their ranking in the BCS. If they played Florida or Oklahoma, USC would have destroyed them both
Those USC Teams under Pete Carroll, I don’t think ever fully got the respect they deserved. One because they played on the West coast, so most of their games were late and two because the Pac-10 at the time wasn’t the strongest at the time, outside a few teams. Those USC Teams had athletes and the ‘08 USC defense might be one of the most underrated defenses of all time.
Nah cause we were by far the best team in the nation still. The same way they let the SEC in the playoffs without winning their conference is what should have happened here.
Not one time during the Pete era did the BCSEC allow any top tier sec team to play USC whether in ooc play or bowl season. Florida would’ve gotten smashed in the NCG against this SC squad no doubt. This game was a memorial of the Oklahoma Orange Bowl in ‘04 😂😂😂
It actually happened 4 times: 2002 and 2003 USC vs Auburn. 2005 and 2006 USC vs Arkansas. All were USC wins, including 2 road wins. Carroll was 4-0 vs the SEC during his tenure.
Those were the days, my friend. Hoping we'll be back soon with coach Lincoln Riley.
Riley never fielded a defense even remotely as good as this USC defense.
@@boneheadjunkies7379 He will at USC....Riley is young and still learning and at SC he will get better athletes then at OU.
We will no doubt! We back

we are slowly getting there brotha

Damn, USC looked like they could’ve scored 50 on Ohio State if they wanted to!
But dropped an egg the following week against the other OSU (Oregon State).

Jeremy Maclins stats at Missouri were showcased in the bottom. He had 6 catches 173 yards and 3 touchdowns. 🔥
Damn this was such an underrated team that got robbed of a national championship. How many big NFL names were on this team?
24 draft picks played in this game for USC. Twenty-four.
💯
At LBer alone you had Rey Maualuga, Clay Mathews and Brian Cushing.

They sure did. Moving to the big10 will eventually catapult the program back to where it belongs. At the top

Middle Linebacker, #33 For Ohio State, was the Son of Road Warrior Animal, James Laurenitis. Dad was Joe, real name.
