Hi @VulcanGunner! I get where you're coming from, but every city has its pros and cons. While there are challenges, Chicago also has a lot of opportunities and unique aspects that make it special. It’s all about finding a balance!
I was born in Chicago lived in a neighborhood called Albany Park. Moved to Skokie a suburb of Chicago until I was 21 and then moved back to a neighborhood of Chicago called Rogers Park. Moved to Belmont Harbor a neighborhood of Chicago and then lived in Lincoln Park also a neighborhood of Chicago. When my son was born we moved to a Chicago suburb, Glenview. Every hour of my life was in Chicago or a suburb of Chicago. And I love every second of my life in Chicago!
I left Chicago 56 years ago, came back in 2024. Chicago looked great! But… I seen and lived in other places in the world. I’ll visit Chicago, but will never live there again.
Hi @wandak1889! Great question! A lot of times, these projects are funded through a mix of taxes, bonds, or federal/state grants. It can definitely be a bit confusing to track where it all comes from! Thanks for bringing that up!
The redline moves people from as far north as Sheridan all the way down to 95th, so a better way to say it would be that its a line that runs north and south thru the city
Hi @TheOneandOnlyD-R-E! You’re absolutely right, it’s definitely a north-south line through the city. Thanks for pointing that out! Always good to clarify the details.
Nobody's going to ride that red line with all the trouble that they've had,too many people have been impacted by crime,if they don't improve Security on the Red line, this well meaning improvement will fail,
Hi @latinman9791! You’ve got a solid point, security is key, especially when it comes to public transit. Without addressing safety, even the best improvements can fall short. Hopefully, they take that into consideration moving forward!
Hi @tonywestmoreland9016! Sounds like you've really explored a lot of Chicago! It's such a vibrant city with so many unique neighborhoods. Do you have a favorite spot or area you've enjoyed the most?
I understand your frustration, many people feel that way, especially when considering the cost of living and taxes. As a realtor, I’ve seen firsthand how many people are making moves to states with lower taxes and more affordable living. If you ever decide to make a change or just want to explore other areas, I’d be happy to help you find a place that better fits your needs and lifestyle.
Don't live in Chicago, but it is good to know what is happening there. I live down state in Illinois. Good to see Illegals are cared for more than the rest of the State. Which doesn't solve the high taxes and population decline due to high taxes. As well as corruption.
I hear you, and it’s a sentiment that many share. While Chicago and Illinois as a whole have their challenges, they also have a lot of potential. There's still a lot of great areas to invest in and some exciting developments happening. If you ever consider looking for opportunities here or elsewhere in the state, I'd be happy to help you explore options that could work for you!
I have lived on the South Side of Chicago in the Roseland Pulliman Area and they have Promised to Do this for the lasted 30 years and People Such as Sentor Meeks Who made Promise to help start the project Got Money for the Republican Passed Governor and He Didn't do NOTHING
It’s frustrating when promises are made and nothing comes to fruition, especially in areas that need investment and development. It’s important for leaders to follow through, and I hope the community gets the attention and support it deserves moving forward. Everyone deserves a chance to see real improvements!
Born and raised in the burbs of Chicago. My Moms family immigrated here in the late 1700’s from Germany. We have had family buried in Bensenville from those original settlers!
Hi @troy9er! That’s awesome, what a rich history your family has in the area! Bensenville has some deep roots for sure. Must be cool to see that legacy in your family’s connection to the city!
II don't understand what O.S.I is actually supposed to do. Are they planning on shipping the immigrants to the South Suburbs because, housing may be cheaper? As if we don't have enough issues of our own down here already. And, exactly which South Suburban cities are we talking about?
Hi @chrystallee5528! That’s a good question, sounds like there are a lot of concerns on this front. It would be interesting to see how the city plans to handle housing and immigration, especially with challenges facing the South Suburbs. Hopefully, we get more clarity soon! Thanks for asking!
Chicago still offers great opportunities, especially with its rich culture and growing industries. Many areas are seeing revitalization, and for those looking to invest or find a new home, it can be a great time to buy with some excellent deals available. If you’re considering your options, feel free to reach out. I can help guide you through the process!
It takes all of us Chicagoans to make it a better place to live, which means we have to become a Chicago that is inclusive and welcoming to all cultures and the strengths and beauty of them! WE CAN DO THIS CHICAGO!………❤

Hi @11loukis! You raise a good point, if the population keeps shrinking, those improvements might not get the full benefit. It’ll be interesting to see how the state adjusts to that challenge.
Chicago is the fourth largest city in the USA and it’s a great city to live. There is always things that happen in the largest cities in the world. But I rather live in Chicago than any other city.
As the fourth largest city in the United States Chicago is known for higher property tax. But each individual should be hiring a real estate broker to help them with purchasing properties at a fair price. That's what I do!

Hi @musicsansnotes! I totally get the skepticism, it can feel like “affordable housing” sometimes isn’t all that affordable. Let me know if you ever want to chat about some real opportunities! 😊
Red line, yes 6 billion to get more crime into downtown on summer nights. And from property taxes instead of CTA and Feds. What a waste of money when ridership has dropped off a cliff due to crime.
Hi Noel! I get your frustration, safety concerns definitely impact ridership. It’s a tough balance between investing in infrastructure and addressing crime. Hopefully, future improvements can focus on both security and making the Red Line more attractive to riders. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Bringing the red line south is great for the people who live in that area. How do you think changes. Pick up the book the Mayflower and checkout people who came to North America in the 1600. What would it be like if it wasn’t for those brave souls. You were handed a silver spoon, what have you done to make the world better?
“The south side is not for people who would want to move to Chicago” except for the thousands of people who live on the south side of Chicago… Do you write this stuff down before you post?
Hi @georgeblackwell2306! You’re absolutely right, there are many great people and communities on the South Side! I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. Thanks for pointing that out, and I’ll definitely be more mindful in the future! Appreciate your feedback! 😊
I believe it extends the L line further south and that's a good thing. If your unhappy with the move have you ever attend a meeting with the alderman and give your opinion. Sometimes you do have a voice!
Hi @davidmontville4885! That’s a great point-O'Hare redevelopment is a huge project and definitely worth mentioning. It’s such a major part of the city’s growth. Thanks for bringing that up!
We never go East of Midway Airport. We never take the Cicero Exit off the Stevenson to get to the airport. Why do you think that is? We only exit on Central to 55th Street. Park the car in Airport parking and fly away. I grew up in Chicago also. This is our only interaction I want with this city. Between the crime and excessive cost of every single thing involved with a Chicago visit, nope, not doing that. Never.
Hi @byrnc927! Totally get where you’re coming from. Chicago can be a mixed bag for sure great in some ways, but challenging in others. At least you’ve got your airport routine down to a science! Appreciate you sharing your experience!
Hi @stephenwhite546! Haha, I see what you mean, there’s a lot to explore south of 95th! The Red Line improvements will definitely make it easier to get around. Hope you get to enjoy the ride soon!
Hi @JJBLO65786 I understand your concerns-every city has its challenges. What would make you feel more comfortable in a place like Chicago, or do you have another city in mind that you'd consider moving to?
@@livinginchicago88 when the democrats stop attacking and slandering any Republican that tries to run for mayor of chicago and the majority of the mindless stop voting democrat! The breaks have been put on the red line project. Those housing units they want to create for the homeless are not for United States citizens in chicago, they are for the illegal immigrants! This pritzker loving democrat doing this video evidently doesn't know about any of his idol pritzkers new laws, but then again, he doesn't know that the United center is in the middle of chicagp! Pritzker passed a law at the beginning of 2024 making it illegal for a rental property owner to refuse to rent to an illegal. pritzker also passed a law making it legal for noncitizens to become police officers! An illegal is classified as a noncitizen if he or she has been in the United States for a year. What has pritzker or johnson done for the homeless veterans or any other homeless United States citizen? How many of those homeless citizens has pritzker housed in his chicago mansion?. Pritzkers' chicago mansion where he had a plumber that has been awarded many illinois Capital Development Board contracts remove six toilets from his chicago mansion and declared it uninhabitable to avoid paying his required fair share of county real estate tax. Well multi billionaire pritzker got caught and had to pay the taxes he tried to steal from cook county and its' tax payers! And this dedicated democrat thinks pritzker is a great govenor! The govenor that is going to defy the President of the United States and ICE if they try to deport dangerous illegals from Illinois using tax payers money to fight for them in court!
A Lot of People Left Chicago due to being taxed out the City and the Housing market is Crazy Over Priced I saw a Guy trying to sell Property in Beverly Neighborhood for 579 and the property wasn't Worthy that
You're right, the housing market has definitely been challenging, and taxes can be a heavy burden for many. However, there are still opportunities in Chicago if you're looking to make the right investment. The market is evolving, and sometimes it's about finding the right deal at the right time!
😂🤣 how about we get our debt under control before we blow more money on pork. Remember everyone, that 95th street TRAIN STOP remodel cost us 280 million dollars 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. The new Zurich building in Schaumburg that employees thousands of people only cost them 350 million to build from the ground up. 😂🤣. Crooked Chicago politicians
Hi @sicilianr1! 😂 You’re not wrong some of these costs can really make you scratch your head. Chicago politics definitely keep things...interesting! Appreciate you pointing that out!
I understand that there are strong opinions about the Red Line expansion, but the goal of these developments is to improve connectivity and accessibility for everyone. As a real estate professional, I can tell you that better transit options often bring long-term value to neighborhoods, enhancing opportunities for residents and businesses alike. If you’d like to discuss the potential benefits or share your thoughts further, feel free to reach out!
@livinginchicago88 have you ever walked or even been at the last stop south on the redline? 95th and State I would definitely encourage you to walk through and make a video.
Hi @Jessen81! Hopefully, #3 brings some positive change! The homeless situation on the CTA is a big challenge, and it would be great to see some real solutions put into place. Fingers crossed!
Hi @gallagherscott11! Oh no, that's tough for your brother. Chicago can be a wild ride sometimes. Maybe a change in approach or some networking could help him catch a break? Let me know if I can offer any tips!
As a huge Bear fan, it is disappointing watching them. The Halas family doesn't seem to know how to hire a G.M. Or coaches. We need to be drafting and trading for lineman.
Hi @jayevans6077! That’s a great point, there’s always two sides to the story. Plenty of people move in for the opportunities and culture Chicago has to offer. It’s an amazing city in so many ways!
Hi @kb-un9db! I hear you, there's definitely a lot of areas that could use some attention. Chicago has its challenges, but there’s also a lot of potential. Hopefully, things start improving soon!
Hi @jeffreysmith85! It’s a bummer when key stops are left out, especially in areas like Madison. Hopefully, future plans can address that! Thanks for pointing it out!

Why wasn’t the United Center once in a so called “not so good neighborhood”? What characteristics “not so good” neighborhoods?
Great question! When the United Center was built, it was indeed located in what was considered an underdeveloped area, but since then, the neighborhood has undergone significant transformation. "Not so good" neighborhoods are often characterized by factors like lower property values, lack of amenities, or lower demand for housing. However, over time, development, investment, and revitalization projects can completely change the landscape of an area. As a realtor in Chicago, I’ve seen firsthand how neighborhoods evolve, and it’s amazing to see the potential in areas that were once overlooked. If you're curious about areas in Chicago experiencing similar growth, feel free to reach out, I’d be happy to discuss!
The south side will get a lot worse. Looks like the line will run west at 99 th street to around107th, than cross neighborhoods to get southeast. That's a horrible look for the Southside.
Hi @zzzddd7! I see your concern urban development can definitely have mixed impacts, especially on communities already facing challenges. Hopefully, the changes will bring improvements, but it’s always good to keep an eye on how things unfold. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
The far west suburbs definitely offer a different vibe, more space, often quieter, and great for families looking for a suburban lifestyle. But for those who enjoy the hustle and bustle, Chicago still has a lot to offer. It's all about finding what works best for your lifestyle!
Immigrants have always been coming to America. How do you think this country was started. I’m reading a book about the Mayflower that came here in the beginning of the 1600’s. The pilgrims came from England and 1/2 died on their way here. Where would we be living if the people before us didn’t come to this country. We are all the same no matter where our ancestors came from.
I have lived in many different areas. As time went by most neighborhoods were gentrified. Albany Park is a very good area. Lincoln Park rates near the top. Close to everything and its very safe
I’ve live (rent) in Albany Park and I absolutely love this neighborhood! I lived one year away in a different neighborhood back in 2020, and that was Edge Water, which I did not like at all. I moved back to Albany Park as soon as I had a chance. Albany Park is growing with more great little shops and restaurants popping up of recent. Very exciting! It has been one of the safest and most affordable neighborhoods that I’ve found here in Chicago. I’m near the Brown line making commute super easy and it’s also a quick public transit ride to O’hare airport as well via bus ride then to Blue Line transit. Got the river nearby with parks. It really is a beautiful, cozy area that is multi cultural and provides all your basic needs😊
I appreciate your feedback! While I may not know everything, I'm always open to learning more and having thoughtful conversations about the city. If there's anything you'd like to share or clarify, I'm all ears! 😊
I understand where you're coming from, but as a local real estate professional, my goal is always to help people find the best fit for their needs, whether that's in the city or the suburbs. If you ever want to chat about your options or have any questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!
Sir- I understand you’re trying to make an informative nice video, but you were not being truthful about certain things. Where do you think the extra 3 billion for this project is going to come from? Oh I know, from Mr. Brandon “I won’t raise property taxes” Johnson who is trying to raise already sky high property taxes. You are trying to bring people here, do you have any idea how many of us are trying to get out of here because it is such a crap hole from crooked politicians at this point? I would never help anybody move here, sorry. Just stating the truth. The city does have many many good qualities, but when people can’t live here comfortably and safely and trust that their leaders are working for their best interest what does any of the good qualities mean? Absolutely nothing. The second we can leave, we are out of here.
Thank you for sharing your perspective, Viktorias. I can definitely understand how you feel about the challenges the city faces, and it’s clear that many Chicagoans are frustrated with the current state of affairs. While there are definitely hurdles, it’s also important to recognize that Chicago has made significant strides in certain areas, and many of us are hopeful for continued improvements. As a realtor, my goal is to help people find the best fit for their lifestyle, whether that’s staying in Chicago or looking elsewhere. Every city has its challenges, but there are still many wonderful opportunities here for those who are willing to navigate through them. If you ever decide to consider new opportunities in real estate, I’d be happy to assist in any way I can.
While downtown Chicago has seen its ups and downs, there's still a lot to love about the city. Many areas are revitalizing, and new businesses are popping up, making it a great time for those who want to invest or live in the city. Yes, the commute can be challenging, but there are always opportunities to find a solution that works for you. And as for the governor, it's all about staying engaged and making your voice heard!
To many perspectives from white folks who I’m sure don’t know a thing about the south side or the people who live there just what they see and hear on the news or someone’s opinion
You're right that understanding a community requires more than just news headlines or hearsay. I think it's important to listen to those who live and work in the area to get a full perspective. It's a conversation that needs to be inclusive of all voices.
Hi @11loukis! It's definitely a lot to consider, especially with changes happening while people are moving in and out. It’ll be interesting to see how the city adapts! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊

This is about moving to Wisconsin or Indiana? :)
The Chicago Alderman voted to lengthen the Red Line. Making the south area residents able to get to downtown Chicago to work.
My five list.
1. More taxes
2. More fees
3. More crime
4. More expensive
5. More homeless
Lol if you think Chicago is bad. Try Los Ángeles or New York. Chicago is a walk in the park and a lot cheaper.

Sorry you feel that way but its not a town for everyone
It's not a town for anyone.
I agree Sam there are more black folks in the area. My goal was to reach the people who live in that area
The mayor or the governor hasn't asked me about immigration. At this point I don't have a clue how this will be handled.
I was born in Chicago and have lived here my entire life

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching 👍
Shouldn't the O'Hare redevelopment project have been included?

This guy has never been south of 95st . Looking forward to be able to take the red line to the gardens
Or buy gasoline in Englewood at 2 am on a Saturday morning.
@@Hugh_Manitee2 am is the morning not night 🤦🏽♂️
Hi @stephenwhite546! Haha, I see what you mean, there’s a lot to explore south of 95th! The Red Line improvements will definitely make it easier to get around. Hope you get to enjoy the ride soon!

Hi @JJBLO65786 I understand your concerns-every city has its challenges. What would make you feel more comfortable in a place like Chicago, or do you have another city in mind that you'd consider moving to?
Gosh, living in fear. SMH
Well multi billionaire pritzker got caught and had to pay the taxes
he tried to steal from cook county and its' tax payers!

This guy doesnt know how bad bringing the red line south is.
I understand that there are strong opinions about the Red Line expansion, but the goal of these developments is to improve connectivity and accessibility for everyone. As a real estate professional, I can tell you that better transit options often bring long-term value to neighborhoods, enhancing opportunities for residents and businesses alike. When are you gonna fix the bears problems? Are u gonna sell the team?
As a huge Bear fan, it is disappointing watching them. The Halas family doesn't seem to know how to hire a G.M. Or coaches. We need to be drafting and trading for lineman.
I would like to see the Bears sell the team to an owner that knows football.
They always tell you how people are leaving Chicago but they never tell you about the people who move in.
Hi @jayevans6077! That’s a great point, there’s always two sides to the story. Plenty of people move in for the opportunities and culture Chicago has to offer. It’s an amazing city in so many ways!
Net, more are leaving.
That’s because there’s nobody moving in. Look at the numbers.
They need to remodel the whole damn city of Chicago goddamn wasteland

I like your sense of optimism.
Hi @zzzddd7! I see your concern urban development can definitely have mixed impacts, especially on communities already facing challenges. Hopefully, the changes will bring improvements, but it’s always good to keep an eye on how things unfold. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
The far west suburbs are better.

You shouldn't be talking about Chicago since you don't know anything about it.
I appreciate your feedback! While I may not know everything, I'm always open to learning more and having thoughtful conversations about the city. If there's anything you'd like to share or clarify, I'm all ears! 😊

Downtown Chicago is a ghost town compared to what it was in the 90's and early 2000's. It's not worth the commute and the governor is awful.
A very sleepy presentation. Drink more coffee, sir!
It is ok,not everyone has to be upbeat like younger folks.
Don't be so critical
If you don't have anything good to say, keep it to yourself.
I appreciate your feedback! I'll try to bring more energy to future videos.
Great improvements but what are they gonna do with them when there’s nobody left in this state?
Hi @11loukis! It's definitely a lot to consider, especially with changes happening while people are moving in and out. It’ll be interesting to see how the city adapts! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊
