I was hoping to hear , Westchester, Schiller Park, Darien, Lincolnwood, Rosemont, Morton Grove, Elmhurst, Park Ridge, or Bolingbrook. All within 35 miles of Chicago. Your list , I would only choose Berkeley!
Those are not affordable!
Under today’s standards; Nothing is actually affordable as prices keep rising and $Wages$ stay the same, LOW.
Wow. These are all wonderful places!
Glad you like them! They really are!
The dirt rises up near the rest when there is not anything else to buy. Most of these towns are terrible, but you get what you don't pay for. For example Indiana after covid now cost about the same as good Chicago suburbs.
Thank you! 🙌
Thanks Lorena 🙌🏼

Crestwood and Stone Park on the list? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hahahaha
Thanks for this video. I watched a different video on 5 "affordable" suburbs and all of the homes had a median sales price of 300k.😔

I remember Northlake in the 80s, it was lovely.
It's wonderful to hear from someone with fond memories of Northlake during the 80s! It sounds like it was a special place to be. If you have any particular stories or favorite memories from that time, I'd love to hear more about what made Northlake so lovely for you. Thanks for sharing your experience, and for checking out the video!
Live in Cook County? Nope.
Why?
i love it, how come pwople leavibg yhat nice one
Thanks for your comment! It's great to hear you love the suburbs we mentioned. There can be many reasons why people decide to leave, even from nice areas. It might be due to personal reasons like job relocation, seeking a change in lifestyle, or even downsizing. Each person's situation is unique, but it's important to remember that these suburbs continue to offer great value and safety for those who choose to call them home. If you have any specific questions about these areas or others, feel free to ask!
There are 7-8 months per year with absolutely no snow. You could have shown those pictures instead. The Midwest and East Coast is not constantly covered in snow.
Thanks for your comment and for the feedback! You make a great point - the Midwest and East Coast definitely don't have snow all year round. I'll definitely keep that in mind for future videos. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
I tell people that all the time that it’s only like 2-3 weeks of terribly depressing snow and cold per year 😂
You should qualify most of these videos as "in the west" suburbs. Your focus is obviously west and southwest with few exceptions.
Thank you for your comment! We appreciate your feedback and are currently in the process of creating new content focusing on all of the Chicago suburbs in 2023. We plan on putting out more content tailored to each area so that our viewers can get a more in-depth look at the neighborhoods. Thank you again for taking the time to comment and we look forward to providing you with more content in the near future!
Crestwood? Safe? Y’all funny 😂😂
It's not that bad, although it is surrounded by bad areas to the east like Robbins, Blue Island and some south side neighbourhoods of the city.
Compared to Robbins, Markham Dolton and Harvey. Crestwood is a paradise.
@@pchuck1439 Exactly..it's crazy how in the Chicagoland area (and I guess every major US metropolis), there are towns/villages that are fine but adjacent to them are hell-holes. All you need is a 5 minute car ride to go from "okay" to "bad". I mean honestly, why does Robbins even exist? It's so small lol, they should just incorporate it with other nearby places.
@@pchuck1439 that’s another point it’s so close to ghetto. you’re more likely to get robbed / gunpoint in crestwood then any of these other towns in this video
@@FactStorm i live in palos heights and i’ll rather go shop in orland park than in crestwood i be seeing to many crack heads by those stores and the people shopping also look peculiar i don’t got time to be holding my purse tight everywhere i go.
How is public transport in Glenview or Park ridge?
Varies. If you want to know more we would need to get some more info. Feel free to reach out to us in the description
I grew up in the burbs of Chicago and close to some of these areas. Yes affordable and safe but if you have a family, not sure I would raise my kids in these areas necessarily.
Why would you not recommend this for families? Tks
@@Carlosmltrcome find out 😂
Northlake looks gorgeous. How is public transportation for those without cars?
Thank you! Northlake is gorgeous! Public transportation is good!
Northlake is not gorgeous! 🤣🤣
The last place you want your kids going is West Leyden!

Schaumburg hoffman estates ! Becoming more expensive
Thanks for your comment! Yes, it's true that Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates have become more expensive in recent years, but they still offer great value compared to other suburbs in the area. It's always good to keep an eye on housing prices and do your research before making a move. Thanks for watching!
Everything is expensive $$$$$
What about Berwyn? Affordable, great access to the city, huge stock of wonderful bungalow homes, , most areas safe.
Absolutely! Berwyn really does stand out as an appealing option. For those considering it, it's noteworthy that Berwyn's overall crime rate is about 9 per 1,000 residents, placing it near the average for all cities and towns across America. This makes it a relatively safe choice, combined with its affordability and the beautiful bungalow homes that characterize the area. Thanks again for highlighting Berwyn-it's valuable for potential movers to have this kind of detailed insight!
Northlake 👏🏻
Hi
Do you live in Northlake ?
@@Abdo-es2000 Yes I do 👍🏻
What is like there? Racial diversity situation? Metra trains?
Just curious where Evergreen Park ranked
That's a great question. unfortunately Evergreen was not on the list. We would love to gather information for you. Please reach out to us at theralphieandryanshow@gmail.com
Lyons is mostly a bunch of strip joints.
They are long gone!
Great video, too bad I can't even afford the "most affordable"..they're still expensive in my book. It would be best to make more specific videos like "Top 10 Most Affordable West/South Suburbs"..because talking about Chicago suburbs in general is vague and too broad. It will inherently produce a list missing many villages, towns & municipalities.
Thank you for the input! We will consider that.
@@ralphieandryan Keep up the good work, it really helps people like me looking for places. Websites with listing can only help so much, I love detailed videos so I appreciate your hard work. I know videography isn't easy and is time consuming. You did great research gentlemen.
Thank you for your kind words. It make the hard work pay off.
Why you shot video in winter? Is not better in other seasons?
We would have liked to film in the spring, summer, and fall, but we had to film in the winter instead. Maybe if the channel becomes more popular, we can shoot during other seasons.
What about Franklin Park
That’s used be nice is getto now
What’s up with Crestwood
Crestwood is definitely an interesting suburb with its mix of affordability and safety, making it a notable mention for those looking to live near Chicago. It offers a variety of amenities and a strong sense of community. If you're curious about specific aspects of Crestwood or have any particular questions, I'd be happy to delve deeper into what makes Crestwood stand out. Thanks for your interest!
That's not the library though that's wolf ridge condos. #northlakebornnraised
And Centre Point Park as they call it, shows a parking lot. Not the actually Preserve. But hey it's symantics. lol
Yea your right we should have added the correct shots. We apologize about that. We do have centre Point and the library in the Northlake spotlight video we made here ruclips.net/video/h6eF37maS8U/видео.html
Do you have public transportation? I can't drive due to disability.
Hometown is more affordable when it comes to buying, but has crazy property taxes, so theoretically it's affordable, practically it's not
Thanks for your comment! You're right - Hometown is a great option for those looking to buy a home, but the property taxes can be a bit high. That's why it's important to do your research and consider all the factors when choosing a suburb to live in, including cost of living, taxes, and amenities. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Money you must pay is money you must pay. So it doesn't matter if you live in a part of the country where your house costs $350,000 but your property taxes are only $4000 per year, or if you live in an area where your house only costs $175,000 but your property taxes are $6000 per year. Either way you must pay all the money you must pay. Sometimes people focus too much on the property taxes. Yes, Illinois has a little bit higher property tax, but the overall price of the house is usually lower. So you're not always saving by going to a part of the country where the property taxes are somewhat lower because the price of the house is generally way higher. So if you look at it in that sense, Illinois isn't that much higher, if at all. Not to mention Illinois doesn't have water shortage issues or droughts like many states have; the state sits on freshwater Lake Michigan, which is attached to the five freshwater Great Lakes.
@@GreenLine4444 hometown is an exeption, everything around it is crazy expensive with very high taxes. If you want a house cheaper with lower taxes ( maybe), that means you go to areas that are not so good. You really can't compare illinois with the states around it, which also have acces to lake michigan
@@fungamesandstories Many places have reasonable home prices in Illinois, and of course there are many very expensive homes in Illinois as well. But my point is some people focus only on property taxes, and if they go to a location in the country that has a little lower property tax, but the home costs way more, they didn't really save. Not to mention the Chicago area has highly ranked universities, museums, zoos, planetarium, aquarium, and other cultural institutions, transportation (subways and El lines, a separate Metra network, highway network, Amtrak trains to all parts of the continental US, major airports with a plethora of nonstop global flights, entertainment, film making, TV making, music making, luxury restaurants and shopping, beaches, global port facilities for shipping and receiving international cargo, globally ranked architecture, massive parks, a federally designated National Park (Pullman), home to numerous global and regional headquarters, and later on, a Presidential Library and Museum, and a huge casino, all set among a culturally diverse population. Most cities offer nowhere near all these amenities - nowhere near. So people should focus a little less on property taxes in Illinois since the home prices in Illinois are reasonably well, especially considering all the aforementioned amenities. People tend to forget Texas and New Jersey (among some others) have some high property taxes. And yeah, I didn't mean comparing Illinois to other states on the Great Lakes pertaining to freshwater, I was talking about Chicago and Illinois not experiencing water shortages and droughts whatsoever like many other places around the country typically experience.
@@GreenLine4444 well, i can't even compare southern illinois with northen illinois, where Hometown is. All these are Chicago's suburbs. You know it also depends to find work, and work is easier to find around big cities. I understand what you're saying, but i rather pay for my own house in equity than taxes, which you don't really get too much back, maybe schools?! 🤔. And assuming that everybody is paying mortgages, how is it fair to pay like another mortgage just for taxes? It makes no sense. I'm going to say it again, there is no affordable house price with high taxes, unless you sacrifice school district or/and safety, so your theory is not right. Why would i compare illinois with texas or new jersey, when I never lived there?
I wouldn’t mind in Some of these suburbs even if you paid me. Northwest suburbs have a some areas that are affordable and safe.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with those areas he mentioned.
👀 Promo_SM!!!
there is nothing safe near chicago
Not really it’s just not pure white like it was 100 years ago
West of 355 could be OK .😁😁😁
