    The Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area is one of the best spots in the state, if not the country! Absolutely ANYTHING you could want is there, except the highest-end clothing stores. But for that you can go to the North Shore or downtown.
    Being close to hospitals, physicians and specialists of every sort becomes REALLY important after 70.

      I completely agree! I moved to Schaumburg from Chicago in 1994 and completely fell in love with the area. The awesome restaurants and entertainment and of course one of the biggest malls in the state Woodfield Mall.

    AWESOME video!! I'd like to add my own personal experience as well. I grew up in Flossmoor/Homewood area, lived in Wicker Park for a few years, and work in Palos. I am currently living in Plainfield Illinois and have lived here in a new home build for the past 3yrs. I'm surprised that this town wasn't listed. To be TOTALLY honest, this is without a doubt the best overall quality of life and living I have experienced so far. It's directly connected to Naperville, Joliet, Shorewood, Oswego and few other towns. I have NEVER felt safer and more comfortable than I have here. I could easily walk around my neighborhood (black male) at 2am and not feel the slightest in danger. Granted, I got in during covid and before the housing boom. The area has grown tremendously in terms of new housing AND it's not Crook i mean cook county. I agree 100% with everything said about Naperville and that is a well-deserved #1 spot. What's great is that I'm 20-30 minute (back road) driving from downtown Naperville. I cannot attest to the school quality as I've only been here 3yrs and my daughter is now turning 2. All of my neighbors are loving and friendly and there is a strong sense of community without crossing into the weird neighborhood watch/Karen category. Between Large city fairs, fireworks, farmer markets, nightlife events, downtown events.....i cannot recommend enough another well rounded town to live in that checks all the boxes without much compromise. IF I had to find cons, I'd say there is a huge abundance of new development homes now but not a lot of things like movie theaters and super upscale restaurants. Think like Hugos, Cooper Hawk, Sullivans. You'll have to travel out of town for those but once again, Plainfield is 20-30 minutes from ALL of these. There's a theater in Joliet mall 10 minutes away from me. While this town is not on the list, I HIGHLY recommend looking into it if you are searching for a place to live and using this video as a reference. I may have struck gold given my new home was built in south Plainfield a block away from route 59 which connects everything. I have a fire department less than a mile away from us, Shorewood and Joliet for food and shops less than a mile away, Naperville down 59 for City experience without going to the city, close to Plainfield Central (highest rated HS), and minutes from downtown.

I appreciate the recommendation, and I’ll definitely keep Plainfield in mind for future videos!

      Wow, you've already explored quite a few of the suburbs, but there's definitely more to see! Each suburb around Chicago has its own unique flavor and charm. Since you've been to both the more urban and the quieter, more residential areas, maybe next time you could check out some of the western suburbs like Naperville or Oak Park, which are known for their vibrant downtowns and community activities. If you need any suggestions on places to visit or things to do in any specific suburb, feel free to ask. Enjoy your future explorations!

      @ralphieandryan  9 месяцев назад

      Hi! Choosing the best suburb in IL greatly depends on your specific wants and needs, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms you're looking for, the size of the home, amenities, school requirements, and whether you have children. With a budget of $1.2 million, you have a lot of flexibility. Suburbs like Hinsdale, Wilmette, and Lake Forest could be great options, but the best fit for you will vary based on your priorities. I'd love to discuss your preferences in more detail to help identify the perfect suburb for you. Feel free to reach out directly for a more tailored discussion. Thanks for reaching out, and I'm here to help with your home search!

      Naperville is an excellent choice and does indeed check many of the boxes you've mentioned. It has top-notch healthcare facilities, a strong focus on safety, great schools, and a diverse community. However, housing affordability can vary based on your specific budget and needs.
      Ultimately, the 'best' suburb for you would depend on your price range, work location, and personal preferences. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss your options in more detail. I'd be happy to help you find the perfect fit for your family! 👨‍⚕️🏫🏠

    Palos is a Spanish word, but it's pronounced payless for all three villages, not paylos. Also, I am curious as to why you conflated all of them into one Palos. Palos Park is the wealthiest, followed by Palos Heights, then Palos Hills. Just because they all have "Palos" in their names, doesn't mean their stats (demographics, income, geographic size etc) should be talked about as one lol. Yes, they border each other but they are not one unless you're talking about the township.
    I personally think Orland Park is the best southwest suburb, as it has everything from retail to dining choices. The western suburbs can be argued, as many Dupage villages are nice. I like Schaumburg, La Grange & Naperville. The north suburbs are usually even wealthier so one can take their pic as its subjective depending on what they're looking for. People seem to like Glencoe & Kenilworth.

      @@ralphieandryanyep we have to be sensitive on a specific topic. I myself is an immigrant, a Registered Professional Nurse. I chose Clarendon Hills because it has everything I need and accessible to all. Geography-wise, IL is in the middle of the USA, you can go west, south, and east easily. If you ever need assistance with any questions or information related to Clarendon Hills or relocating, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help and provide support in any way we can. Weather (we want 4seasons), COL, RN opportunities, diverse community, crime rates, schools, near hospitals, walkable area, lots of things to do, not that big city but close to big city which is Chicago, lots of parks and trails - all we found this at Dupage County.
      Thanks to this vlog. Keep going. We are waiting for an updated Visa Bullentin for EB3 visa. Retrogression is happing right now... But I wont forget IL, land of Lincoln is what we choose. Coz we're not into fancy cities like SF, LA, and NYC. Great to visit but not to live.
