You didn't even show the best trick he has for his mechanical arm. Where he shoots his fist off on little rockets, and using a remote control, flies it around punching unsuspecting enemies in the head with it.
The only guns I ever used were the tranq pistol and the ak-47-like rifle you get early on that I just upgraded as I could, and on rare occasions a sniper rifle as needed. Hardly ever used the AK, and ironically hardly ever used the tranq either, usually prefered to just knock people out and Fulton them when no one was looking. The tranq was more a "oh shit button" if I got spotted and got into reflex mode. and the AK idk, made me feel a little better if I had to actually deal with a shootout even though I'd usually just air drop smoke on my location and sprint through. The game is truly a playground isn't it?
You guys should check out Metal Gear Solid 4 it's my favorite out of the series & all the guns that are in there are very well detailed also the manual of arms like reloading & shooting everything it's amazing how much detail Kojima & the team put in.
That caseless grenade launcher is GP-25 more likely used on AK series as a underbarell launcher, but what i like in a MGSV, is the fact that they showed up less famous GP-25 "Kastet" platform, for firing like separated from a gun launcher, i think m203 had also something like this, m320 has it for sure. Whats about "caseless" GP's nature is more closer to a rocket propelled ammunition, however that rocket blast lasts less than a half of second
Not an NVG scope, it's supposed to be the variable zoom scopes. However, I'm some cases you can mount a Mid Range Scope and Red Dot Sight and not be able to change between them (the bullpup is one of those).
I like to play metal gear solid five with the most basic equipment possible but also the active camouflage and some stealth armor. So I’m still kicking ass
13:48 - this is variation on soviet GP-25 underbarrel grenade launcher but standalone. Grenades for this, VOG-25 for example, is technically caseless - they have powser charge build in the rear, not pressed powder or anything like experimental G11 german rifle. This grenades in service like from 1970s.
The caseless grenade launcher is real. It's the GP-25 which uses a single a piece to fire like a mortar does instead of a 2 piece like the m203. The flare pistol that fires grenades is also real. WW2 Germany came up with it and it's called the Panzerwurfköper 42 (the round name but the wiki page has a good photo of it). Another tid bit: all the guns in game are mostly combinations of real firearms. The bullpup rifle is G11 crossbreed with a little famas and some Aug.
In terms of the tranq gun and how long it takes to knock something out, it can either be very fast or very slow depending on how much you use, how big the mouse is, and where its administered. I work with research mice (obv not the same as humans, but the concept carries over i believe); with small doses in the right spot, there have been mice ive anesthetized that have been knocked out before ive even finished the whole injection. Theres also been times where its taken 2-3 injections to knock some out completely. So best case it has potential to work just like the movies, in theory.
I didn't know they already tried fiber optic active camo. Hopefully it was a case of technology not being mature enough to make it good enough. Because I'm currently making a set with a few coatings to tweak the input and output. I know I can't get perfect so I'm trying for moving transparent shadow
@John Marler Yup. In forested areas it's perfect. Anywhere with splotchy lighting really. But it needs coatings to dim it down and diffuse the light in areas with consistent direct sunlight or it turns into a wearable lighthouse. I'm waiting to try a more complex version using small optical clarity resin printed lenses on the surface, less fiber optic pathing, and adapters to let the strands cross each other to make the pathing and space management easier. That one will take enormous amounts of time to make. Every armour piece needs the pathing and all that. But if tuned correctly it SHOULD work much better than the raw fiber optic version. Tbh with hundreds if not thousands of paths to be modeled, a small handful of mistakes might not even be a bad thing in the tuning
for the silencer on the tranq, I always questioned it, but when I first broke my silencer, I went "OHHHHH it's just a normal bullet with pirmer and stuff but has tranq round instead of a lead one!" I think this is how that tranq gun works right?
if you sneak up on someone with the water pistol you can point it at them and tell them to surrender they will comply as long as they don't see the gun, it can also be used to take out radio equipment and there is an enemy that is on fire.

Fun fact: The US army fielded the Colt 1873 in .45 long colt at the same time as the .45 schofield and inevitably sent the wrong ammo with the wrong guns. You could shoot the schofield ammo in the 1873 normally but the wider rim on the Colt ammo meant you could only load every other chamber in the Schofield with Colt ammo. So 3 shots total with a click between each. Not ideal!
Anaesthetics for animals are pretty complex. Lots of different kinds and rates of metabolism affect not only the amount required but also what types are even effective. My ecology professor in college had a doctorate in her field of study but was also a credentialed veterinarian that specialized in pachyderms. Animals like elephants, hippos and rhinoceros can be tranquilized but not quite fully enough to work on the ground next to them during, say, a surgery. You do surgery on those animals while laying on scaffolds hung above the animal reaching down. These platforms can and will be rapidly ascended if the animal tried to do something like rolling or kicking. A kick from even a narced pachyderm is enough to crush a human ribcage, sometimes event glancing blow can crush organs and send people flying. So no, it's not just *thwip* and a large animal goes down. Sometimes even smaller animals like big cats won't go down, much less stay down, and they tend to thrash when darted so it can be hard to know when it's safe to hit them if someone has ended up stuck in an enclosure with one. The dart can miss, mis-strike and fail to deploy either part of or the entire dose which gives the animal even more time and reason to react dangerously. Some zoos have given up darting in dangerous situations now in favor of immediate use of lethal force because so many people have insisted on hugging tigers that it simple isn't worth increasing the risk at all anymore and seen as better to sacrifice the animal, even a critically endangered one, for a human life.
its unfortunate you guys did this game for guns first, as this was the first main-line mgs game that didn't use real gun licenses and models. Mgs1-4 not only had detailed models but also characters that would give facts and triva about said gun in each game. mgs4 had 70 different guns ircc
regarding the tranq mechanics in MGS, iirc they made it so the effect is more immediate depending on how close the shot lands to your target's head. i.e if you shoot them in the foot, it'd take a good 8-12 seconds before they drop dead?(thats enough time for them to tell their squadmates something's up) subsequent shots will obviously speed up the effect.
The caseless gun Paul is thinking of would be the G11. Unfortunately, a large number of factors conspired against the G11 - the mechanism looks like a damn cuckoo clock, and bits of the propellant would get shaved into said mechanism and jam it. Also, I think the propellant may have been carcinogenic. That could be a different caseless weapon, though.
They'd largely solved that and it technically entered production...the very instant the Berlin Wall came down and the suddenly-unified Germany could no longer afford it.
I am too, and my opinion is it’s still kinda arcady styled, but satisfying and fun to the point no one gonna care. Also most likely that first guy had a Tippman. Very common starter pistols around his era.
I can say from experience taking a human amount tranquilizer it takes abt 5-10 minutes depending and if u took a animal size one I assume it’s be a lot quicker but for me it took 5-10 minutes and I couldn’t do anything went straight to sleep
The main point of the water gun is to kind of stun the hardest enemies in the game, the Skulls. They're soldiers enhanced with a virus turning them into really deadly, bulletproof bioweapons. The thing is that the virus consumes a lot of water so the soldiers are always thirsty. Because of that whenever they get in contact with water, be it by rain or any other means, they get in a state of uncontrollable pleasure, absorbing every drop of water that falls on their skin. Sooooo... when they're in your face, ready to chop you down with a machete, just give them a few squirts and unload a few rounds of .50 BMG on their chest.

I've always loved stuff like that in games, when the enemy has some random weakness that makes sense when you stop and think about it but it isn't something you'd normally use like that. In one of the Final Fantasy games there is an undead boss you fight at one point. Pretty tough battle to go through conventionally. But if you use a Phoenix Down (the item that lets you revive fallen allies) on the boss, being undead it actually critically wounds if not outright kills it.
14:05 the rifle you're thinking of is the g11 and the Russian grenade launchers on aks us caseless grenades the gun being shown is pretty much based of off the Russian grenade launcher but with a stock
What blew my mind was that the double underbarol grenade launcher, was an actual thing. Think it was a consideration on some sorta weapon contract…. But blew my mind to find out, was a real world equivalent. The tripple is not, just litteraly 2 underbarrols welded atop of each other its nuts.
that weird tiny grenade pistol was one of the most realistic, the game evern gives you the name "kampf pistole" and they had to change a lot of the weapons silhouettes as the mid 2010s was when firearm manufacturers started issuing lawsuits after seeing their firearms used in 'shocking' scenes, no russian comes to mind
No, that's not true at all. The only cases where firearm silhouettes have been a factor was the Glock 17 and MP5, because Glock and H&K had trademarks which depicted them and there were worries this might allow a trademark infringement case. In no other case is the physical shape of a weapon a protected thing. It's generally thought the weird frankenguns in MGSV were just to make them work better with the game's gunsmithing system, since that'd be easier if they were designed to fit together from the word go.
@@CruelestChris well at the time there was a loophole in japanese law that said you could use a game to 'market' airsoft replicas through your game (least that's my understanding of the translation) but around that time umarex were running round suing airsoft manufacturers for unlicensed copies of airsoft replicas of real firearms (glock and HK were the primary manufacturers that umarex were suing over) without paying the licensing fees. this really muddied the waters. and while the weapon customization aspect does explain part of it, doesn't quite explain why ground zeros, and really doesn't explain why there were franken guns in MGS social ops, which uses both the same weapons sans any customisation options.
That grenade launcher is based on russian under barrel grenade launcher, gp 25/30/34. It's called caseless here, because unlike the american m203, you drop the grenade down the barrel and after firing, you don't need to remove the spent casing. Because there isn't one. In shortest terms, it basically a small mortar.
About six years ago Deus Ex Mankind Divided had a partnership to develop prosthetic based on that game. ruclips.net/video/3BY4iCv73ZQ/видео.html The main reason we don't have this level of prosthetic is that it is super hard to convert brain signals into electronic input. That is also the reason why leg prosthetics are more advanced than hand.

I like all the movie references. They’re hilarious, especially with Paul’s utter confusion like the Invisible Man one 😂
the uragon 5 is more based on the Mateba Autorevolver (and not sure if he got inspiration from ghost in the shell) which was designed 10 years before the rhino.
It's a mix of the Mateba, Rhino and Rex
@@Metalheadyup i would have thought the Taurus Judge since that shoots shotgun shells. can not think of to many revolvers that shoot shotgun rounds.

You didn't even show the best trick he has for his mechanical arm. Where he shoots his fist off on little rockets, and using a remote control, flies it around punching unsuspecting enemies in the head with it.
Rocket punch
The Water Pistol is the most OP sidearm in the game. At least for me.

Funnily enough, I'm seeing these for the first time as well because I ran around with full non-lethal kit from start to finish
Yesss! The video I needed but wasn’t aware that I needed. This just made my day. 👌
The water pistol is good for taking out the communication radios and the power grids and putting out fire in the barrels at night time
You guys should check out Metal Gear Solid 4 it's my favorite out of the series & all the guns that are in there are very well detailed also the manual of arms like reloading & shooting everything it's amazing how much detail Kojima & the team put in.
These men know their guns, me and Sigint approve
That caseless grenade launcher is GP-25 more likely used on AK series as a underbarell launcher, but what i like in a MGSV, is the fact that they showed up less famous GP-25 "Kastet" platform, for firing like separated from a gun launcher, i think m203 had also something like this, m320 has it for sure. Whats about "caseless" GP's nature is more closer to a rocket propelled ammunition, however that rocket blast lasts less than a half of second
It's actually most comparable to a mortar shell, since it's still using conventional explosive propellant.
They do give you the option of an internally silenced stun pistol later in the game. I much prefer using that one 😁
Should've also shown him the cutscene where the new recruits are being taught on the boat about how to aim guns and fix jams.
The problem, if I recall, was that it had limited effectiveness outside certain lighting environments.
Most grenade launchers that where designed for the ak platform generally use caseless grenades.
You guys should have pulled in the forgotten arms guy for this
for the silencer on the tranq, I always questioned it, but when I first broke my silencer, I went "OHHHHH it's just a normal bullet with pirmer and stuff but has tranq round instead of a lead one!"
I think this is how that tranq gun works right?
if you sneak up on someone with the water pistol you can point it at them and tell them to surrender they will comply as long as they don't see the gun, it can also be used to take out radio equipment and there is an enemy that is on fire.
I literally just started replaying MGSV this week, gamology KNOWS

45 schofield is absolutely the right caliber for an original. Nice one Israel!

The russian 40mm grenades for the underbarrel launchers and some mounted full auto grenade launchers are caseless.
Thank you for doing this lads. I got tired of requesting this exact video from the guy from the Royal Armoury over on Gamespot.
You guys missed out on the other cool firearms: AM D114 Pistol (M1911), Burkov (Makarov PM), ZE'EV SMG (UZI 9mm), Sz.336 - Sodomka Zbrojovka (Vz.61), SVG-67/76 (Sturmovaya Vintovka Gryzov - Gryzov Assault Rifle - AK-47/74), AM (Arms Material Multipurpose Rifle System Model 4) MRS-4 (AR-15/AR-70 hybrid), UN ARC (United Nations Automatic Rifle for Combat), Kabarga-83 (Vepr 12/Saiga 12), ALM-48 (Aberdeen Lighter Machinegun), UN-AAM, LPG-61, Brennan LRS-46 Bolt-Action AMR, Serval 7 AMR, Decoys, and many others.
its unfortunate you guys did this game for guns first, as this was the first main-line mgs game that didn't use real gun licenses and models.
Fun fact about Paul: He’s not only incredibly handsome, ladies, he’s also thoughtful AND resourceful.
would love to see a review of the new Darktide weapons especially the BOLTER!

I barely played MGSV because they couldn't even use the name property of guns, nearly every game used real life brands and types
I'm former service too, but I hate that I know this. The tranq guns in MGS are ball and power ammo weapons. The tranq in MGS5 is a 22, firing subsonic rounds, which is the reason for the manual chambering after each shot.
There's a boss fight in the game with a psychic pyromaniac and he can be put down with the squirt gun.
I love it when the experts actually know about gaming!
14:05 the rifle you're thinking of is the g11 and the Russian grenade launchers on aks us caseless grenades the gun being shown is pretty much based of off the Russian grenade launcher but with a stock
Awesome, thanks for letting me know! I’m gonna dive more into this.
What blew my mind was that the double underbarol grenade launcher, was an actual thing. Think it was a consideration on some sorta weapon contract….
But blew my mind to find out, was a real world equivalent. The tripple is not, just litteraly 2 underbarrols welded atop of each other its nuts.

the water gun is useful when fighting the man on fire you can also use it to short curcuit enemy electronics like generators or lights or radios
Sad to think that the game itself is actually incomplete

We need part 2 of this. There's still plenty of guns to cover. :D
lmao, that cigar is actually a vape
I love Paul and Isreal great dudes
I wonder how a experts play would go with metal gear as I fan I believe Kojima stuck to alot of borderline realism outside the crazy stuff
that weird tiny grenade pistol was one of the most realistic, the game evern gives you the name "kampf pistole" and they had to change a lot of the weapons silhouettes as the mid 2010s was when firearm manufacturers started issuing lawsuits after seeing their firearms used in 'shocking' scenes, no russian comes to mind
The case-less grenade launcher is based off the Russian GP-25 from the Kalashnikov line, fyi.
Love some mgs weapon breakdown
*I'd like to see them react to Wolfenstein or Homefront: The Revolution next*
Where is this firing range they keep showing in game?
God, I wish the bloke over at that other gaming channel did this game
That grenade launcher is based on russian under barrel grenade launcher, gp 25/30/34. It's called caseless here, because unlike the american m203, you drop the grenade down the barrel and after firing, you don't need to remove the spent casing. Because there isn't one. In shortest terms, it basically a small mortar.
Israel's references are on point, I'm glad I got the invisible man reference before he said it.
About six years ago Deus Ex Mankind Divided had a partnership to develop prosthetic based on that game.
ruclips.net/video/3BY4iCv73ZQ/видео.html
The main reason we don't have this level of prosthetic is that it is super hard to convert brain signals into electronic input. That is also the reason why leg prosthetics are more advanced than hand.
The gamology logo literally covers the name of the guns.
