    Very glad they’re trying to help this dog, but chances are someone just bought that harness so they could get into places with the dog that normally did not allow a dog. Very common. Hopefully she’ll find a good new home. I believe a true service dog would be micro chipped as well. God bless this sweet dog.

    No chip? No tags? Anyone that bought a REAL, proper trained, service dog would have paid thousands for it and would 100% be chipped. It’s very easy and common for people to buy a vest to take a reasonably well trained dog into stores and restaurants. More likely someone’s ESA… also important but not the same. I hope her owners come for her but I really doubt she’s a service animal.

      You’re probably right.
      This wouldn’t happen with someone investing in a true trained service animal.
      I do see a lot of military veterans self train thief ptsd animals. I don’t agree with it, but it’s possible she belong to a veteran, possibly a homeless veteran. While those dogs typically don’t run off they do get stolen.

      Also the Ada does not recognize emotional support animals.

    Don’t adopt it out, find the owner!

    What if the dog was seeking assistance for its owner?
    Surely, someone would know that their service dog was missing!

    I’m surprised that no one reported their service dog missing. I would think that she would know where her home is because she’s a service dog and they know what they are there to do for the person that they are with.

      lol cause it's a fake. Cops are then going to charge a huge fine for faking it so my best guess is they rather just ditch the dog which is really sad. this dog deserves better

    I'm guessing this is someone's pet who they bought a "service dog" harness for online so they could take them into stores and restaurants. Now they either can't afford the care or simply lost the dog and decided not to look at the most obvious place: the shelter. In either case, if you can go days without your "service dog," were they really a service dog?

    Maybe the owner is incapacitated.

      They should check in with the homeless programs, veterans programs, and arrested in the surrounding area.

    • @twilightmarichat1854
      @twilightmarichat1854 Год назад

      The owner should have contact info on the vest or get dog tags/microchips. I know some legit teams that even go as far as tattooing their name initial's on the dog's thigh leg because of the growing trend of people stealing service dogs from there homes

    Ya know sometimes if someone finds a service dog without it’s owner the owner is in danger can the dog find it’s owner sometimes the dog has a command to do so 🤷🏼‍♀️

    How would a certified service animal be without identification and microchips?
    Don’t adopt this dog out! Ask the ADA service dog listings for help. If she’s registered they can help.
    Regardless. Someone who needs their dog is missing her.
    At the age of two is possible but not probable that she’s still being trained.

    • @HabeasJ
      @HabeasJ Год назад +1

      Don't you think that after multiple days (at least over 3 according to the story), someone who "needs their dog" would'a called the shelter? The most obvious place to check? Nah, someone abandoned their dog, or simply lost them and doesn't care enough (or want to) find them. Also, all legitimate service dogs are trained to not play when their harness is on... at all. When it's on, they're strictly working. This is rule one for service dogs because if their handler needs them but they're focused on a ball, that's a bad situation.
      .
      Not microchipped? Owner not looking for them? Doesn't act like a trained service dog? Imma go out on a limb and say that's not a service dog

    Is it possible the owner ended up in hospital via ambulance and they weren't able to take the service dog along or the dog went for help and it kinda fell thru the cracks?

    Does anyone know if this dog was ever reunited with its handler?

    I don’t think that they should let her be adopted service dog’s are expensive and someone needs her for whatever reason she shouldn’t be adopted.

    I can tell you that legit owners of service dogs would have emergency training in place if the dog had to be separated from it's owner, like going to the hospital for example. If not giving a plan to "go find help" the dog would have stayed near the owner regardless. Legit teams also have emergency contact info on the dog's vest for a specific back up handler to come get the dog if needed or to a patch that says "Service dog please do not separate from the owner"
    Legit teams wouldn't risk wasting thousands of dollars on a dog they brought or adopted and not have plans in place if shit happens where the dog is separated from them
    Probably the owner hasn't come forward because they know their dog is a fake and doesn't want to be charged for faking a service dog no legit teams buys the amazon service dog vest lol

      Lots of teams buy amazon vests for young service dogs while saving up for a good one since they expensive and not having the cards during an unexpeted stop isnt odd - Is odd dog doesnt have her collar on
      Its the one piece we always have

    • @twilightmarichat1854

      @@Izamota-q5v I agree with you on the collar. nowadays you can get some cheap dog tags with basic info like phone umber and name and many places ik provide microchiping dogs for free if your low income.
      Most yongue service dogs that due have those amazon vest also have some info IN THE VEST to slip in a paper that has the owner's name, address, and phone number.
