    I would take the school to court for refusing the student to have his dog with him.

    This school is blatantly violating the ADA by not allowing the Psychiatric Service Dog to accompany it's owner. This dog is obviously trained to perform a physical task that mitigates a psychiatric disability and therefore qualifies as a service dog under the ADA.

      If it is a private school the school can deny a service dog.

    And that's why I had to pull my daughter out of public school. She suffered from conversion disorder drop seizures.
    The school told us they are educators, not psychiatrists (even though there's one on staff).
    I also have military PTSD & take my PTSD service dog everywhere. Baring the concert I was kicked out of because I had a service dog (for whom I had hearing protection for).

    The school needs educated.
    And the attorney needs to quit his job because he does not know the law.
    It is not an ESA or therapy dog.
    They r completely different.
    It is a psychiatric service dog for PTSD which is a disability.
    PSDs r real service dogs, they r not ESAs or TDs.
    The school broke ADA laws.
    They committed a federal crime.
    Not only should they be charged, but they should be sued too.

    It’s so upsetting to see stuff like this! I don’t even tho how hard it would be to live with such a horrible mental disability and be denied of your own medical equipment and yes service dogs are named as medical equipment it must so dehumanising to be fake claimed to

    Psyciatric service dogs are differnt from emotional support animals this school needs to get its shit together and learn the law

  • @carriehollyland3596
    @carriehollyland3596 Год назад +1

    The school is 100% in the wrong and r breaking laws.
    Their attorney's comment about ESAs and TAs r irrelevant being the fact that that it is neither of those, it is a SA.
    And SAs have public access rights, and the school has zero rights in denying it.

    I dont understand being denied entrance to school board meeting- those parents pay the income for the administrators.

  • @holisticleedriven8532

    That is NOT an Emotional Support Animal, which is literally an untrained animal. This dog has been specifically trained to mitigate his disability. As such, the school district does not have the legal grounds to keep them off school property!

    I'm confused... Is the dog a "service dog" or a "therapy dog"? This child...CHILD...needs to have a "SERVICE" dog...the school is treating this as a therapy dog, so I'm assuming it's not a certified "SERVICE" dog. Funds should be raised to train his dog to be certified for him. This frustrates me... he's a child with a medical diagnosis...ugh

      He's actually a fully trained psychiatric service dog. His family raised the funds to purchase him.

    • @carriehollyland3596
      @carriehollyland3596 Год назад +1

      There is no reasons he should have to home school of he doesn't want to.
      The school should know and obey the laws.
      A school that does not know the laws, has no business being a school to teach others then.

      Just because u don't understand service dogs, and u don't know this kid and his situation, and u have personal trust issues, doesn't mean this kid should not be allowed to have his service dog with him at school, and does not mean he can not handle his own service dog by himself.
      Quit being so judgmental.
