Met him at a gas station, told Him I could fix your Stang, I charged him $100. But it was night and day a different car. 3 shops prior, could fix it. I took him on a ride, he pownded gas and mustang move out and he stayed in it to 85 mph. He had a huge 😁 smile. No more hesitation or stalling. I heard his car pulling up as I was pumping gas.

The TPS needs to have the screw holes slotted so you can twist it in place. Then put a multimeter on the hot and ground. Twist and mess with it to get it as close to .99 ohms as possible without going over 1.0 it is finicky so be patient. That completely fixed my idle hunting issue and I've seen many with this problem.

Im having an issue on my 88 tbird 5.0 where it starts surging on cold start then corrects itself. Idles around 1000 rpm in park. However when i put it in drive or reverse...the idle is fine for about 4-5 seconds then starts surging, sometimes completely stalling. Could this be a bad temp sensor, spark plug, mass air meter, or ECM? Very frustrating. I tried doing a base idle reset and still doing it. It's an E303 cam with GT40 heads, intake etc... mass air conversion from speed density. I heard the wrong torque converter can cause it but i dont think that's the issue. I have a 2200-2400 stall PA converter. Also have all smog and egr deleted, as well as any unnecessary vacuum lines

I would check for vacuum leaks first. Smoke test, then clean maf sensor, CNC cleaner Walmart. I would also check fuel key on and key off with gauge on rail. Should point you in direction of issue.

Go to Walmart get CRC maf sensor cleaner. Pull maf sensor, spray short Burst's at wires at bottom from both directions, put fresh 93 gas in tank, syphon key three time to turn on pump and push fuel to rail. Then on the forth time start car. *** In addition , I use a fuel additives that works wonders for your situation.techron complete ✅ fuel system cleaner. I use 4 gallon of 93 and that as well, let car run, Idle for a 30 mins to a -hour. I do my own vehicle like this after there slumber.

Not sure if this will help any of your problems, but I built a 5.0 20 years ago, and had idling issues since day one. Life kept me busy so it actually sat in the garage, and would take it out occasionally. Maybe 200 miles a year. Anyway, now to my fix. I had the itch to drive it, and was determined to find out the problem. I first sprayed throttle body cleaner all around to find a vacuum leak, but did not find anything. I finally started with the base idle set, and no success so I knew it was something else. I then went to check fuel pressure, and when I removed the vacuum line on my BBK adjustable fuel regulator, it was spitting fuel out of the vacuum port. I found this was an issue from brand new on the model with the vacuum port that comes out the side of the housing. They improved the internals on the newer versions where the port is vertical on the housing. If anyone has an older BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator, the first thing you should do is remove the vacuum line, put your finger over the port and a finger on the vacuum line. See if it idles now. Mine started idling as soon as I did that. I just put in a fixed regulator from Autozone for the time being in my car, and it idles good.
